Colliding Dimensions

"What's going on? Are you going to pull me into your pocket dimension again?" I asked, sort of tense of being ripped out of my sense of reality.

[Quiet down you idiot!] He hissed. [Or do you want all of Vale to hear you? While you're here on campus, know that these walls hear everything you say! If you weren't the only one that could hear me I wouldn't even chance talking to you like this.]

'Then how in the world do I talk to him?'

[You already are genius. Remember? Since we share the same mind, my thoughts are your thoughts when I come over and vice versa.]

Not wanting to be seen in the middle of the hallway and risk being spotted as suspicious, I walk to my door and after unlocking it I stepped inside. The room was spacious as the roof was at least ten feet high off the ground and was big enough to fit at least twelve queen sized beds wall to wall. There were three beds in total in the room, which says a bit about my soon to be roommates.

'Alright then, now tell me what exactly you needed to tell me that you even snuck up and spied in on one of my conversations.'

[Always straight to the point. That's what I like about you Condor, always about the mission and almost never get distracted.]

'David!'

[Anyway back on to the topic at hand. I need you to stop the insurrection before you even think about dealing with Salem, and yes. I am already aware you have no idea who she is, but don't worry, that is why I am here now. To let you in on the most important parts so you don't fail on our contract. So listen up and maybe you'll learn something new about the world hidden in the shadows around you.]

At the same time as listening to him explain to me all that Qrow had done to the underworld I learned so much. He told me of the war my father was practically raging on his own trying to find the Maidens so that he could destroy the problem at the root. Salem. She was responsible for all the Grimm that plague this world. Living organisms that are created for the sole purpose of killing, consuming and chaos. But David had found a way to turn these creatures for the good of Remnant. They could be used to be canon fodder in battle, instead of wasting innocent lives. They could be used to fight those who are committing crimes such as human trafficking, drug smuggling, and even help in construction with those bodies that never deal with running out of stamina. The possibilities of using them is endless. Even the largest Grimm could hold an entire village on its back, protecting it from bandits and thieves hoping to score a permanent base to constantly rob merchants on the road.

And the greatest part is that it all can be controlled by one person. Me. Qrows very own son. Able to help him control this epidemic by turning a curse into a blessing. The same plague that was used to kill, could be used as a cure for all of mankind. And it could potentially put an end to the reign of terror committed to the Faunus. Thus ending the terrorist attacks against innocent humans hopefully forever. But a utopia isn't so easily realized when others get in the way of progress.

'So where do I start, should I just take the maidens powers and fight this Salem woman on my own?'

[No. Their powers can only be transferred to another female. No idea why, but I suspect that it has something to do with the type of soul that gets regenerated. But you can't fight Salem by yourself, unless you absolutely have to. And trust me when I say, she is very powerful compared to you right now. I barely fought off one maiden alone at one point over a disagreement. She took on all four at one time and barely lost. If I hadn't stepped in, the maidens would've been goners by now.]

'Wait a minute, can't your dimensions maidens just come and kill Salem and give me her power? Seems simpler that way doesn't it?'

[And give you a planet for free that you didn't even have to work for? Even if I could do that I wouldn't.]

Stingy guy.

'You can't?'

[I mean I could, but reality would collapse in on itself. And not only the planet would be at stake but all dimensions that I encountered would be at risk. And if reality stops existing, so would I. Now I may have gotten hundreds if not thousands killed, but it was for the sake of saving billions. And I can't just bring myself to commit the ultimate suicide of the universe. Even if it keeps me up at night, that's irresponsible if I do say so myself.]

While thinking over all of this new information there was a big question that would not leave me alone. Where exactly do I start now that I know all of this?

[Well, if you wish to know where to start, I suggest you try and broaden your horizons from thievery to espionage. It will come in handy in the coming battles against Salem.]

'Who should I spy on then? Is there anyone here who is connected to her in some kind of way?'

[Try your old colleagues. Ones you used to do business with before all of this went down. If you play your cards right it'll lead directly back to her.]

'Psh. Is that what you call this? And easy enough for you to say, I'm the one that'll be stuck with homework and a mission to double cross my own partners.'

I thought as I got ready to lay down. Then the connection I felt as we were communicating faded away from the back of my mind.

*Sigh* 'Today was an eventful day. Wonder what tomorrow will bring me. Anyway, by the way he spoke it was as if those two will be coming here. Perhaps they're looking for something worth stealing? Now if I was a thief, and I was, what would I want to steal the most and most importantly why?' As I laid on my freshly kempt bed, I started to brainstorm about all the possible things I could steal from all sorts of people who attended the school.

" I guess I'll have to make a list of all the major ballplayers who sent their kids here. If I'm not mistaken there are a few chosen students whose parents are bigwigs here. Let's see on Twitter what the news is as of right now."

Lo and behold after a few swipes and a few clicks I had what I was looking for.

It was a video of Weiss Schnee getting exploded with her luggage full of all sorts of dust it was a surprise that none of them accidentally died while being recorded. The caption read, "Schnee Dust Meltdown". It had over ten million views and was the most trending thing in the last hour. In it I saw Ruby practically talked down to like a child and sneezing dust into the ice princess' face, causing a mild explosion of fire electricity and ice.

'That's what you get for messing with the Rose family. Wait, speaking of which, is Ruby even my sister still? My mother, Summer Rose, is now deceased and didn't leave like TaiYang had told me. That means her husband was Qrow and they had children. And the only children with their hair color is me and Ruby. Do I assume we're still siblings? I'm not sure anymore.' I tucked my knees under my chin and contemplated.

