Chapter 14

Crazy things happening

Crazy things are happening

If you somebody's case

You fit chop the person's face.....

Nneka was lost in the music she was listening to without noticing that someone had entered the house not until the person touched her for her to turn and remove her earphones.

"It's a lie." She cried. "Amina, what took you so long?" She hugged her without paying attention to her tattered clothes.

"I am sorry I took so long." Amina cried too.

Talking about sisters' goals. Amina and Nneka deserve an award. Amina can go the extra mile to protect her younger sister who could not fight. Nneka's lifestyle from the onset was worth envying especially when they were in the ghetto. Henrietta sent her to a good school outside the ghetto and the school environment influenced her not to be like many kids in the neighborhood. Amina was her only friend since all the kids around her would rather bully her than play with her.

"The next time I see you raise your hand or open your stupid mouth to insult my sister. I will show you pepper." Amina had threatened a girl of Nneka's age who was living beside their house in the ghetto before.

"I swear I miss you." Nneka cried.

"I miss you too. I am sorry for abandoning you." Amina wept as she cleaned Nneka's tears with her palm.

Nneka stopped crying and saw the little girl holding Amina's skirt. "Is this your child?"

"Yes, she is my daughter. Her name is Jade."

Nneka bent down to carry the girl up. "She is a pretty girl with a pretty name." She smiled at the girl who also gave her a warm smile.

"Nneka will show you to the guest room and please make yourself comfortable," Vanessa said before leaving them in the sitting room.

"Okay, ma," Amina replied as she watched Vanessa walk upstairs.

"How have you been Nneka?" Amina asked.

"I should be asking you that question," Nneka replied as they both laughed.

Everything is good, everything is fine. It all comes down to being a good wife on contract. Even though that was a bit hard for Henrietta she wanted to do her best and stick to her end of the bargain and be the good wife she was supposed to be.

"Did you know anything about Jessica's whereabouts?" Damola asked as he stroked Herietta's hair.

She raised her head from Damola's lap. "What sort of question is that?"

"You seemed quite angry at her and who knows maybe you are trying to teach her a lesson to alleviate your anger."

"No, I can never do such a thing. Why would you make that kind of insinuation about me?"

"Okay, I am sorry. I am glad you are not involved."

The night was still young. Amina, Bibi, and Nneka were in the living room catching up while watching the television. Vanessa beeped from upstairs before going back to her room to think of a better way to keep them all asleep. She decided to give them fruit juice laced with sedatives.

"Guys you must be having a good time but it is incomplete without a drink," Vanessa said and placed the drink on the table which all of them drank and slept off.

She brought out her phone and placed a call to CJ who has been waiting for her call. "Hello, you can come in they are all asleep now." She cut the call and waited for him to come into the house.

CJ opened the door so silently as not to wake people up in the house. "Hey." CJ smiled when he saw Vanessa.

"Hi," Vanessa replied in a low voice and drew him into her room.

CJ placed his lips on Vanessa's and was about to undress her when Vanessa slightly pushed him back.

"Where did you put her?" Vanessa asked in a low voice.

"I have put her where she belongs," CJ said as he held Vanessa's waist and placed soft kisses on her shoulder.

"Don't tell me you have killed her?" Vanessa asked as she unbuttoned his shirt.

"I haven't," CJ replied and the rest was history.

"I want to see her today," Vanessa said after the long night with her head placed on CJ's chest.

"Sure, I will take you there," CJ replied before getting out of bed to dress up.

"Thank you for making my day." Vanessa smiled as she watched him dress.

"You know I get you anytime." He winked as buttoned up his shirt.

Vanessa and CJ drove into a busy area and came out of the car to enter an almost collapsed dejected church building. Vanessa followed CJ's path which leads to the church basement where Jessica was sitting all tied up with tape on her mouth.

"Oh my! Oh my! Jessica the drama queen! Wakey, wakey." Vanessa poured water on Jessica to wake her up from her slumber.

"Remove the tape," Vanessa said.

"Good morning. Good afternoon. Good evening. I bet you don't know what the time is." Vanessa laughed hysterically.

"Who are you? What have I done to you?" Jessica asked weakly.

"You know the person that is dear to me and you have done her more harm than good."

"Please, I will never hurt anyone. I am sorry if I might have hurt you in any way." Jessica cried.

"Dear, you will never hurt anyone again."

"Do you like stories?" Vanessa asked with a devilish smile.

Jessica could not read the meaning of her question.

"Don't bother to answer. I will tell you a story anyways. A little girl and her friend do not have a good house on their heads. They were hungry for days and they saw a rich girl playing with her doughnuts. What do you think will happen?

"They beg her to give them her doughnuts."

"Then why are you so stingy you couldn't spare a doughnut?"

"I don't kind of get the analogy."

"I heard you quite good at having rich men swarming around you. Why are you bent on taking Damola away?"

Jessica scrutinized Vanessa. "You were at the party. You followed me out of the hall that day."

"You sure have a good memory."

"I am sorry I made you feel bad about my appearance. I am sorry, I am the only child of parents please." Jessica pleaded as tears rolled down her cheek.

"I know but you should have thought about that before disrupting my friend's wedding and before you sent a threat message," Vanessa yelled.

"I didn't send any message." Jessica pleaded.

"And you want me to believe you. Are you kidding me?"

"I promise to be silent on this matter but I tell you I did not send any message."

Vanessa scoffed. "Sure, you will remain silent." She said as she brought out the threat box.

"I swear to God, I did not send any box. Please I am sorry, I would not hurt anyone."

"I am only giving you a week to get your bags and leave this country or else you will not like to see the other part of me."

"Okay, I will leave first thing tomorrow."

"And you think I will believe you? " Vanessa laughed hysterically.

"Please, cross my heart. I am not lying." Jessica cried as Vanessa gave CJ a signal to finish her one she is gone.

"Please don't kill me please I beg you." Jessica pleaded.

CJ shot Jessica the moment Vanessa closed the door behind her.
