More Than A Bad Idea (91)

Queen Drizzle burst through the doors of Fire King Castle with a fearful expression. She looked as if she hadn't slept in days and her long wavy hair was frazzled, giving her usual elegant and graceful face a crazy and unhinged vibe.

King Skewer was startled by the appearance of the woman that burst through his doors.

"Begone foul demon!" he said raising his hand and materialising a sword made completely from fire.

"It's me! Queen Drizzle!" she said, rapidly walking towards him.

King Skewer made a gagging sound.

"She's even more hideous than I thought!" King Skewer shouted initiating a defensive posture.

Advisor Sizzle, who was standing close by the King snickered, starting to giggle as she saw the Queen's disturbing appearance.

She really did appear as if she had seen the birth of a demon.

Queen Drizzle didn't say anything but narrowed her brows, her face becoming extremely cold as her anger grew in ways only a woman could.

King Skewer immediately stifled his laughter and motioned for Sizzle to give them so space.

She willingly obeyed.

Queen Drizzle exhaled sharply as worry was painted all over her face, quickly alerting King Skewer that the matter at hand was extremely serious.

Queen Drizzle was a very proud and self-sufficient person unless a situation was thoroughly out of her league she would go to great lengths to try and solve the problem herself.

Meaning that she hadn't come to King Skewer's palace to merely exchange words.

There was a big problem at hand.

"What happened?" he asked cautiously, bracing himself for any bad news.

"Broly told me he wanted to go to the Lightning Tribe mines and when we were halfway there, he said he wanted to see the Super Lightning Crystal," Queen Drizzle said carefully.

King Skewer's eyes widened, that 'Broly' creature was already more powerful than he was and recently he, himself, had obtained the Super Fire Crystal, unlocking hidden powers.

He couldn't imagine how strong that beast was now.

"How did he find out!?"

"He said he heard from an old friend"

"An old friend? Who's that supposed to be?!" King Skewer called out, unable to remain calm.

"My best guess is that travelling warrior woman, I remember her vaguely and Broly and the woman both have the same kind of tail," Queen Drizzle said analytically.

"Do you think they're from the same race?"

"It's not impossible"

King Skewer gritted his teeth and closed his eyes before breathing out calmly.

"What did you do," he said, his voice containing grit that caught Queen Drizzle off guard.

"Well, while he was absorbing the energy from the Super Crystal, I tried to kill him," she said quietly.

King Skewer eyes expanded widely, his pupils shrinking to the size of needles.

He wasn't the brightest bulb in the basket but even he could tell that the creature who abused his men should not be trifled with at all. If Broly commanded him to strip naked and run laps around the city, he would not hesitate to do so as long as it ensured the safety of his people.

Yet for some reason the Queen went out of her way to offend somebody who should not be offended.

"Are you a fucking idiot?!" King Skewer roared, waves of ki involuntarily coming out of his body causing flames to grow out of his armour.

Queen Drizzle recoiled under the aggressive image of King Skewer, the prim and proper man who appeared on the battlefield now gone.

"And I was stupid enough to think you were one of the smarter leaders of Mentels! Why the fuck would you try to kill him?" he cried outraged.

"Because he is a threat to our people!" Queen Drizzle shouted defensively.

King Skewer became quiet, leaning back into his throne but his eyes kept the same anger and roaring disdain from his shouts.

"So why are you here?" he said slowly.

Queen Drizzle gritted her teeth, hating the look of idiocy that King Skewer gave her but she could not argue at all.

"Whether it is a secret ability of his race or not, I don't know, but somehow he used the lightning energy from the crystal to evolve his own biology, becoming so much stronger that I can't even get a scope, even from here I can still sense his ki," she said bitterly.

King Skewer chuckled wryly, staring at the ceiling while bringing his hand to his forehead.

"You've doomed us all"

Queen Drizzle's eyes turned icy.

"There has to be something we can do!"

"Like what?" King Skewer said, his tone almost self-deprecating.

"Maybe if we combine our armies then-"

SLAP!

A harsh impact shuddered across Queen Drizzle face, the first time she had been slapped in her whole life. She stared at King Skewer in awe before opening her mouth to say something.

"You have been stronger than me for sixty-eight years, seven months, twelve days and four hours," he said slowly, closing his eyes as he spoke.

"On the battlefield, we were unable to kill each other meaning that our strengths equalled momentarily," he continued.

"King Grill who is stronger than you and me by at least a quarter was brutally murdered without scratches, his ashes unable to be detected"

"You don't need to be a leading mathematician in the art of strategy to understand the situation," he said breathing out breathily.

"And so for what reason, do you choose to endanger your own life as well as that of your people?"

"What do you suggest?" Queen Drizzle said coldly and harshly.

King Skewer sighed, his angry expression melting like cheese on a grill.

"Sizzy!" King Skewer called out.

'Sizzy?'

Advisor Sizzle came back immediately, her face flushed.

"Y-Yes my lord?"

"Is the sword ready?"

"Nearly my lord, the royal blacksmith is still making repairs," she said cooly.

"Perfect! Take Queen Drizzle to him, she's going to make a generous contribution so that we can gift it to Broly," he said looking back at her to gauge a reaction.

Queen Drizzle's face crumpled but she remained silent and obediently followed, still holding her hot face.

King Skewer relaxed into his chair and steadied his breathing.

'We can only beg him to go easy on us, the entire Planet is completely at his mercy,' he thought wearily, sighing out once more.