'No. I can't be thinking about any of this now, I need to focus. Weiss Schnee has a dirtload of Dust just lying in wait in her room, and its all there for the taking. Cinder told me that she only needed the dust to pay me off, but this is the only reason I see her being here....Unless. The Maidens! David had said that they could be transferred from female to female. Is Schnee one of them? Probably not, but it wouldn't hurt to make sure. Great now I need to find all the most likely subjects that could be a maiden.' I stretched out and let out a deep yawn.

"Just great. Now I need to make another list. My first night and I already have homework."

When I had finished researching the most skilled female hunters in training I skimmed over it one more time to double check to see if I had missed anyone worth noting.

"Let's see here," I said as I set the paper on the table next to my bed.

First on the list is Pyrrha Nikos. She's the most skilled and popular soon to be Huntress on campus. More likely than most she is the top candidate for the role of head maiden. I'd bet my top dollar she could go toe to toe with me in a fight of pure skill and grit.

Second goes to a Nora Valkyrie who can weild a hammer/grenade launching battle axe. Not to mention she can harness electricity to further enhance her power and strength. She doesn't hold the same popularity as Pyrrha but you'd have to be blind to not notice that type of talent.

Third is heiress to the Schnee Dust Company Weiss Schnee. She is not as talented as the first two but that doesn't mean she doesn't have the potential to having great power. She utilizes dust through her rapier sword and can enchant her attacks with it causing considerable damage.

Fourth would have to go to a Velvet Scarlatina. A faunus whose weapon is a camera.....No seriously her weapon is a camera. And whatever weapon she takes a picture of, that is the weapon she yeilds for a short period of time. Pretty self explanatory there. She's on the list.

And finally the number five slot goes to Yang. As much as I look at it she also is pretty durable, has the power to back up her words, and can pack quite a punch at anything that moves. Especially when she gets angry enough and turns up the heat.

I have alot of work to get done by tonight. First things first, I need to find out where they're keeping all of the students luggage. Secondly I need to steal all, if not half of Weiss' dust stash. And finally, I need to keep an eye out for Cinder and co. Wouldn't want to blow my cover with them and possibly ruin what I've been building for the past three years. I do not want all that hard work to go down the drain.

Which reminds me, I need to keep continuing my research on dust manipulation and get my project on the move again. I had a couple of setbacks but I can't disregard my original plan either. Testing if manipulating dust can bring a person to become an evolved, enhanced state of being.

But I can't start my experiments until I get my equipment, the ones that Beacon said could have been a hazard to other students, gets delivered to my room.

Speaking of which, shouldn't my roommates have gotten here already? Its almost been a full hour since I've looked over all the females stats and abilities on campus. Not to mention the hallways sound eerily quiet. Don't tell me that I made a huge blunder on not going to the entrance ceremony.

I checked on twitter to check on where other students were being held and lo and behold, a few posts showed crowds gathered in an auditorium in their pajamas with captions reading: Hashtag biggest sleepover ever. Meaning the first night of school will be held in there until we get sorted into teams. I don't know why my pamphlet told me my room number if its going to be changed anyway but I guess this works for my benefit. At least I got some peace and silence to fully brainstorm about all of this. Usually Rubes or Yang would be interrupting me by now, giving me no time to think. Only downside is I need to go gather my clothes that I had just put away and put them in the private locker in the locker room. *Sigh* Why me?

1 hour later:

Now that that is done let's go get that dust from-

"There you are! We've been looking everywhere for you!"

Oh no...

I turned and seen Ruby with Yang by her side running up to greet me.

"You will not believe what happened to me today! First, you went missing, then Yang abandoned me to go with her friends, then this girl yelled at me alot, then I-"

I raised my Scroll screen in front of her face showcasing her exploding in front of Weiss.

"Its on Twitter?! Over Twelve million views already?! My life is over!"

She began to sulk due to her social life going down the drain.

"At least that uptight wannabe princess got what she deserved," I mumbled enough for the two to hear me.

"Now now, let's not jump the gun here, for all we know she could be a possible friend sometime in the future. Huntresses and Hunters were meant to be able to work together in unity, not in hatred towards one another." I'm guessing Yang could feel my disdain for the girl even though my emotions usually stay in check most of the time.

"Tell that to her why don't ya. She didn't seem like the friendly type." Ruby was toying with her weapon, about to put it away in her locker across from mine. "She seemed pretty mad at me too. All I wanted was for her to stop yelling at me."

Once we were done we began to walk back to the auditorium.

"So Dougie how was your day since you left us earlier?" Ruby asked, probably to get her mind off of her own problems.

"I had a decent day so far. Met someone who was nice to me and we talked for a while."

"Ooooh our little baby brother is getting all grown up!" Yang fist bumped me in the arm.

"All I said was that she was nice. Don't take it out of proportion now." I started to walk faster trying to get to my bed as fast as possible. If I didn't I'd never hear the end of it all.

"At least we now know it's a girl." Ruby started to play along with Yang. "Maybe we can all be friends? It sure would be nice since we left our old ones back home. That's the only downside to skipping a full year ahead. What does she look like anyway?"

"Well, she was wearing a white vest with a black corset and high boots with a black bow on top of her head." I began to explain in detail what the girl looked like and laid out my futon on the floor.

"Her name is Blake Belladonna. She....she was really something ya know?"

I couldn't even come up with the words to describe what had happened earlier.

"Wait a minute, isn't that her over there?"
