Female Pharine's are especially fertile in their younger years from the age of eighteen to twenty three. They are so ripe for bearing offspring, especially in the months of spring, that intercourse with another male Pharine is almost guaranteed to result in conception. Inter-breeding with human partners is also likely to bear fruit during this age range, although more prone to suffer from miscarriage. My studies have shown that human/pharine hybrids are often prone to inherit the traits of the mother. Meaning a female Pharine bonding with a human male will result in a child with striking similarities to its mother's bloodline. Wheres a female human mating with a Pharine male will result in a more human child. While male Pharine's never lose their potency, a female Pharine will reach their matron years at the age of thirty. At this point breeding is rare, the oldest conception on record belonging to a female no older than thirty four. Because of this, Pharine's are expected to breed as often as possible during their mating seasons.
Marriage is a sacred ritual for Pharine society, and often reserved for special circumstances, in accordance to their gods. It certainly isn't required for mating, in and of itself. During the Pharine mating seasons, a female will search for a mate with great interest. Should one be found, it isn't uncommon for the parents to go their separate ways once the child has been born. Should the parent's remain together they will be known as bandmates, and will remain together for the rest of their lives.
