'Does this mean I will really die here…?'

The second the thought crossed Kalle's mind, he instantly shook his head.

'No. I can't die here.'

He had almost died before, but Gilgamesh saved him by giving him power.

The power to keep himself and his sister safe in the world that had just changed.

A change that might bring doom to people on earth.

Kalle didn't want to die. He couldn't die. He must use the power given to him to stay alive and keep his only family safe.

'This power came from an existence that made mana from the portal seem so insignificant. It must have stronger abilities than a single creature coming from the portal.'

With that in mind, Kalle tried for the second time to break through the dark mana disturbance in his body.

Before, he was unsure whether he could move his own mana through the dark mana.

Hence all his attempts had miserably failed.

However, this time, Kalle moved his mana, pushing them with confidence and full faith in his own power.

His mana that kept on being pushed away and scattered by the dark mana finally won for the first time as they pushed the dark mana to the side, letting Kalle fill his feet with mana to enhance it.

Kalle smiled. He was really able to win against the dark mana if he tried hard enough and believed in his powers.

Even though the dark mana still tried to scatter away the mana gathered in his feet, with Kalle kept pushing them back, his feet were still filled with enough mana for him to enhance it.

Kalle was about to use the mana in his feet to jump away once again and get out of the village and back to the forest where he could use his guerrilla tactics once more.

But after sensing the movement of his own mana and the dark mana inside his body, Kalle realized something.

He kept on pushing away the dark mana so that they wouldn't meddle with his own mana in his feet.

His own mana was able to interact with the dark mana. His mana could push them away.

As more and more dark mana he pushed away, Kalle noticed that the amount of dark mana in his body started to dwindle at a visible rate when he pushed them out of his feet.

He then got an idea. 'Maybe I can do this…'

Kalle then moved his own mana once again.

But this time, instead of trying to fill up his feet with mana, Kalle purposely moved his own mana to focus on pushing away the dark mana out of his body.

The only goal in his mind while moving his own mana was to kick away the foreign mana that invaded his body.

The moment Kalle had that mindset and fully focused on dealing with the dark mana, dark smoke then began to ooze out of Kalle's body as the dark mana in his body was pushed outside.

'I can do it!'

Kalle then became more aggressive in his attempts to kick out the dark mana and more dark smoke came out of his body.

The more dark smoke that came out, the lesser dark mana remained in Kalle's body, and it became easier for him to move his own mana.

As a result, it became easier and easier for him to drive the dark mana out of his mana as his mana became easier for him to control.

Kalle was able to do it for several cycles before he was forced to stop before all the dark mana in his body was cleared.

The reason for that was the appearance of two goblins from the middle of the village.

The goblin warrior and the goblin mage, the two of them ran from the middle of the goblin village straight in his direction.

Kalle had indeed dashed in a straight direction before, but after that, he moved left and right to make sure that he wasn't as easily tracked by the goblin warrior.

However, the two of them just appeared out of nowhere and found him easily as if they knew where he was all this time.

Looking at the goblin mage who pointed his staff towards him while saying something to the goblin warrior, Kalle guessed that the goblin mage must have been the one who was aware of his position.

'Is it because of the dark mana he put inside me…?'

Kalle then shook his head. He didn't have the time to figure out how they could find him so fast. He had another important matter that he needed to tend to first.

The dark mana in his body was getting fewer and fewer and Kalle was confident that he could push them all out in one more cycle of pushing them out with his own mana.

However, he knew that he couldn't just ignore the two newcomers standing several meters away from him.

He believed the goblin mage would be able to do the same as him and sense mana to a degree.

If he just started focusing on manipulating his own mana and stood still, then it would definitely throw a fireball before telling the goblin warrior to come and knock his head with its wooden club.

Kalle quickly picked up a nearby rock beside his feet and activated enchant weapon on it.

Feeling that it wasn't enough, Kalle once again forced his own mana to fight back the dark mana trying to mess it up and used body enhancement on his hand.

The enhancement wasn't as strong as before as Kalle had to keep a portion of his focus and mana to ensure the dark mana didn't interfere with the mana in his hands, but it was still strong enough to do what Kalle wanted to do.

Aiming it in just under a second, Kalle stepped his foot out and rotated his hips while throwing the rock in his hand.

He aimed towards the goblin mage's chest, thinking the head would be hard to hit considering his lack of experience throwing projectiles.

And he was correct. He was bad at throwing projectiles.

Even though he wanted to at least hit the goblin mage in the chest, his throw missed its target as it was off by a few centimeters from the goblin mage's chest.

Fortunately, Kalle still got what he wanted from his utterly bad attempt at throwing.

The rock might not be able to hit the goblin mage, but due to the speed it was thrown at using his enhanced hand, and how the trajectory only missed the target by a few centimeters, the two goblins thought that it would hit the goblin mage.

In response, the goblin mage sidestepped while the goblin warrior jumped backward, making sure he stood in front of the goblin mage to make sure it didn't die.

The two goblins moved to dodge, which means that their attention was finally not placed fully on Kalle.

Using this moment, Kalle did the last cycle needed to kick out all the dark mana from his body.

Just right after he finished the cycle and cleansed all the dark mana from his body, the staff's voice rang in his mind.

'Congratulations, through your own effort, you have successfully created the skill, Dispel.'
