Picnic

The boys begged off church but they walked with her to the town center where the quaint little church was. After mass, they would meet at the park for a little picnic.

"Tammy! You look positively radiant today! Who were those boys?" Susan, her best friend and fellow senior citizen, asked. She spotted the boys waving her goodbye.

"Oh, they are my Tucker's friends. They are staying with me until Tucker comes home," Tammy answered.

"Isn't it too much trouble for three boys in the house with you?" Everyone knew Tammy was independent but she was getting on in years.

"Oh no! Those boys are little angels. They did chores around the house, weeded and trimmed the yard and even fixed my roof. Such darling boys!" She can't help but put warm feelings in her voice. Those boys were also a riot.

"Do they normally expose their chest like that?" Susan watched the boys until they disappeared from sight.

"Well, they usually walk around without clothes at home. Perhaps that's why I feel so young again."

Susan gasped. "Tammy!"

"Oh Susan, don't be such a prude! Even old biddies like us need to imagine a few things sometimes!" They walked beside each other as they entered the church.

"Don't let Father Michael hear you! He'll make you confess," Susan hissed.

"Confess to wet dreams? He would wish!"

"Oh hush! This is so not you! Those boys are a bad influence," Susan chastised her but it was clear she was amused for her friend. When their friends started to die of old age, it made the two of them closer. Like her, Susan lived alone. Her family was also in the city.

The mass went on as mass goes. It was precisely an hour long. That was because the village priest was so precise in time. Father Michael would blow a gasket if things were out of schedule. His homilies were rehearsed and timed to make sure everything ran like clockwork.

After mass, Tammy walked to the park. Susan walked with her half way because she wanted to have tea in the village. Her best friend was plump and jolly. Tammy loved her like a sister. If one of them were sick, the other ran to her and nursed her.

"Oh, Tammy dear, is it wise to have three young men, who aren't your relatives, stay with you? People would start to talk?" This was a small village. Rumors and such spread fast.

Tammy shrugged. "Let them. What would they say about me? They are three boys helping me around the house. I'm as old as their grandmother."

Susan spotted them fixing a picnic mat on the ground. "They aren't exactly ordinary boys. They are handsome, well-endowed boys who are exotic and new in this village. Look how those lonely wives ogle them."

Tammy bristled. "They can look but they can't touch."

Susan gasped. "Tammy!"

"Oh, Susan, do let an old biddy like me have a few enjoyments in life. Well, I'm off to the park. Those boys promised me a picnic." Before her friend could respond, Tammy hurried to the three boys who were laying down the large mat waiting for her.

"Oh, our Tammy is here," they exclaimed.

She smiled. It was nice to be claimed by somebody. Now, three boys were claiming her as theirs. It melted her heart. When she approached, they ran to escort her and help her sit on the mat. They then began to feed her sandwiches and fruit from their picnic basket. She giggled. Let those lonely wives ogle all they want, the thought. These boys were hers… for the time being.
