"That... makes sense," Kingsley said as he examined the information displayed by the [Lord's Eye].
The creature's stats didn't seem particularly strong, but Kingsley wasn't about to delude himself into thinking he could win in a physical fight.
After all, he didn't know what the MAX stat was. It could be five, or it could be ten. Either way, the odds weren't in his favor—but he didn't need to fight it.
"Now, let's see," he muttered, observing the creature. A flood of ideas ran through his mind, but he couldn't act on them due to a lack of information.
The goblin might be able to provide some details about the area, but Kingsley knew better than to expect anything significant.
If there was one thing he understood about goblins, it was that they were absolutely dumb. Still, they might at least reveal information about local threats.
"Freeze," Kingsley commanded.
The goblin, which had been moving quietly without a care, suddenly stopped. It remained unnaturally still, its expression frozen and body locked in place.
As he observed the immobilized creature, a strange sense of pride swelled within him. No, he hadn't defeated it through physical means, but the realization that his powers could ensure his survival filled him with newfound confidence. With abilities like his, if he didn't survive, he would truly be an idiot.
Zooming out from the goblin, Kingsley scanned for other intruders but found none. For now, this likely meant one of two things: either the natives didn't see his territory as valuable enough to explore, or his land was so remote and deep in the forest that no one wanted to venture here.
Either way, it didn't matter. Kingsley knew the goblin was just the first of many beings that would enter his domain. Still, he was determined to protect what was his.
"This is no longer useful," Kingsley thought, destroying the small panic room he had created earlier.
His initial fear had faded. Now that he understood the extent of his powers, there was no reason to hide. Stepping out of his hiding spot, Kingsley walked to the clearing in front of the ruined castle and snapped his fingers.
If he had godlike powers, why not add a little flair? With that thought, the paralyzed goblin appeared before him. There was no delay, no dramatic pause—just a seamless transition as the goblin vanished from its original location and materialized where Kingsley wanted it.
"Shit!" Kingsley exclaimed as the goblin's stench hit him like a tidal wave.
The creature's smell was unbearable, even after only a few seconds in his presence. Without hesitation, Kingsley willed the odor away, instantly eradicating it.
