Chapter 178

But the numbers were too different and supplies at the front line were running out. So they conscripted much stronger warriors to go this time.

Even important sect elders were sent this time! Such a force is unbeatable in this local area.

And according to the information, although those beasts are numerous their top combat power is lacking. They have yet to see any in the Rank 2 realm let alone able to compete against the Rank 3 Elders!

In fact Serpentine Samuel is close to reaching High Rank 2. Samuel even suspects that he will reach it before his main body. After all, his main body requires hundreds of times more energy!

And soon he will be able to become an elder himself!

But that's not the point here. The rewards that the sect are offering for this battle is quite good. Each Rank 2 Warrior that kills over a thousand beasts will receive an Artifact!

1,000 weak insect creatures isn't too difficult for people like Serpentine Samuel.

Soon Serpentine Samuel arrived at the front lines. Surprisingly the battlefield consisted of a multi mile long trench, with gruesome caterpillar, cricket and worm creatures slowly pouring towards the green blood covered sect disciples.

Seeing that reinforcements appeared, the warriors in the trench cheered happily.

''All disciples listen to me! Wipe out these disgusting bugs!'' The elders in the front carriage called out.

Suddenly all the True Disciples and Inner disciples burst out with powerful auras and rushed towards the battlefield.

This small fighting force of two hundred was even more devastating than the ten thousand warriors previously sent!

Serpentine Samuel rushed in violently. His hands ripping apart these disgusting bugs. Sharp claws cutting the heads off them with a single swipe.

Blood kept gathering on his body, turning the previously pleasant blue outfit into a green disgusting mess.

But without missing a beat he ripped off the top of the shirt revealing a set of tough muscles and continued to kill beasts.

The two hundred warriors were quickly joined by the slightly weaker 2,800 reinforcements and were like wolves in a flock of sheep.

At the same time, hundreds of miles away hidden within a small plane, you could only see millions of these beasts hopping around.

Most noticeably was a giant cocoon from which corpses were placed inside and more insects swarmed out.

Inside of this cocoon, a green skinned young man sat on a large throne.

''Haha I bet you never expected this.'' His eyes burnt red with rage. He remembered when his father dragged him out from the Caterpillar Isles plane he grew up in.

''Son, don't worry so much. With your current strength it couldn't be easier to wipe out the measly forces that attacked us.'' A middle-aged man walked out after.

This was the king of the Caterpillar Swarm! However he had long lost his kingly aura, replaced with a sense of pride in his son.

Unexpectedly after they escaped his son Lanston awakened the ability to duplicate into a swarm. But his swarm was different, much like the powerful Zerg Race he can create mother hives that turn corpses into these insects!

With this power he occupied this low-level plane with hundreds of thousands of residents, killing them all in his pursuit of power.

But he wasn't satisfied. He started to expand on the Eternal Battlefield, wiping out countless small warrior groups and even starting a fight with this sect!

Unfortunately Lanston underestimated the strength of a sect, but he had yet to realise it. As an untaught boy he only knows that sects are decently powerful, but with his millions of beasts he considered them nothing.

But his Caterpillar Swarm are much weaker than ordinary warriors, let alone sect taught warriors. And the combat power of the swarm can't exceed Lanstons own strength.

Which is only Low Rank 2 right now! And he only collected enough energy to create a hundred Low Rank 2 creatures.

But the arrogant Lanston couldn't see himself failing. So he willingly started a war on the sect, hoping to access enough resources to promote himself in the future.

On the battlefield that Lanston couldn't watch, his hundred thousand beasts were close to being wiped out.

Serpentine Samuel looked in the air at the Old figure floating in the sky with amazement. Previously they had been massacring creatures but the elders thought it was taking to long.

As a result the weakest of the elders stepped out and swiped out his sword. Instantly thousands of creatures were turned to dust!

All this made it easier for the other warriors to hunt them down. Serpentine Samuel no longer held anything back, wanting to contribute and kill these beasts.

With a large broadsword in his left hand and a poised set of fingers on his right hand he charged once again.

Dual wielding sharp claws and the huge sword, he wiped out hundreds in a matter of minutes!

The rest of the disciples weren't weak either. A High Rank 2 one throughout a spinning blade which sped through the bodies of many creatures.

On the other side of the battlefield an Middle Rank 2 Warrior pulled out a giant hammer smashing it against the floor. The ground cracked open swallowing hundreds of beasts in a second.

All sorts of spells were thrown around, Artifacts were used and quickly the creatures were wiped out.

''We will continue to move forward. Let's find the cause of this.'' The elder standing in the sky spoke and returned to his carriage. At the same time the now Two thousand nine hundred warriors followed them along.

Leaving the original warriors to clean up the battlefield.

Along the way you could see trails of destruction. Trees and ecosystems wiped out, skeletons and outfits worn to shreds. Even many disciples' bodies lay strewn around.

But soon they reached the cause of all of this. Easily a million creatures were hopping around on a large grassy plain with a large green portal in the centre.
