Riser looked at Seekvaira with an air of superiority.
"You don't even seem like a Devil, Seekvaira," he said, his voice dripping with disdain. "And that's mainly how I deal with anyone who tries to harm my sister."
Seekvaira raised an eyebrow, maintaining her calm and controlled expression despite Riser's provocative tone.
"Not everyone needs to be as brutish as you, Riser," she replied, her voice calm contrasting with the intensity of the Phenex heir. She then turned to Sona, her expression softening as she approached Riser's wife. "I'm leaving now, it was a pleasure seeing you, Sona."
Sona nodded with a polite smile, acknowledging Seekvaira's departure with a nod of her head.
"The pleasure was mine, Seekvaira. I hope we meet again soon."
Meanwhile, Rias and Akeno approached the group.
Rias observed the interaction between Sona, Seekvaira, and Riser with interest, noting the exchange of looks and words between them. She hoped for an opportunity to approach and talk to her colleagues, but before she could act, Seekvaira addressed her.
"Hi Rias, I'm sorry, we can't talk, but I was already leaving," said Seekvaira, her voice calm and polite. Rias nodded in understanding, watching the Devil walk away gracefully.
As she watched Seekvaira walk away, Rias turned to Riser, feeling curiosity bubbling inside her.
"Did Diodora try to harm your sister?"
"Yes, Diodora tried to approach Ravel with ill intentions," he explained, his voice calm. "I couldn't just allow that, so I took action."
Rias nodded, understanding Riser's determination to protect his sister.
"I see," she murmured, her expression serious. "It's important to keep family members safe."
She remembered when her own father had threatened to take her Peerage as a form of manipulation and control. It was an unpleasant memory, but it served as a constant reminder of the dangers that could arise within devil families.
Meanwhile, Sona noticed Rias's serious expression and decided to suggest a change of environment to ease some of the tension.
"Why don't we go to the second floor?" Sona proposed, looking around to confirm the number of people in the castle. "There are still many people down here."
Riser turned and began to head towards the stairs. The other people involved in the conversation followed him in silence, each lost in their own thoughts. When they finally reached the second floor, they found a quieter and more private room. Riser indicated the chairs around the round table and everyone sat down, forming a circle.
Sona looked around the room, noting the more intimate and relaxed atmosphere of the second floor. She sighed with relief, feeling the tension from the previous confrontation starting to dissipate.
"This is much better," she commented, her voice soft. "Now we can talk more calmly."
Rias nodded, silently thanking for the change of environment.
Riser looked at Rias with evident curiosity in his piercing gaze.
"You seem intrigued by what happened between Diodora and me," he observed, his voice calm but insightful. "Do you have a special interest in him, by any chance?"
Rias felt a twinge of tension run down her spine, her heart beating faster at Riser's direct question. She pondered for a moment, debating whether she should share her thoughts with him or not.
"Well, I was just curious to know what happened," she replied, her voice sounding casual. "After all, it's not every day that we see such... intense confrontation between devil heirs."
Akeno shot Rias a meaningful look, clearly unsatisfied with her friend's evasive excuse. She decided to intervene, feeling that it was time to reveal the truth.
"Diodora is Rias's new fiancé!" Akeno dropped the bomb, her voice laden with disgust as she uttered the words.
Sona and Tsubaki were surprised by the unexpected revelation, their gazes meeting in a quick exchange of shock.
"What?!" Sona exclaimed, her voice denoting disbelief at the news. "That's unbelievable!"
Riser, feigning surprise, raised an eyebrow, his gaze fixed on Rias as he joined the conversation. "Diodora? Really?"
"Akeno!" Rias reprimanded her friend, her voice tinged with displeasure. She felt embarrassed by the sudden revelation, but she knew she couldn't hide the truth for long.
Akeno shrugged, her expression tense as she prepared to explain her reasons. "Sorry, Rias, but I couldn't help it. I thought everyone should know."
Rias sighed, resigned in the face of Akeno's insistence. She knew it would be futile to deny the truth now that the news had been revealed.
"My parents..." she began, her voice laden with frustration, "my father made a marriage contract with the Astaroth family!"
"Ha ha ha ha ha ha"
Riser burst into loud laughter, breaking the tense atmosphere that hung over the group. He looked around, his arrogant smile evidencing the satisfaction at the reaction he caused.
Rias looked at Riser with a disgusted expression on her face as he let out his loud and arrogant laughter. She felt uncomfortable with the Phenex heir's reaction to the news of her engagement to Diodora Astaroth.
"Well, I wish the happy couple all the best," said Riser, his voice tinged with sarcasm as he continued to laugh.
Sona, sensing the growing tension in the room, decided to intervene.
"Riser, your attitude is unnecessary," she reprimanded him, her voice firm. "It's not polite to mock Rias's circumstances. She's dealing with a difficult situation and deserves our support, not our mockery."
Riser raised an eyebrow, his smile still present on his lips as he looked at Sona.
Meanwhile, Rias tried to regain her composure in the face of the revelation of her engagement to Diodora. She felt a mixture of embarrassment and indignation at the situation.
"So that's why you didn't want to talk about my engagement," she murmured, her voice laden with frustration. "What does Riser know that will help?"
Akeno looked at Rias with a concerned expression, understanding her friend's distress in the face of the complicated situation she found herself in.
"It will depend on Sona and Riser," replied Akeno, her voice reflecting uncertainty. "They might have some ideas on how to handle this situation."
Meanwhile, Sona watched the interaction between Rias, Akeno, and Riser with a sinking feeling in her stomach. She knew that the revelation of Rias's marriage contract could cause problems, especially with Riser's arrogant attitude.
"What do you mean?" questioned Sona, her voice laden with concern. "I don't think either Riser or I have anything we can do about it."
As Merlin and Yubelluna climbed the stairs, Riser, on the other hand, remained calm and confident, watching the conversation with a smile of superiority on his lips.
"Riser-sama, everyone has already left," informed Yubelluna, her soft voice contrasting with the tense atmosphere of the room. "And you should see the DevilNet posts."
