Sorcery 101

Amirax laughed lightly.

"Yes, you truly are awful at the Sorcery of Names.

However, there is a way you could perform your summonings without having to even talk."

This made the red haired teenager perk up.

"I'm listening."

"Alright..."

Amirax begun.

"There are three major types of sorcery and countless minor ones.

One of the major ones, would be the Sorcery of Names, the easiest one to perform out of them all.

Next, we would have the Sorcery of Casting.

This one is mostly used in elemental spells, it only involves the arduous process of summoning your own body mana and using it to directly create an enchantment.

It is the second strongest form of sorcery there is.

The third one, is the Sorcery of Runes.

Created by yours truly, the most powerful sorcerer to ever grace the Floating Isles, the most hand..."

Tai rolled his hazel eyes.

"Get on with it!!"

Amirax gave the teenager a disgruntled look, and then sighed as he continued.

"...Runic sorcery simply involves using mana strings to weave enchantments.

While not being as simple as that of Names where you would simply call out an enchantment for it to happen, Runic sorcery is the most versatile.

Do you understand, strange boy?"

Tai folded his arms as he recollected his impromptu class.

"Ok, so in basic, Runic sorcery is just me drawing runes using mana, Sorcery of Names, is simply calling out the name of a spell, and Casting sorcery is me directly creating the spell from my own mana?"

Amirax smiled brightly.

"Exactly!, If I wasn't already a PeaceKeeper, I would have made a perfect teacher!"

The red haired teenager frowned slightly, shaking his head.

It was almost time for classes to begin.

"We will continue after I'm done with classes.

See you later then,... spirit that came out of a sword."

***

The classes were uneventful, at least that was how Tai felt as he was eagerly waiting for the closing bell.

He had just discovered a method of summoning that didn't involve screaming out the name of what he were summoning like he was in an anime, after all.

Not to mention that it was his last chance to at least get a single point at the monthly assessment test.

Luckily for Tai, the day seemed to run quite quickly.

Nothing new happened anyway, it was just getting called names, getting laughed at, being unable to summon anything, and lamenting his Affinity.

Soon, he found himself in the solace of his room.

Smiling broadly, the sword wraith cracked his knuckles.

"Let's begin, then."

Amirax was soon busy demonstrating the process of drawing runes, and are the same time explaining what runes were used in summoning, while Tai focused intently and absorbed the information like a sponge.

By night fall, Tai was confident on his ability to draw at least one rune.

Stretching his fingers, the red haired teenager closed his eyes and tried to remember what the sword wraith had said.

"First, establish a connection between the object, and your energy."

Tai quickly expended his energy towards the pencil, soon, when he could feel energy flowing back from the pencil, he smiled and continued the next step.

"Next, when the connection has been established, you gently draw the summoning rune to link it to your soul space, but be careful else you could..."

Before the wraith could finish, Tai had already cut the energy flow to draw the rune, however as soon as he had finished tracing the weird shape on the surface of the pencil, the connection cut and the pencil crumbled into dust.

"... destroy it."

Tai had failed to draw the runes, but he was glad nontheless.

After all, he had learnt runic sorcery.

Runic sorcery would definitely give him a great advantage against the others as they had to call out the true name of whatever they wanted to summon, but he would simply draw a rune and what he wanted to summon would manifest itself.

This would mean that he would not waste time pronouncing the name of the summon and swiftly just draw a rune.

If he were to gain a mastery of runic sorcery eventually, wouldn't that mean that he could be able to summon any level of object?

Summoners were usually limited to being able to summon objects of a lower level.

An Awakened level beast summoner, for example, would only be able to summon the most basic of beasts, while a supreme level beast summoner would be able to summon any supreme level beast and other levels under it.

But he was a divine level items summoner, that meant that he would eventually be able to summon any level of object.

From high level swords, to low level watches.

If anything, he could learn to summon all his basic needs and live very comfortably where ever he found himself at.

"Maybe summoning is not as trashy as I thought it was."
