The fire begins to spread all across her open palm as she begins to wave her hands up and down each of the survivors leaving behind an orange glowing aura. Slowly the aura grows brighter and brighter as the woman's eyes close, honing her concentration further.
The wounds on Lanos slowly start to mend together, the flesh knitting back together slowly leaving behind deep claw scars in his torso. Slowly the bleeding starts to subside as the final wounds on his torso close.
"Sir check him over for any other additional wounds that might need more medical attention. I have stopped the bleeding for now at least." The woman says with a deep breath trying not to feint from the exhaustion.
"Yes, right on it." The doctor says as he starts to check over Lanos's torso for any more cuts or signs of bleeding that may need to be stitched.
"Now let's have a look at these two. The older girl seems in rough shape." The demon practitioner says wiping the sweat from her brow, her piercing fox eyes scanning over Lydia first before they drift over and see the rough state Ren is in.
"Oh my god! Why didn't anyone say how bad this girl's wounds were, that arm looks barely attached!" The demon practitioner gasps seeing the horrific state of Ren's arm.
"Doc get here now, she takes priority." Sable screams out seeing the destroyed arm in front of her.
"Heavens above there are bone fragments everywhere in her skin. Sable, we're going to need to spend at least a couple hours on her. The priest will have to hold off Lydia in the meantime." The doctor says trying not to feint in the process seeing the grotesque wound.
"I need to get the bone fragments out first at least. Make sure to knock her out." The doctor says as he collects himself with deep methodical breaths.
"Already on it." Sables says as she extends her palm out to Rens wincing face, blowing a deep purple mist into her face knocking her out cold.
"Pass me my tweezers, I'm going to need to be careful with this." The doctor says gesturing his eyes over to Sable to pass him his tools.
"Here you are doc freshly sterilised." Sable says grabbing one of the doctors surgical tweezers heating it up rapidly with her fire.
"Thank you sable. Slow and steady." The doctor says as he slowly pulls out more pearl white fragments from Ren's right arm.
"That's 7 bone fragments now. There are still so many left." The doctor says gasping and taking a deep breath in the process before going right back to it.
After a laborious 3 hours of finicky labour Rens arm had the last of the bone fragments removed from his left arm 32 in total.
"I think we are finally in the clear, Sable. I know i'm going to be asking a lot of you but if you can try and regenerate the bone that would help this little girls quality of life more then you can imagine." The doctor says with a worried expression on his face seeing how much devastation the bones in Rens right arm have handled.
"I haven't done bone regeneration ever, I have no idea if it will even work." Sable says, a little shocked. Knowing fully well it's outside of her current capability.
"Please even if it works only a little bit that's enough there are deep gouges and fractures in the ulna and radius that puberty alone won't be able to recover. This girl might remain disabled for the rest of her life." The doctor struggles to hold back his emotion in his croaking voice thinking about his own little girl at home.
"Ill give it my best but I'm going to need the top resources available, I need at least three Anima Pills. The amount of life energy this is going to take is too much for me to handle alone." Sables says pinching her nose thinking about any possible way to try and break through her limits.
"Ill ask the commander." The doctor says writing git down in a flurry of scrawl.
"Also I'll need a proper crystal of at least C tier quality for me to fully channel my Demon spirit, this F grade isnt going to do a lot on its own i'll burn through all the life energy before I manage to even restore a fracture." Sable says looking at her small jagged pebble of a crystal.
*Knock Knock*
"Status Report healers!" The commander roars out as he brushes his hand down his black moustache and bushy beard.
"Sir!" All the healers in the room salute in unison.
"We've managed to stabilise the man but the young girl's injuries are very severe and we don't have the resources available to heal her fully. If we don't get those resources she might remain disabled for the rest of her life." The doctor says giving a full breakdown of their current crisis.
"What is it you need to help here, whatever we can do we will provide." The commander says with a deep sigh and a grave look.
"I need 3 Anima Pills and a C tier crystal to be able to help regenerate some of the bone the beast has claimed." Sable says bowing her head feeling more then guilt having to ask for such a steep cost.
"It's a steep price to pay. But Lydia did manage to claim the life of that red bear so its only fair we repay her for getting rid of such a predator." The commander says with a grateful tone.
"Will provide those right away bear with me while I talk to my assistant." The commander says with a wink as he makes the preparations for Sable.
*30 minutes later*
"Here you are, Sable please help the girl recover." The commander says handing over the supplies as his battle hardened eyes watch intently.
"I'll do my best sir, thank you I mean it." Sable says bowing gracefully once more as her long brown hair falls down to her shoulders.
"Nube time for an upgraded housing"
"Bout damn time felt like I was pissing away most of my energy in that tiny crystal."
With a flash of orange the wisps of the fox demon spirit flutter into the new larger more uniform and less jagged with a lighter colour.
"Loyal fox, lend me your strength. Nube"
Sable's appearance begins to rapidly shift as the transformation happens much faster than the last time, the crystal already showing its power in action. Her eyes glow a fierce orange as the pupils grow sharper and fiercer than before.
Three talls emerge out of her lower waist this time with darker red tones and shimmering white tips. Her ears rapidly morph becoming sharper moving to the top of her head. Her regular brown hair extends a bit longer growing a darker shade nearing more fire red. The whisker marks finish the transformation appearing more prominent and erratic then the last time.
"Fox Fire!" Sable calls out.
A blue raging fire engulfs her hand, summoning the faithful skill of hers once more. Her entire hand is now engulfed by the luminescent raging blue fire. With her other hands she puts all three anima pills in her mouth crunching down.
In an instant her blue fire grows dramatically in height engulfing her whole arm now as she extends it out trying to concentrate all of the fire into Rens Radius and Ulna. Slowly the blue fire begins to encroach into Ren's flesh flowing deeper into the wound and targeting the two bones before engulfing them concentrating all the healing power Sable can muster.
The bones begin to shudder as they begin to grow more bone material stitching together the fractures and gouges deep in the marrow. Slowly more and more calcium begins to form replacing the old destroyed bone.
"Haaa haaa haa" Sable struggles to catch her breath as the final remnants of the anima pills are used up the roaring blue flame dwindles down to a small ember in on her fingertip.
"I've done all I can so far that took everything I had left in me. Those anima pills were used up so quickly I'm sorry I couldn't do more bone regeneration isn't more forte." Sable says as more sweat streaks down her face from the intense exertion of her soul domain.
"It's okay, it's not like we have any healers on standby that can repair bone at all. Your efforts have made this little girl's life a lot easier than it would have been. You should take pride in that. Sable was it, I'll remember that name for the efforts you have made." The commander says with an approving nod at her.
"As for you two, here's your payment for all your efforts. I know it's not much but it's still generous for the work you two have put in." The commander chuckles with pride as he hands over two large bags of silver coins.
"Sable, I'm sure the resources I've provided will more than suffice for your payment." The commander says with a side eye making sure there isn't any discourse.
"Of course sir. Thank you again." Sable bows once more as she struggles to hold back her gratitude for such an opportunity.
