Harpy

Sammy's pov: Back when the group was locked in battle with the elephant-like beast, Sammy felt he was just another vampire he would die in the middle of nowhere while trying to save a vampire noble.

At this point, his short life came flashing in quick succession in his eyes. Quickly, he activated his ability and turned invisible, doing his best to stay alive and out of danger.

Finally, when they saw elena laying flat on the ground with zero knowledge about whether or not she would live or die, Sammy made a resolve that no matter what happened he was going to survive this mission and not die in the vast lands of beasts and undead creatures.

When the lead guard ordered for them to move out and abandon Elena, referring to her as a simple sacrifice for the greater good, Sammy resolved in his heart that he would survive no matter the cost, even if it means him sacrificing the others.

When it came to picking a side between the guards and zareth's team, Sammy decided to go with the guards for obvious reasons.

First, the guards were stronger. By his analysis, he had a better chance of survival by sticking close to the guards, and if everything goes as planned he would not only walk out of here alive but he will also be compensated greatly by Lord Antoine.

moving deep into the forest, Sammy and uti followed behind the two guards. They walked for several hours nonstop before coming across seven giant odd looking rocks that were placed together to form a circle.

On the rocks were several rune patterns, patterns none of them could decipher. seeing these rocks, Sammy, with a sense of foreboding, suggested they moved as far from the rocks as possible.

much to his dismay, the guards, as well as Uti, all ignored his warnings, putting their entire focus on the rocks.

The next moment, Sammy and the others all heard a loud screeching sound that made the hairs on their bodies all stand still.

Quickly, Sammy turned to the east. With his vampires eyes, he could see several hundred metres ahead. in the sky, a large winged creature was making its way towards them with great speed.

"Run, hide, take cover!" Sammy spat out several commands at once, knowing fully well that whatever that creature is, it is best to flee instead of engaging it head on.

After saying this, he activated his ability and turned invisible before running towards the rock with the hope of hiding and concealing his presence from the incoming creature.

Seeing Sammy turn invisible without a trace, the lead guard began hauling curses at Sammy. "shit, shit, of course the b**tard will run away instead of fighting. what the F is this, shit I'm not ready to die here today, the F."

No matter the insults, the lead guard hauled at Sammy for ditching them the moments things went south, Sammy ignored and said nothing as if he wasn't around their vicinity anymore.

Uti's pov: seeing how fast things were developing, Uti decided to go all out. Although he was equipped with a full armour set, he quickly activated his ability, hardening his entire body underneath the armour he was wearing.

As if that wasn't enough, he also covered his entire armour with another layer of vampiric energy, thereby increasing his defence before erecting a condensed wall of vampiric energy around himself.

Seeing this, Sammy shook his head. Fools, just from the screeching sound alone, he could tell whatever beasts was coming was way above the legendary tier, instead of running these lots decided to face it head on. Dream on, he had seen foolish people, but somehow, these guards have made it to the top of that list.

Another deafening sound was heard from the creature once again, this time the sound having more effect on every one of them, only now did they realise their mistake.

The first sound from the creature had only sent shivers down their spines, now that the creature was only a few meters away from them, they realised that the sound in itself was an attack aim at their very core.

As if on queue, they all spurted a mouth full of blood simultaneously .this included Sammy, who was hiding amongst the giant rocks.

It was at this point that they got a clear look at what they were up against. The creature had the face and body of a beautiful woman, with the wings and claws of an eagle.

Seeing the features of the creature the lead guard hissed before cursing at his ill luck. of all the creature to attack them, it has to be an harpy. how on planet zuk are they going to defeat a beast at the demigod tier he wondered.

It was common knowledge that the harpy was a

very aggressive and greedy creature that will kill just for the fun of killing and nothing more.

Vampires who were only in the mage Rank stood no chance in the presence of creatures such as the harpy. right now, they were all thinking about how things would have been different if only they had run like Sammy suggested.

Realising how bad things were looking, Uti cleaned the side of his lips with the back of his palm before channelling his vampiric energy towards the harpy in the form of a fist strike.

The Harpy took the attack head on without dodging, and it did next to no damage to it. Seeing this, Uti was stunned for a moment, but he quickly regained his composure, and he began hauling different types of attacks towards the creature.

At this point, the two guards also joined uti in sending out different attacks, with the hopes of causing little damage before they die.

After taking all their attacks head on, the harpy flapped his massive wings, generating enough wind that sent all three of them crashing into the rocks behind them.

Not giving the vampires a breather, the harpy flapped her wings once more, generating a wind base attack that cleanly sliced off the head of the two guards like butter.

When the attack came in contact with uti, it wasn't able to cut through him due to his hardening ability. But he still felt the impact nonetheless.

standing up on his feet, Uti managed to send out another vampiric attack that dealt little to no damage on the harpy.

letting out a deafening cry once more, the harpy descended from the sky with great speed using her claws to separate his head from her body.

seeing the lifeless bodies of her victims, the harpy began laughing like an evil maniac before carrying the bodies with her claws while she flew back to wherever it was she had come from.

Sammy waited for several hours before deciding to leave the area. Even though he had the invisibility ability, he still wanted to be sure that the creature was no longer around, just in case the creature had other means of noticing him.

feeling the wetness in his hands, Sammy realised a large portion of the blood he had spurted not quite long had stained his palms.

with a look of disgust, he decided to clean his hands on the giant rock that was close to him. The moment he placed his hands on the rock, the rock surface began absorbing the blood on his palm with a hissing noise.

He tried to pull his hands away from the rock, but it felt like they were glued to the rock. unable to move his hands, Sammy began kicking the rock with great strength.

After kicking the rock for the hundread time, the ground quaked beneath his feet, and then dark clouds covered the sky.

from each rock in the circle, dark shadows began sipping out, with every one of them slowly making their way towards Sammy, who was oblivious to their presence.
