Trying to figure it out (4)

As we uncover things, the little things we knew so far, I discovered that little Alex had been inside this place for longer than me, ever since he saw that weird and majestic meteorite.

Also, I found out that he lives not so far away from my location, but closer to the forest where the incident happened. That could explain why he might be stuck in this place and not able to wake up. After talking to him, I began to think that it might be a range where some people might be affected, and I'm not so far away. Hence, I'm able to wake up. This theory is very interesting. I have to go see for myself in order to know better.

'But the thing that bothers me a lot is, why are those people or villagers acting like vegetables? Are they even real people? I mean, just think about this for a moment; there are monsters in the forest and crazy plants. Is this even real at this point?'

"Anyway, Alex, I'll see what I can do to achieve to learn more. I don't know what will happen when or if I'll wake up, so you don't need to worry, and don't do anything risky until we know more." And with that being said, I slowly see my eyes closing on me and opening in the real world, waking up and leaving Alex behind, feeling bad for the kid who's alone now. Also, a weird sync, but whatever.

I didn't get his address, just the area he lives in. I'll ask him tonight and check for myself, but in the meanwhile, I'm brewing a coffee with a sweet taste of vanilla. I'm not an expert on this, but at least I have a brew that I like made by me. It's not the best, and it's not the worst one I've made. I drink more milk and vanilla than the actual coffee, but it's tasty.

Today is Friday, and also today, I have more classes. Four classes with decent teachers, but the second one is Math with that very lovely teacher as a course. 'I know I can skip that, but again, this will affect how much I'll be able to achieve later. As everybody knows, if you miss a Math class, you'll see Chinese on the next one, so yeah... I'm staying.'

In the first class, we had Labor Law with a lovely, very funny, and smart teacher. Nothing out of the ordinary happened during this seminar.

I see Marian ahead, and I'm thinking if I should tell him about this, but I will tell him only when I know I can control this. I don't even know if this even has a way to control. I'm very blind in this situation.

"Hi, Marian, doing great? How are you still even here? You know what I mean?"

"Nothing else to do, and it's not really worth in going home and being there for 5 minutes and then returning. I'd rather stay back and watch some anime or just some memes on the internet."

"Come on, I will be busy during finals, and I don't know for sure I will be able to help you then to learn the Math from this semester. Just try, it won't hurt!"

"Naaah, thanks, but I'm good. I prefer to watch Rick and Morty. If he doesn't care about us, I won't care about him."

I decided not to pursue because when I try to push him to try to pay attention, he'll just look with a mad face at me for the rest of the class and reproach me.

The remaining three classes, including Math, passed like crazy fast, either because I was thinking about what I can do to help that poor kid and what I can do not to have that mess from yesterday happening again while also attending those three classes.

As I left, I decided to make a detour and go to that abandoned house near the exit of the city, but not even close to that forest in order to try to see if I can make that fire again, but in a somehow controlled environment and the most important thing, not in public.

So, in order to see if that happened from my end, I sit on a log and try to remember how that finger grew fire on me, in the first place. All I know for sure is that the teacher was on my nerves. Maybe I should think about something that annoys me at the moment.

Nothing comes to my mind that could bother me right now. Pfff! Ok, what if I breathe in and breathe out and chill myself? I saw that works in movies and TV series.

So, I stand up and inhale a big sip of air with my eyes closed, and slowly exhale, and again, inhale… and exhale.

Again, inhale and exhale.

Eventually, I start to feel dizzy from exhausting my lungs. I know I am not a gym guy.

And, to my surprise, two girls were watching me with creepy eyes.

"What the heck is that guy doing here all by himself? And is it just me, or is he weirder than usual? Hey, Marie, isn't this guy from your class or something?"

"No, Danela, this guy is from my university. I usually don't talk to him, but we've got some courses together. I think his name was Stefan?"

'And breathe in and breathe out. I'm starting to feel it, or it's just my tired ass from this.'

"I think we should leave him before he sees us!"

"Yes, we should, and let's head to my home. I don't want to be recognized, even if we share some classes."

As both of them were leaving, one of them noticed a light coming from their back as they had their back to me. Marie turned and saw nothing and asked the other one, "Did you see anything coming this way?"

"No, should I?"

"Nnno, you should not, it was just my imagination."

And with that, they left.

Returning to my POV, I retrieved my belongings and sat on another log, then headed home. As soon as I arrived, I threw the bag onto the bed and got something to eat.

A while later, I decided to browse the net regarding the meteorite, maybe there's someone who also saw it, besides me and Alex, and noticed weird things.

As I scrolled the internet, I was unable to find any information related to my subject of interest, not even from social media. This is very alarming. But... maybe the government doesn't want to tell the public yet.

The next one might come at a later date, so I did it a little bit longer.
