"Hello?" I hear Gabi's voice

"Be right down!" I yell as I slip my socks on

I walk down the stairs to see Gabi with two McDonald's bags

"Three bacon and egg Mcmuffins with four hash browns and a strawberry banana smoothie," she says handing me a bag and a drink

"Thank you," I say taking the bag and walking over to the couch with my food and I sit

Gabi sits down beside me and I turn my TV on and turn Netflix on

"What movie?" I asked taking my food out of the bag

"What about Uptown girl?" She says sitting back pulling out here food and setting the bag down beside her putting her food on top of the bag

"Ok," I say looking up the movie

"dude that looks like Matt just with longer hair" I say spitting my drink out

"I don't see it" Gabi says leaning back, "are you joking it does just longer hair and an accent" I say pausing the movie on the character

I look at the time I look over to see Gabi asleep

"Gabi!" I yell she jumps up and glares at me

"I'm going start getting ready for work I need to wash my uniform quickly," I say rushing upstairs to grab my uniform

"Didn't you just start yesterday?" Gabi asks

I hold my shirt up showing the gross dark spot on my scrub top

"What happened?" She asks laughing

"Drunk patient came in last night and just as I turned his to check his heart she vomited all over me it took 3 showers to get rid of the horrid smell," I say walking to the closet where my washer and dryer were

I throw them in and rush upstairs to make sure I had my stuff ready

I walk back downstairs to see Jay and Gabi talking

"Hey thought I'd bring lunch came in an Gabi said you were getting ready," he says holding a bag of Chinese food

"Oh thanks," I say taking the food "so I'm guessing you're on your break?" I ask taking the food out

"I'll let you two have some alone time," Gabi says throwing away our garbage from breakfast

"Ok see you after," I say kissing her cheek and walking her to the door

"how was your morning?" I ask as we sit at the table

"Good and eventful" Jay says sitting beside me

"So can you talk about the case or no?" I ask sitting up and grabbing the carton on food

"Not much just a shooting their was like 19 victims, they all were GSW victims they all had to go to Med and I don't know if any of them made it, I was going to go check on them after I leave here" he says

"I'll be sure to update you when I get to work" I smile grabbing his hand

"thanks, what time do you work at today?"

"2 to 11" I say hearing my washing machine going off

"I'll be right back I'm just washing my extra uniform" I jump up running a few steps over to the closet and quickly throwing my uniform into the dryer

"How is my brother treating you at work, do I need to rough him up for you?" Jay laughs as I make my way back to the table

"he's good really showing me the ropes on how Chicago Med works we are hopefully releasing Jenelle soon her seems to be responding well to the medication we have her on right now" I say "but noted and if Antonio ever gives you a hard time I know how to get him to smarten up" I wink laughing

I get up and grab my water bottle and fill it with some ice and water, I sit back down and Jay speaks up

"you know you and Gabi look so much a like" he says pushing my hair back behind my ears

"ya we were told that a lot as kids she is 2 years older but as kids we were told we could pass as twins" I laugh thinking of how many people told as that as kids

"it's uncanny" he laughs grabbing his food and finishes eating

"So Kennedy where do you get your name from?" Jay asks I look up "Kennedy, my parents had troubles and it was Gabi who chose my first name there was girl in her class, they were best friends but she passed away from cancer after Gabi said it my parent loved it and so they chose Kennedy" I say "and Isabella is after our moms sister, she is my best friend and I couldn't imagine my life without her" I smile

"Have you talked to your aunt since you got home?" Jay asked looking up at me, I nod " I called her as soon as I arrived in Chicago, she picked me up from the airport and went for coffee before she dropped me off at the firehouse" I say smiling

"enough talking about me Gabi said you were deployed over seas a few years ago" I say looking up at him

"ya it was rough over there, a lot of sleepless nights wondering if I would make it back here to Chicago or at least back to the states" he says looking down, I stand up and hug him, he pulls me onto his lap and we sit there for a few minutes before he pulls away

"I'm sorry I brought it up" I say leaning my head on his shoulder holding onto his arms as his arms were wrapped around my torso with his head laying on top of mine

"it's ok its nice to talk get it out of my system every now and then" he says kissing my forehead
