Chapter 172

''Rules? Interesting.'' Samuel read the first line and continued to look down.

'Rule 1- No use of force, any attacks or use of force in any way will result in immediate action from our city guards.

Rule 2- No forcing people to partake in activities by applying pressure with your background. Anyone caught doing so will be punished immediately, potentially implicating the forces behind you.

Rule 3- No Flying in any areas.

Rule 4- Spend a lot of money.'

''Heh spent a lot of money?'' Samuel sneered slightly when he read the last rule.

There really wasn't much on the scroll. He didn't even have any basic information about where he was!

However he was relieved when he saw the first two rules. Although he is confident in his strength in the same realm, he could feel many people here were stronger than him!

''I wonder who owns this so-called Alchemy City?'' Samuel was curious, his mind kept thinking when he left the large pavilion.

''Mister, do you need a guide? Just one Spiritual Stone to rent me for a day!'' Samuels head turned towards the joyful but squeaky voice.

It was a young boy no more than fifteen, but unlike you would expect from guides in a city, he was dressed well in a flaring red robe, the same as the attendants within the portal pavilion.

''Tell me about this city.'' Samuel spoke calmly as he flipped a Spiritual Crystal towards the boy.

The boy grabbed it happily and immediately began to speak.

''Is it your first time here mister? Well this is Alchemy City! Anything to do with Spiritual Pills, Arrays, Puppets and Inscriptions can be found here!'' The boy answered happily.

''Who runs it? To be able to enforce such rules they must be powerful.''

''Ah Mister you don't know? Of course it is the Rake family! Who else could run such a large city in the Eternal Battlefield?'' The boy answered, confused about how the man didn't even know the name of the city.

But when Samuel heard it he was quite stunned. From his viewpoint alone this city is hundreds if not thousands of miles long! Such a large city was built in the Eternal Battlefield?

Keep in mind that Samuel needs thousands of Dogs of War to protect a small mile long farm! And even then he has to use a lot of concealing materials.

Whereas here? Samuel could always smell the fresh scent of herbs and pills. How powerful must be the beasts attacking the city? How strong must the Rake Family be to be able to control it?

Samuel couldn't help but ask

''Whos the Rake Family?'' His eyes flashing with curiosity.

''Mister you can't possibly ask me that?! Anyone who comes to Alchemy City knows the Rake Family. They are a mighty Ancient family with the pure bloodline of Witches!''

''Bloodline Witches!?'' Samuel was stunned.

Witches, although not a top tier race like the Phoenixes, are a high ranking race far beyond humans. They even slightly outrank Succubi.

Because they are amazingly talented at creating Spiritual Pills and doing all sorts of things related to Alchemy.

But what was more surprising, was that the Rake family were direct bloodline descendants! They aren't some measly side blooded race like the Eltorns.

This is pure-blooded Witches!

''No wonder they are able to manage such a huge city in the Eternal Battlefield.'' Samuel was slightly awed and he muttered to himself.

''So Mister, what is it that you want to buy? Anything can be purchased as long as it involves alchemy'' The boy asked.

''Hmm I don't know, could you recommend a place?'' Samuel didn't know his surroundings, but he paid for a guide so he might as well use him.

''Ah well I would suggest going to the Rake Family Pavilion. It is the largest shop, under the direct control of the Rake Family. Although the products might not be the cheapest, you can be reassured by their quality.''

The boy said confidently, he himself is a worker for the Rake Family. Of course he wants to bring in some more income. He gets a commission from whatever his customers purchase from the Rake Family Pavilion.

''Lead the way.'' Samuel spoke casually when he heard it. But his eyes were vigilant as they explored the surroundings.

After leaving what seemed like a giant square around the portal room, Samuel entered a commercial street.

Despite being wide to fit thousands of people, it was insanely busy. People were crammed in tightly as they attempted to manoeuvre their way to the shops lining the edges.

Samuel checked out some of the products within the shops with his good eyesight. He could see stacks of Spiritual Pills in the windows and Spiritual Fruits hanging in boxes.

In some shops there where humanoid looking machines lined against walls, while in others you could see slaves in the windows with various formations carved onto their bodies.

''You can see the Rake Family Pavillion now!'' Just then the boy spoke. His hand pointing towards what had to be the biggest building Samuel had seen to date.

Thousands of metres tall, with dozens of pillars holding up the colossal structure. Winding steps led to different floors and different rooms, all thoroughly packed with people walking up them.

Samuel could see various beasts flying around the top, and many red robed figures flying in and out.

''Is that the Rake Family?'' Samuel asked curiously.

''Of course not! They aren't qualified to be descendants of the Rake Family. No, they are just workers in the shop, like me I technically work for the Rake Family.'' The boy said pridefully.

Only then did Samuel realise that there were many young children and young adults leading travelling groups towards the centre shop.

But just as he was about to reach the first staircase, the lily pads in his body shook slightly, they rotated rapidly before seemingly pointing towards the opposite direction Samuel was going.

His head snapped back, only to see a black robed figure enter a crooked wooden shop.

Ignoring the confused guide behind him, Samuel led his Eternal guards directly to the Wooden Shop.

When finally reached it, his eyes scanned the shop. Although the wood looked crooked, Samuel could clearly perceive that the structure is still strong. Even stronger than any material Samuel had seen before.

His eyes slowly pushed open the door.
