When she knew, she was determined to latch on. And life gave her the perfect solution. Barely a month after they were
Thinking of her broke ex-husband, she couldn't help but capitalise on the difficulty for warriors to have children.
As expected, when she brought it up to Arnold, he immediately brought her back to their compound. Helplessly she left her daughter with her new husband until she situated herself.
Now she felt like it was the perfect time.
It has been a year she hadn't seen her daughter since she was 1, and she definitely missed her.
And all of a sudden after a year from their first night together, she suddenly found that she received a lot more trust!
Her husband allowed her access to a lot more locations, more information and he even told her about his family.
It was only then that she learnt that Arnold's father not only controlled another Rank E organisation but also many other territories and forces.
Of course she didn't have any thoughts of spreading this, she only planned on getting benefits for herself out of it without harming their interests.
Obviously the result of the Partners Loyalty trait that Samuel unlocked.
All of the new information about Arnold's family causes Jacqueline to want to latch on even more. She even planned to get her daughter to get Arnolds affection.
If she can be placed in a high position it would be unreachable for Jacqueline normally.
''Hubby, I have something to ask you.'' After answering the call, Jacqueline walked back in and saw that her husband was alone except for the guard.
''What is it?'' Arnold did like Betty, and she was pregnant with his first son. His affection for her was the most out of all of his concubines.
''Well I want to bring my daughter here. I know it might be weird but I can't help but worry about her. She is alone in this world without me.'' Jacqueline had a pitiful look on her face as she grasped Arnold's arms.
''Well I don't know.'' Arnold showed a hesitant look in his eyes. He didn't want his concubine's daughter there.
But under her incessant promises and sweet voice Arnold agreed.
''Alright fine, I will send my housekeeper to pick her up. Now we have to go. The party is going to start soon.''
Arnold sent out an order and he led Jacqueline out of the door.
Soon they arrived at the party venue. It isn't the main compound, but instead it was a large mansion.
Arnold saw plenty of warriors entering the venue. He recognised a few, all well known warriors in the city.
''Ah hello Arnold, I didn't expect you to be invited.''
''I heard you ran into some trouble, I'm glad you had it sorted.''
As soon as Arnold appeared, he attracted a lot of attention from the surroundings.
Most of the people here were from Rank F organisations. Especially since Arnold recently fought off an attack from the HiveTriad!
His prestige had reached its peak since he came to the city.
Jacqueline was also enjoying the attention, she remembered she once accompanied her ex-husband to one of these parties.
But at that time it was as a part-time cleaner.
When Arnold entered he saw that it was a large hall, even with hundreds of people it looked quite empty.
It was now that Arnold finally saw the person who tried to destroy his organisation.
They had deep black piercing eyes, with black hair and a slightly evil charm. With an evil charm he grasped the young girl next to him.
When he saw Arnold enter, his eyes hadn't moved. He walked towards him directly.
''Arnold! I'm glad you came. I was worried you wouldn't come after our… altercation.''
''Ahh Paxton, it's a pleasure to finally meet you.'' Arnold greeted the young descendant. Politely but not humbly.
A clear distinction with the rest of the guests.
Of course Arnold might be the only one here with the qualifications to act casually around a Rank D descendant.
''Alright Arnold let's get down to business. I have something to talk to you about.'' Paxtons face suddenly changed. From charming to serious.
His arm pushed out rudley sending the girl who he was walking with to the floor. She hurried up and walked away.
''Jacqueline go mingle I have something to deal with.'' Arnold smiled slightly at Jacqueline and watched as she walked away.
''Now Arnold, you know what I'm after.'' Paxton took a seat casually, his slender fingers tapping on a wooden table.
''Let me guess. The book?'' Arnold chuckled slightly.
''Of course it's the book. I can promise that you won't face any more attacks from my men.'' Paxton spoke casually.
When he saw Arnold ready to laugh, Paxton wasn't rushed.
''Think about it, I know you have someone behind you, but how often can they help you? How strong are they, do you think they can protect you from me?''
He held a confident smile. In his opinion, regardless of who's behind Arnold, they can't compare to his own influence.
''You think you can threaten me? We both know what's in that book. It's worth far more than the pathetic promise not to attack me.''
Arnold smirked in the face of the threat.
''Here's the deal. You back off, or the person backing me will start to attack certain coordinates that won't be beneficial to your organisation.''
''Even if you destroy me it won't stop, I don't think your organisation will be able to defend all of them if they take action.''
When Paxton heard this his face turned ugly.
''You wouldn't dare.''
''Don't expect to live any longer if a single farm is touched.''
Paxton smashed the glass against the ground. With a heavy crash it shattered into pieces drawing the attention of the surrounding warriors.
