Chapter 207

Sarah watched as they flipped their body, now covered in mud and blood and covered their bodies with the foliage of the grass. A small diamond earring in the person's ear glowed as their aura was completely covered.

Sarah realised something and quickly dived into a mole hole next to her. Covering the ground above her head with dirt.

At the same time, through a small hole she saw a dozen figures fly overhead, their eyes scanning every direction.

''12 Rank 3 Warriors? Who is this man?'' It is pretty obvious they were after the raggedly dressed man.

Sarah waited for an hour. And after no movement from the man or the warriors above she crawled out.

After checking the air and the surroundings, she walked slowly towards the pile of foliage.

''Hello?'' She whispered slightly

But there was no reply.

She walked forward and with the tip of her spear she pushed away the leaves on the man's body.

''He's dead?'' She spoke softly. The man in front of her had wide bloodshot eyes, pain spreading through his pupils.

His hands tightly clutched his abdomen that was impaled by a weapon. However Sarah could clearly perceive that there is no heartbeat on the man's body.

Slowly she got closer only to see a bundle of blood on the back of the man as well. With the tip of her spear she flipped him over, revealing a hideous wound showing a shattered white spine.

''How could he still move like this?'' Sarah was slightly impressed. This injury wasn't small.

However he was dead now, Sarah was still ruthless. She flipped his body back over and began to check through his pockets.

She found a sleek black pendant hanging round his neck, when she put her spiritual energy into it and a thick poison mist spread out.

''Not bad a Low Mortal Artifact. '' Sarah nodded and hung the pendant around her neck.

She also found a shattered pocket watch, clearly it was an artifact but now it was scrap.

But finally she found a sleek grey space ring on the man's finger. With excitement in her eyes she opened it up immediately.

The first thing that came to her eyes was a large pile of Spiritual Crystals, easily 1,000! However it was surprisingly empty.

There were no herbs, pills or medicines in there at all. She could only see scraps of equipment littered around the large space.

One thing stood out. A large grey altar was floating in the space. Sarah felt an unending evil aura spreading out of the altar, around the base of the altar dozens of skeletons seemed to be crawling up it.

Sarah looked at it curiously but quickly snapped out of it. She removed her spirit from the ring and placed the man's body into the ring. She would bury him but that would be easy for the warriors to track.

Unbeknownst to Sarah, as soon as the man's body entered the ring, the altar glowed bright red as the blood from the man seeped out of his body, the skin melted off his bones as the white and red liquid melted into the altar.

Sarah only noticed this when she returned back to her room in the compound. After sending away the warriors, she pulled out the ring and checked once again.

''Huh what happened?'' She was stunned when she saw the new skeleton.

''It was the Altar?'' She spoke curiously, and with a wave of her small hand the three metre tall alter appeared in the room in front of her.

Her short body looks petite in front of the giant Altar. She finally had time to check it out.

It had dozens of exquisite carvings across the back, depicting hundreds of people kneeling before this very altar.

Sarah wiped her hand against the side, feeling the indents of countless runes. Strangely half of the runes had turned a vibrant red while the others were a pure white.

There was a small stone slab in front of the altar, out of curiosity Sarah called in one of the Dogs of War standing guard.

''Go Stand on the platform.'' Sarah spoke as she commanded the warrior to move forward.

''Yes, Young Miss.'' The guard was confused where the Altar came from but he followed the order.

He marched forward and stepped on the platform.

But suddenly, Sarah watched as a horrifying sight appeared. The Dog of War let out a chilling scream as blood began to pour out of every pore in his body.

His eyes turned blood red as his face started to contort, his previous ordinary face and rough skin turned smooth and translucent. A sleek jawline appeared as long black hair began to appear.

Suddenly, things changed. His body began to melt, Sarah saw his almost perfect face twisted again, turning into nothing but bones.

With a sickening crack, a set of bones fell onto the floor in front of Sarah.

''What a strange Altar.'' Suddenly a deep male voice shook Sarah out of her stupor.

''Hello Father!'' Sarah panicked then turned towards her dad.

Of course Samuel received news of it as soon as Sarah called in the Dog of War. He arrived quickly and watched the entire process.

''Why does this remind me of Vampires?'' Samuel tapped his chin and wondered. He thought back to the perfect face and eyes, then held the head of the skeleton.

''Are they really vampires?'' Samuel moved his hand across the teeth of the skeleton, there weren't two clear fangs like in old books on earth, rather all of the teeth had slowly turned razor sharp.

Vampires are a hidden Dark Species in the Eternal Battlefield, they have a mouthful of sharp teeth and use their beautiful looks to draw in their prey.

However their weaknesses mean that they are only a Middle Level Species, quite similar on the spectrum to Humans.

''Sarah, where did you get this Altar?'' Samuel turned and spoke to his little daughter, he was not surprised that it was her who found something like this.

As a Daughter of Luck she definitely has the highest chance of finding it.

''Ah It's like this…'' Sarah answered quickly, explaining what had happened on the Eternal Battlefield.
