DxD: Mechanic's Scrapyard

A street rat with an uncanny affinity for machines reincarnates into a world he, now she, has no knowledge of. Being a child again in the wrong gender at that was a bit weird, but that was nothing compared to finding out what sort of beings she was now living amongst. She shrugged her shoulders "Well as long as they don't mess with my scrapyard." --- Author Note: Just a disclaimer for those who don't like OP MC's, she will be pretty OP and I don't really like situations where stories forces the MC to go against someone they literally have no chance of winning against. For those curious about Romance? I don't know, pretty much nothing is planned, however if I do decide to try, the love interest will also be female. The Cover picture is Jona from Alchemy Stars.

Chapter 1 - It's... Beautiful

You know, being a street rat ain't that bad. If you're smart enough it's a pretty relaxing lifestyle. Promise. However it's also pretty dangerous, illness, starvation, hygiene, coldness, the- Well, the list goes on. I've seen many fall to these dangers and quickly learned to avoid them. Having been on the streets since I was young, well... safe to say I learned alot. For some reason I also picked things up quickly, which is why most of the dangers never applied to me.

Being quiet came to me naturally, I was never caught even standing right next to others, pickpocketing quickly followed allowing me to swipe wallets without anyone ever noticing. But the one thing I picked up the fastest... was machines.

Just looking at them I got a sense of how they worked, inner workings unraveling in a sort of mental map allowing me to learn what moved what, and which part was needed to rotate which way to get the results I wanted. Just holding them, whether complete machines or metal scrap from the junkyard showed me possibilities, a crank here and a twist there and an old microwave would become a heater. But not just that, some of the things in my head showed me how to do something outrageous, creating things that shouldn't have been possible. Well maybe it was, what do I know I didn't go to school, but even I know that turning a piece of gum, some copper wire, and some scrap parts of a radio into a radar capable of telling the monetary value of a persons current belongings is not normal... I had a superpower. And I... was awesome!

Well, safe to say I was fascinated, enraptured by all of the different possibilities, the sheer potential the parts just laying on the sidewalk could turn into with just a bit of tinkering. After a few years of of cataloging millions of different blueprints and seeing a plethora of different machines, I decided that my first real creation had to be the best, the most creative, and the most awesome creation the world had ever seen, unfortunately just as I had finished my ultimate creation, a machine that could turn anything, from cloth, to air to dirt, into chocolate that not only did not make you gain fat, but also gave you all the nutrients the body required to function at optimal condition. It also calibrated to your taste buds and mimicked the most delicious flavor mixed with chocolate for you, something happened. It wasn't my fault though, who told everyone else to be stupid.

I was too entranced by the awesomeness in my hands to notice the panicking in the surroundings, a few seconds later I was buried under rubble with my ultimate creation in pieces. I could feel my ribs poking my insides and it was getting harder to breathe, the blackness encroaching upon the edges of my vision only made me subconsciously focus on it harder."It was... beautiful..."

---

"You know, the afterlife is kinda boring."

Submerged in black as far as the eye could see and feeling like you're floating but also sort of swimming without having to breathe was a weird feeling and the novelty wore off after a while, now I'm just bored. Flailing around and singing "I believe I can fly~" can only be entertaining for so long, you know. Guess I can pretend to be an airplane for a while. "Nyoom~"

After what felt like a few minutes later, a sort of word which felt like it contained alot more nuances, intentions and meanings than what I was used to rang out.

[QUERY]

It took me a few seconds to sort out all the information the word contained, which basically translated to "What's up?"

"Nothing much, what about you?"

"Actually, what are you?"

"Are you an Outer God?"

"How's it feel being an Outer God?"

"Is there an Outer God council?"

"Do you go to the toilet as an Outer God?"

"How-

Watching the the being bombard [It] with questions even [It]'s mental processing was overwhelmed by, it reassessed it's threat level. [It] initially approached feeling something akin to familiarity in this sector of the void and was surprised to find a soul.

Not that souls were uncommon to come upon, but it could barely feel the strength of this one. Although, accessing it's post-cognition Sunats and finding it's previous home world, the being found that the strength of this soul was surprisingly comparable to fifteen of the world's average soul in terms of quantity and incomparable in it's quality.

It was even more surprised by something else, however.

---

"-you surf as an Outer God?"

[QUERY]

"Hmm? When I got my Sunat? I don't really know, what's a Sunat?"

[EXPLANATION]

"Huh, you learn something new everyday."

Welp, I guess I found out where I got my super ultra awesome powers from. Apparently Sunat's are an instinct driven concept of a power which sort of just floats around randomly until they find a host after which they bind themselves to their soul and their instincts switch to furthering the host's power. As for where they came from? They kinda just pop up randomly, they're pretty rare though and getting a good one is even rarer. And even *then*, the same powers could express themselves differently, something like [Powerful Punch] could be denting metal to punching through metal or punching through skyscrapers. It also styles itself in a way the host would be familiar with for ease of use. Now that I think about it, I wonder how an alien's Sunat would transfer information. Oh, and also, apparently I have the [Lord of Metal and All it's Creations] Sunat which would explain all my powers until now.

"Cool."

[QUERY]

"Sure, I'll visit you in the future if I get the chance, it was really boring here and I don't really know how to get out myself and thank you for the gift. See ya later then, bye bye~"

A sort of solid ring of iridescence appeared not far from me, rotating aroud it's edge was a series of runes or something. Shrugging my sort of shoulders I swam inside, it felt a bit like I'd jumped from a height for a few seconds before landing on solid ground sticking a perfect landing. I did not tumble... at all...
