Chapter 7: Some memories coming back

"What sort of nightmares?" "I don't know. I guess like when I become a demon again I will attack someone because I can't control it or the prince starting an unnecessary war. Stuff like that." "Hmm. I don't think we will do that but lets not worry about that stuff for now ok? Lets eat our food and talk about happy things. Did you write a letter to Hazel?" "Oh shoot. I'll do that after I eat." "Its ok I already did. You should still send him one though." "Ok thanks. You're a lifesaver. I will. After I'm done eating. Do you think uncle Aiden could help me control my demon when we are here?" "I'm sure he can give you some lessons. It sucks I'm only 11. I got 5 more years to find out what my demon is." "Actually I found some books and researched about that. I had uncle bring them to me. Here let me show you." I was looking through the pages and found what I needed. "It says here There are some cases when a half blood demon, is born from a Pure Demon parent, there is a chance the male child can be early at getting his demon. He has to be more careful though that he is still young. He should learn to control it before he can use it too much only once in a while." "Hmm. Did they say how soon?" "That's the thing. It looks like the page has been torn out." "Well I'm going to clean up and ask uncle Aiden. Want to come with me?" "Uh you go ahead. I have something to do." I had a worried face. "Don't worry I''ll be fine." "Ok please be safe whatever you are doing." "I will. You be safe too." Once she left he thought to himself. 'I can't tell her it was mother and father that tore the book. I went to his office and was announced I needed to see him. They let me in and uncle was in his office looking for a book. "Hello uncle. Are you looking for something?" "Yeah, the book on demons have you seen it?" "You let me borrow it remember?" "Who told you that?" "The butler that gave me food. Was that not, ok? I'm sorry. I brought it with me to ask a question." "Sigh. OK what is it? I have a feeling its about that ripped page, right?" "Yes, it is. Kade was upset that he wouldn't turn demon for another 5 years then I read that one passage. I noticed the page was torn." "Yes, it was torn for a reason. I'm sorry at the moment I can't tell you for yours and especially Kade's safety." "Well, if we don't know I don't want him to turn demon all of a sudden and hurt me. That is what we are both worried about. You want to see my demon fine. I will show you. I will do anything to get that last page." "I'm sorry but no. I promised your parents I wouldn't tell them." "Uncle I am 17 years old already. Old enough to watch my own little brother. Hell, I even have a child. I'm sure I can handle it. I promise not to tell Kade. I will be prepared." "I will think about it. I have to talk to someone before I can make that decision. I put my bed clothes on. Had my regular clothes under. I was going to sneak into uncles office to try to find that page. I just got under my covers when there was a knock on my door. 'Knock Knock.' "Who is it?" "Its Kade." "Come in Kade." "Oh are you getting ready to sleep?" "Yeah apparently uncle didn't say anything about me having the book. I have a hunch that the butler wanted us to know something in it for our safety." "Yeah I was about to tell you that." "I didn't tell uncle that but I'm sure the butler will tell him why he did it." "Yeah. So you know who tore the pages right?" "Yeah he said mom and dad did for our safety. I got him to talk to me tomorrow about telling me." "Sigh. If your planning on sneaking out to find the page, don't bother. I found a copy of the book in my room. I'm sure the butler put it there on purpose. Here is the book. Its hard to understand would you explain it to me?" "I will try." Then I went back to the same page we did before then as he said the page was there. "Is it the page about when you could transform you couldn't understand?" "Yeah that's right." "Ok so it says here, "He could transform at the earliest of 12 or 13 years old. He should be mentored by a pure demon or half demon until he can control it. If he transforms and doesn't have control he can attack people at random. Maybe a Sibling who is half or whole demon can help. Maybe she can even train with him." "Hmm. So does that mean you should train too? Can you control yours yet?" "Well not really. I mean I sort of can but not really. I guess its with a little help I can. I can talk to uncle about maybe sending someone back home with us so we can." "I don't think so sis. I have a feeling when he first saw us, that he was planning on too anyway." "Oh ok well cool then. We don't have to worry about it." "Hmm. That's good. Yawn. Brother do you think everything will work out?" "Yeah im sure it will. Good night sis." "Hmm Night little brother." Then she fell asleep. "Good grief sis. you worry to much." Then he brushed her hair for a bit and left.

