2 vs 1

'I don't think I can do 2 vs 1 with an unknown enemy…'

'The appearance of the unknown goblin that could cast magic. Pure magic that Kalle had never seen before really made him think about things twice.

He could move the mana in his body and he could sense them very clearly.

He could even manipulate them to use a skill and create his own skill.

However, what he had seen so far was mana's ability to enhance his strength and make him capable of having inhuman strength.

But that was it.

It was his first time ever seeing a fireball that could blaze a 10-meter-tall tree in seconds with its firepower. Heck, it was even his first time seeing a fireball.

He also didn't know what the unknown goblin did to the lone goblin, but Kalle could see with his own eyes how the goblin that was already half a step towards his grave returned to full health.

The wounds and damages he had done to the lone goblin all disappeared as the lone goblin now stood stall once again without a single scratch on his body.

Although the rampaging mana all around him had died down and the lone goblin didn't exude such an intimidating aura anymore, its battle experience was just something that Kalle couldn't ignore.

But most importantly, he didn't know what the unknown goblin, who seemed to be a goblin mage, was capable of doing.

The goblin mage might even be able to destroy his heart without touching him and Kalle might not know anything until he becomes a spirit that wanders around the goblin village.

Taking the risk of fighting a mage when he didn't have a single clue about all the things that mana, a spell, or magic was capable of doing was simply too dangerous for him.

He wanted to keep his sister from harm by closing the dungeon, but if it was at the cost of his own life, then Kalle might have to think of other ways to do that.

If he died, then no one would watch out for Vella and protect her in the world where red portals suddenly appeared and spit monsters out of them.

Be it going away out of town or going into hiding, Kalle would do everything to make sure that he and his sister were safe and could live happily.

With that consideration, he asked the staff.

'Staff, is there a way for me to leave this pla-'

Kalle couldn't even finish his question as his attention was suddenly pulled in a certain direction.

Kalle once again felt the gathering of mana, one that was similar to the one that he had just felt.

He turned his neck towards the goblin mage once again and saw that the goblin's mage staff was once again pointed towards him.

And his guess turned out to be correct.

After feeling the familiar sense of mana, another fireball appeared right in front of the staff before it flew towards him.

Kalle saw with his own eyes how the seemingly small fireball the size of a fist was capable of doing to a tree that was many times bigger than him.

He certainly didn't want to be set ablaze by such a thing.

He was even smaller than the tree, he might even be charred in just a few seconds if the fireball ever hit him.

So without wasting a single second to think, Kalle quickly activated his leap skill and jumped away from the fireball's trajectory.

The fireball once again missed its target and hit another tree, setting the tree ablaze and once again reminded Kalle of what would happen to him if he ever dared to take the goblin mage lightly.

However, different from before, Kalle wasn't so lucky to be able to think and breathe after dodging the second fireball.

He was so focused on dodging the attack that he didn't see the lone goblin had once again dashed forward in his direction after picking up a wooden club in the village.

The lone goblin might not have had his bone axe anymore, but the wooden club in the hands of a goblin that had rich battle experience was just as deadly.

Even an ordinary goblin could smash a person's head easily with the wooden club and the enchant weapon skill.

In comparison, the lone goblin who looked like a seasoned goblin warrior would definitely be able to do the same to Kalle, who was still an ordinary human with some powers.

Kalle quickly tried to regain his balance to try and intercept the goblin warrior's attacks, but he could only do so much with such a small amount of preparation time.

Moreover, he wasn't in any way an experienced fighter.

So when the goblin warrior closed in on him using several leaps, Kalle could only put his staff in front of him.

As a result, the goblin warrior was able to hit Kalle with its full power added to the momentum from its leap.

Kalle might have a very strong blow because his basic body enhancement only enhanced certain parts of his body.

Because of that, Kalle was able to use his brute strength to back the goblin warrior to a corner.

However, a focused enhancement also had its weaknesses.

Different from the goblin warrior who could enhance his whole body and make his whole body tougher, the only thing in Kalle's body that had inhuman power was his hands.

So when the goblin warrior hit him, the only thing that didn't shudder was Kalle's hands.

Before, he exchanged attacks with the goblin warrior and he was ready for any force that came from exchanging blows with it.

Although his body wasn't enhanced like the goblin warrior, the pure brute strength coming from his hands enabled him to keep his balance in check.

However, it was a different case when Kalle wasn't ready for what was coming at him.

His whole body shook and he felt his body balance being shaken.

Still, the inhuman strength in his hands pacified the force of the blow somehow and he was able to keep standing without stumbling.

But he could forget about attacking back as he utilized all of his efforts to regain his balance and deflect the follow-up attacks from the goblin warrior.

More and more attacks were coming from the seasoned fighter goblin warrior as every one of its moves flowed like water and attacks kept on coming.

If not for the superior strength in his hands, Kalle would have been long hit by the wooden club in the goblin warrior's hands.

The only thing that kept him alive was the fact that the goblin warrior didn't dare to make any reckless moves as it knew very well how strong Kalle was.

It had seen how the wielder of the silver staff had utterly destroyed its bone axes. Even with its berserk skill, the goblin warrior wasn't able to burst through Kalle's defense.

Now, without the berserk skill, he knew that it would be fortunate for it if it could even put Kalle in a constant defensive position, which he did right now due to Kalle being caught off guard.

The goblin warrior knew that It would be a waste of time and energy if it tried to do what it was currently doing alone.

However, it wasn't alone right now.

Kalle was so occupied with the goblin warrior that his high mana sense wasn't able to notice it sooner.

But when the mana gathered was huge enough, he finally took notice of it despite his attention being taken by the goblin warrior.

Kalle instantly knew that whatever would happen next, he couldn't stay occupied by the goblin warrior.

Kalle then used his leap skill twice to jump and break away from the goblin warrior's assault.

When he was finally able to take a single breath he glanced at the goblin mage that seemingly did nothing so far.

And what he saw made Kalle freeze in place.
