Chapter 14

Selena

The adrenaline rush ran through my blood, my air got knocked off my lungs and I couldn't breathe.

I was getting into a panic attack, I closed my eyes and started crying uncontrollably while panicking. Tia rushed to hold me and tried to calm me down but I couldn't calm down.

The last 10 years of my life flashed through my eyes, the day I started working, from the moment I decided to pursue acting as a career.. my first show, my first movie, my first award, losing Dad, rebuilding everything after dad's demise, my family… until today. All my hard work, my dignity, and respect turned into ashes in just a few days.

And that's where the realization hit me, that I have actually lost everything.. it wasn't just a nightmare anymore. The nightmare had actually turned into reality.

I closed my eyes and let the darkness consume me.

When Selena finished reading the letter, she started suffocating and I could see her air being knocked out I could see she was having difficulty breathing but before I couldn't do anything, she already was under a panic attack and the only thing I could do at that moment was to hold her.

I held her close to my chest and tried to calm her down but she kept crying… and I knew this is the moment where she has literary broken down...

In our Seven years of working together, this is the second time I have seen her like this.

The first time, it happened when we were 22, she had lost her father a couple of months ago and things got worse when all her work was canceled and she found it difficult to survive in the industry and her responsibilities towards her home.

She keeps her guard up all the time for everyone. Her Sunshiny personality holds onto a lot of shades and secrets, she doesn't let anyone see. She's been an inspiration to me and seeing someone as strong as her being broken down… is breaking my heart too.

She eventually passed out while crying.

Rhys helped me take her inside her bedroom and I called her mom. She was the only person who can handle her at this time.

When Aunty came, the worry was visible on her pretty face. She hugged me and I took her to Selena's room and she just sat there as Selena was still sleeping.
