Entry 13: The Change

What Jasmine said earlier certainly opened my eyes.

I can see why she is trying hard. I can see why Caelan was aggressive. Even though most of them are still timid, you can still feel the ambitions of my fellow classmates.

The fact that we are Bloodless makes them even more desperate.

I am not Bloodless…. Yet.

I should have known this earlier but the bloodless are the underdogs. I have always been the bigger dog my entire life which is why I was immediately noticed as someone that seems different from others. Yes, my clothing was noticeable, but my entire image and mindset were still that of royalty. I need to erase that. I need to change.

In order to do that, I believe the best way possible is to change one drastic variable in my life.

"Si-! I mean Alex! No one else is here! Did you eat already? Why did you not wait for me?"

"Frank, sit down. We need to talk."

"What is this? Why are you suddenly being scary?"

"Frank, we need to change. I need to change, which is why I am firing you as my personal aide. Effective immediately."

"WHAT?!?!?!"

Frank's reaction is exactly what I expected from him.

"I know this is shocking, but I believe this is the only way to grow. Not just my growth, but also yours."

"But sir, I was assigned to-!"

I looked him in the eye sternly so that he can understand my sincerity. That made him stop reacting shockingly.

"Are you really sure about this, sir?"

"Yes, I am."

"Does this mean that I won't be sticking to you anymore?"

"We can still be friends. However, it would be better if you distance yourself from me. Go find our own friends. Learn your own passion. Achieve your own personal dream before you go back to me. I will welcome you back as soon as we graduate. I know this is a selfish decision but I need you to trust me."

Before he replied, he released a very deep sigh.

"I will always trust you, sir. I know that this will help you. Even if this might affect me as well, as long as you are happy, I will follow your orders."

"Thank you, Frank. Thank you."

After that, I immediately went back to my room.

Alright, let us restart. I still do not know if my decision of cutting ties with Frank is the correct action but having him around just gives me a reason to slack off. I need to be able to work on my own.

Now that I do not have Frank by my side to help me, I need to carefully plan out my moves.

In order to blend in more as a Bloodless folk, I need to know more. I need information.

"Hey, brother. What are you thinking?"

Dustin just came out of the shower.

"Oh, nothing. I was just wondering about something."

"What is it? Maybe I can help you, brother?"

"Since tomorrow is the bloc meeting, I want to know more about our Bloc Leader. Do you know anything about him?"

"Wait, you do not anything about Finley the Astute? Are you even a Bloodless, brother?"

"Of course, I am!"

"I know, I was just kidding. Anyways, let me tell you about our legendary Bloc President."

This Finley must have a great reputation for Dustin to react like that. He even has a moniker of his own.

"As you know, us Bloodless are at a significant disadvantage in comparison to the other blocs. They are richer, more powerful, and have more influence due to their families. According to the information that I gathered, in the past, Bloodless students used to suffer discrimination, lack of resources, and other unfortunate things. That has always been normal until the man finally arrived."

"So are implying that Finley the Astute impacted the Bloc even when he was still a freshman?"

"Bingo! People did not believe in him at first even when he entered the First Place in his class. However, he immediately proved his worth when he fulfilled the Freshmen Treble."

"Freshmen Treble? What is that?"

"The Freshmen Treble is the legendary accomplishment that was created after the first month of Finley's Freshmen Year. The criteria in order to achieve a Freshmen Treble is if you are able to win the Freshmen Field Day Main Event, Attract the most sponsors and investors at the Freshmen Talent Showcase, and rise to the top at the Bloc Wars."

"Wait, does that mean that Finley did all of that?"

"Correct! Now that you have heard about it, isn't he amazing? He was elected as the Bloc President in his Second Year! Someone like that deserves to lead the country. We are so lucky to be part of the Bloodless Golden Era right before he graduates."

"Graduate… Do you know what his plan is after he graduates?"

"You mean his career? No one still knows about that. However, based on my extensive research, it is highly likely that he is joining the Bloodless Party."

Bloodless Party. Politics. This man is entering Politics as soon as he graduates.

"Is he really joining the National Assembly as soon as he graduates?"

"It's still not confirmed! But just like I said, it is very likely. He even currently assists the Office of the Party as a student. I am sure that someone of that caliber will lead our nation in the future. They say that if not for the Royalties and the hidden Crowned Prince, he is the most deserving King. With that said, I am sure that he will be the first Bloodless Prime Minister of Saravia."

Finley. Finley. Finley.

Someone like him would be the perfect vassal to have. However, based on what Dustin is saying, he is a very ambitious man. That type of person would be really dangerous by your side.

The person that is considered to be a prodigy, but is also a threat to my future.

Finley, are you going to be my ally or my enemy?
