I do not own DxD and it's characters so all the credits to it's original author. The story will have cultivation elements but most techniques used are from Dragon Ball, also not mine, credit goes to Akira Toriyama. I will use some jutsu as well so those credits go to Masashi Kishimoto, Bleach as well. There will be a harem, sorry to disappoint but it will not have too many members. The character is weak, who takes risks and precautions before becoming OP. No systems either Final Warning, MC will be reincarnated during the great war hence the cultivation tag. Thank You for Reading.

Chapter 1: Chaos Under The Moon

The worst situations befall those who least deserve it, there is no exception to this statement.

A village had recently faced a calamity within no more than one, devastating night. The once peaceful and cheerful land now had a gloomy aura looming above it.

The wooden houses had been destroyed and reduced to rubble. Some houses were charred, a clear indicator that they were set ablaze. This village was in such a crippling condition, shadow of it's former self.

A young figure walked through this ruin as he sang a haunting, but surprisingly catchy melody with sadness in his heart. The hollow feeling he felt in his chest had yet to vanish away, the dried up tears on his face.

"There's no way I can save you."

"Cause I need to be saved too."

"Am no good at goodbyes."

[A/N: Goodbyes by Post Malone]

The young child was about 4 years of age, his unruly, honey-blonde hair streaked with ash and smoke. His piercing crimson eyes were a bit dim, dark circles had already formed under his eyes.

His lean frame was clad in tattered, earth-toned clothing, and his feet were bare, dusty, and bruised.

He gazed up at the full moon in the sky, his body shivering from the turbulence, his lips shivering. To him, it was a was the only form of light in this vast darkness in his life, the stars as well.

He was mourning just like everyone in this village was. He looked up to the sky in melancholy as he recalled the events that took place last night that may have very well been the worst moment of his life.

He closed his eyes, trying to stop his tears from leaking out. It was supposed to be a night like any other, where he could spend time with his family.

It was once a beautiful village named Denbō, it was located in a valley, in the midst of mountains, houses with a touch of traditional Asian architecture, specifically Japanese.

It was a prosperous village, the population density was high due to the successful agriculture of the land.

However, a few men appeared in the sky above the village, their malevolent presence reeked of killing intent and they directly attacked us.

It was a hell on earth, in a frenzy they killed the villagers, seemingly relishing in such a cruel act. They destroyed everything they touched.

His father was no exception, he died right in front of his eyes, his final plea was that I survive at all costs.

He used his final breath to convey this last desire. He ran away as fast as he could, although he knew it was futile effort.

He ran with the crowd of panicking residents and watched them fall, one by one. No one was supposed to see such a brutal scene.

He was struggling to breathe, his heart beating fast, his breathing grew disheveled and his feet were sore. He never had the time nor the thinking capacity to grab his shoes. All he needed to do.... Was survive.

So long as they did not catch him he would be fine, then he could find his mother and escape.

The worst happened, they caught up to him. His death was so close he could feel it. The chilling sensation crawling up his spine.

The despair he felt as he gazed upon his father's killer. His death was just knocking on his doorstep.

At least that's what he thought. He doesn't know how but another being saved him and allowed him to escape.

As he stood there facing the dark sky with such a terrible atmosphere, he opened his mouth to utter his thoughts.

"So Angels and Devils exist in this world, why am I even here. At what timing!!?" He had a frown on his face. Anyone who saw did not even pay attention.

In such a world, one should be greatful that they are still breathing this very second.

You could die at any point in time here. There are beings who could casually destroy you with a breath, how is he going to live in such a world.

"Such perilous thoughts are not of any help right now." He had to survive in this world, if he cannot do so then he would apologize to his parents if he ever meets them.

He had only one thing to do, in such a world he had to strive to become stronger. He had to stop being lazy because it may be his downfall.

He felt the flame in his heart ignite as clenched his arms, the light to overcome this darkness forged from the grief he haboured.

He began walking through the village, passing by families that teared up at their loss. He slowed down and gave a sympathetic nod, they took care of him ever since he was here.

However, this also served to strengthen his budding resolve.

Why was a four year old so calm about having his father killed? It hurt him a lot, it really did, he should have gone insane but he still maintained his rationality anyway.

So why? Simple, because he was a reincarnator, so maybe that is why he has not gone down such a path.

He halted his steps and stood on the side of the road in deep thought, his thoughts unknown as he gazed at the chaotic landscape before eventually leaving the area.

He still needed to bury his dead, that is the least he could do for them since he failed to save his father due to his own ignorance.

A mistake he will never make again, not with his lived ones at the very least.

"I won't be so helpless the next time we are attacked. I will not allow anyone I care about experience this at all, if it is the last thing I do." Those red eyes from before filled with nothing but tears, now they were fueled by his passion.

"I will not fail to protect my mother, father."

Meanwhile, in sky above a figure stood, or hovered to be precise. He had one pairs of white wings. Only his voice could be heard.

"Interesting, wait till father hears this." Then teleported out of the area, leaving them cope with the recent events.