While Zuri was sleeping, she seemed to have a restless sleep. She was having flash backs of what happened to her from before. "Hmm. No don't go. No." She was whining in her sleep. "Uncle Cass what is this?" Then she woke up. "I can't go back to sleep. I guess I will read then." I got a random book and started reading. The book was set 50 years ago. It was about a demon attacking just to get the woman he loved but she died with a baby under her arms. But when he got to her the baby was gone. My head started to hurt. This has happened 11 years ago recently. Did he come back? Could it be the prince's father that attacked in the first place? Could it have been the prince that attacked this time? I'm so confused. I need to read something else. Then I picked a picture book about a princess and a prince who reunited after 6 years. They were siblings. I smiled because they were so happy. Then something happened to the prince. He turned demon and in the end killed his sister. "No No! I gotta get out of here!" I got dressed and snuck out of the castle. I heard voices calling my name but I kept running then my head starting hurting. 'This happened before.' Then I remembered the time I ran from Lia because I didn't want to marry the prince. So that is what happened. Now as for the other things, I have to wait.

I kept running until I found a beautiful lake. It sparkled in the darkness. I got closer. I have this feeling I can turn demon comfortably. I closed my eyes then turned demon. I looked at my hands and relieved I did it. "Now if I can only hold the form long enough." Then I jumped into the lake without thinking. Once I was under, I opened my eyes then tried talking and was shocked I could. "Good I can talk down here and breathe." I swam around. Woah I can see with night vision. Good.

As I was swimming a saw someone I thought I saw in my earlier memories. I swam toward them. It looked like they wanted me to follow them. So I did. I swam as fast as I could getting used to this form.

I found them. "Woah this is a cool place." "Hehe Thank you." "What is your name?" "Oh that's right your memory isn't back yet. I am 13 years old so you wouldn't remember. Um my name is Eri. I know who you are Zuri. Are you having trouble keeping your form?" "Yeah." I can feel myself turning back. "Looks like I can't stay here for long I'm starting to turn back. "When you do, meet me here. Call my name. I can hear you from miles away or someone will tell me. I don't live far from here. Oh and when you get there, people will be there waiting for you. Be prepared to get a lecture." "I figured as much thanks."

I started swimming up hard but weaking quick. "I don't think I'll make it. No. I need to…then blacked out." Someone dived in knowing she would be coming to the surface by now and brought her up out of the water.

Zuri wasn't breathing. She had a weak pulse. Aiden used his power and was able to get most of the water out of her lungs. They both turned her over and the rest she coughed up. "Cough COUGH! Pant. Pant." Then she passed out again. Aiden checked her pulse and was relieved it was back to normal. "OK she will be fine. Lets get someone to change her to dry clothes and let her rest." "Sounds good."

"Hmm. Eri. Where are you?" "I'm right here. Remember what I said. Just call me. Right now you need to wake up." I slowly opened my eyes and felt sluggish. "Ow. My throat hurts." I looked around and saw Kade laying next to me asleep. It was already morning. I used my other hand to brush his hair. Then he woke up and thought he was dreaming at first. "Zuri?" "Yes its me. Zuri! Thank God you are alive! How do you feel?" "Relax. Just a sore throat. Feel sluggish my head feels like its on fire." "You have a fever. You have a cold. Do you remember what happened?" "Hmm. I think I was in the forest. I turned demon and jumped into the lake. I met Eri there. She is a demon too. I think she must be pure. I saw her before. She told me herself." Then Aiden came in. "Hey uncle Aiden." "Did you meet Eri?" "Yeah I did. Sweet girl. She is 2 years older then Kade. She is a full demon." "Yes she is. She was like a sister to you. After your mother died, we thought it would be safer to leave you with your aunt and uncle. I guess I was wrong." "Uncle. Cough COUGH!" I cleared the throat then finished. "Uncle. Its ok. You did what you thought was best for me. Plus Kade said he grew up in a loving family. Right Kade?" "Yeah when you didn't find me, a nice woman picked me up. Even if it was a short time, I had loving parents. Then I had other neighbors raised us up for 10 years then he raised me well. He did what he could to take care of me. Now I am alive and well see. Don't worry about it." "Thanks kids. Plus I think its better to stay in the demon village then the castle anyway." "Remember uncle your coming with us for a time." "Yes I remember." "What do you boys mean?" "You'll figure it out soon sis don't worry."

"There is something I need to tell you both. I got some of my memory back. When I was sleeping and when I ran. Uh. When I was sleeping I saw Casper. I called him uncle Cass back then too. He gave me something. Kade give me my bag please." "OK here you go." Then I opened it up and showed them what I had. "This is what he gave me." I saw Aiden's face in shock. "Where did you get that?!" In my memory Casper gave it to me. apparently I lost it and gave it to a store owner." "It couldn't have been any store owner. When your better you need to show me. For now keep this with you. It will protect you." "Wait I wasn't finished explaining. When I was running I got my memory back of why I ran from aunt Lia. I was forced to marry the prince.
