[First Arc] Devils and Possession

After I got home from school, my headache still remained, and I started hearing more and more things in my head over and over.

At the dining table, Hannah and her family are having dinner.

"So how's school?" When asked by her dad, he wears a stoned expression and wears branded clothes. He has a nicely cut mustache in a square shape.

She replied, "It's fine," just to make the conversation short.

"Can I not go to school tomorrow?" "My head hurts for some reason." She looks down as if she is afraid, looking into her parents' eyes.

"Do you have a fever?" Her mom, sitting next to her father, asked

"I don't think so."

Her mother sighs, then gently puts the spoon and fork down on the table. "But dear, it would be a shame if you were absent tomorrow; you have perfect attendance, right?"

"But mom," she continues before she can explain.

"It's Wednesday today, right?"

"Yes," she says as she nods slowly while still not making eye contact.

"Then you wait for two more days, and if it gets worse, you can go check it up after class. Understood?"

She replies with a weak "yes," as she knows her parents won't change their mind in the matter.

"Your parents don't care for you~"

Another whisper that she can hear, she didn't have the courage to tell her parents or anyone she knows that she suddenly can hear a voice in her head; they might think that she is crazy.

After eating, Hannah goes back to her room to study, but in the end she can't focus, and her headache starts to get worse.

She massaged her temple as she taught that it might help to ease the pain while she lay down on her bed.

As she looks into the distance, where She is the only person who is supposed to be inside her room, she feels really different for some reason and she feels like she is not alone, the voice that whispers to her ear gets louder.

"You're a disappointment~"

'please stop' Hanna plead

"a liar~"

'stop' her face, and calmness starts to break, and the feeling of helplessness grows.

"No one really likes you~"

"Your effort is useless~"

Hannah covers her ears with her pillow as she closes her eyes tightly. Tears start flowing down her eyes as she feels more and more hopeless.

"Someone help me." She pleads one more time, and as expected, no one can hear her and no one will help either.

Class A, third-year classroom

Yuan grinned as he gave Hannah, who was seated in the lower left corner of the classroom, a sneaky look. A single drop of sweat trickled down Yuan's forehead.

Her face is pale, and she has bags under her eyes. Her face has a lifeless expression.

I can feel it; there's a creepy feeling that I can feel towards Hannah, but when did this happen? I can't see any devils around.

Yuan is certain that Hannah is under the control of the devil, but he is finding it difficult to take action because he cannot hear or see it.

After the third class, at lunch break, Yuan walks towards Hannah with Rikko, asking her something.

"Hey Hannnah, wanna eat with us for change?" Rikko smiles at Yuan's words as he nods multiple times. like a father seeing his son trying to make a new friend.

"kill Yuan~" The voice of the devil flows down on her body like blood.

Hannah smiled at them as she said "sure." From Yuan's perspective, he felt that that smile was a lot more weird than her usual fake smile; it felt like that reply and smile were not directed towards them.

"kill him~"

"kill Yuan~"

The devil whispered in her ear over and over as the three of them made their way towards the canteen.

They decide on their order as they locate an open table in the back of the canteen. Rikko gets rice and curry, while Yuan gets rice and stew. as Hannah waits for them while carrying her lunchbox.

They place their food on the table as they start eating.

The first one to break the ice is Rikko.

"How do you feel, Hannah?" He asked with a troubled expression, "They mentioned yesterday you needed to go to the infirmary since you didn't feel so well."

She looked at Rikko and smiled, but for some reason, that smile felt so empty. Something is really wrong with her, and even Rikko thinks so. She gives him chills for some reason.

Hannah replied, "I'm fine now; I just feel a little sluggish."

Rikko then made an awkward expression, saying, "I see."

Yuan finds it amusing how Rikko struggles to act like everything is fine when what he truly feels is written all over his face, as much as he enjoys watching this awkward interaction. He thinks that this is not the right time to do it.

"Kill him now~" another whisper

Hannah just smiled as the three of them continued eating. After a while, the three of them stood, and when they were about to go back to their classroom, Hannah made an obvious groan. Yuan and Rikko looked at her.

"Are you really ok?" Rikko asked one more time.

Hannah puts her hand on her forehead as she looks at the two

"I think my headache is coming back once again; it would be a great help if I could lay down in the infirmary."

She looks at Yuan, saying, "Can you help me go there, Yuan?"

Yuan nodded as he said "sure," and then the guy next to him raised his hand, saying

"I'll go too," He has a worried expression, but he is not looking at Hannah but at Yuan, and at the same time, Rikko is unaware that Hannah is staring at him with a deadpan look.

"Rikko You can go back in the room instead and inform our teacher that Yuan helps me go to the infirmary, since he might not make it to our next class."

"b-but"

Yuan pats his shoulder and gives him a smile.

"That's right, Rikko, Hannah has a point; I'll see you later."

Rikko nods while still having some kind of doubt in this situation.

Yuan and Hannah start walking towards the infirmary as Rikko walks towards their classroom.
