Chapter 5: Life Starting

"Woah what was that? Was that the bond between brother and sister?" I said. "I think so." Then we all sat down on the couch and Hazel took his dagger out to show Hazel. "Zuri made this for me. Isn't it cool?" "Yeah its awesome! Can I hold it Hazel?" "Yeah sure don't cut yourself." Kade took the sword from Hazel. "Really cool." "Oh I have something for you Kade." He gave the dagger back to Hazel and he put it away.

I came back out with the first dagger I made. "The first dagger I made. I told myself if I had a sibling still alive I would give it to them. Its yours now." "Are you sure Zuri?" "Yes I'm sure." "Thanks." "Now boys just because you have daggers doesn't mean you can try killing each other ok?" "Haha yes Zuri." They both said in unison. "I guess now that we have a woman in the house we have to be careful again." "Haha yeah your right." "OK enough you too. we will have a baby soon enough so grow up enough ok? Sheesh. Your lucky Kade. You aren't old enough to get a job. Unless its odd jobs." "Hey its still a job. I get paid." "By the way Hazel. What is your job? I don't think you ever told me." "I got work tomorrow I'll show you. I'll pick you up from work and we can head over. I would be taking a break. I have a deadline." "Ok sounds good."

Then next day work was over and I went to Hazel's work. "Wait is this an art studio?" "Yeah sort of." "Boss she's here." "Oh hello there Zuri nice to meet you. My name is Zim." "Likewise. Do you mind if I pop in to see what Hazel is working on?" "No go ahead." "Ok thank you."

"This is what I am working on. I am making it for a Client. That is why I am on a deadline. So I have to finish it tonight. They will be picking it up tomorrow." "Oh well should I go then?" "No stay here. Its only me right now. Here take a look at these while I'm finishing up here." "Sure." I opened up the book and was shocked at the drawings he drew. "Mother? She had her necklace on. Did he know my mother?" "He would have been 3 so I doubt it." said Zala. "Remember he saw the picture as well." "Yeah true." That made me relived. Then I looked at a few more. I saw a picture of me. I blushed when I saw it. that was what I looked like on our date. Then I cleared my throat and turned the pages. They were pretty scenery pictures. "Wait a minute. Why does this place seem familiar." Then I looked at Hazel and said, "Hazel? Sorry to bug you but could I have this picture here?" "Yeah sure hold on a sec." He took the page out and gave it to her. "Where are you going?" "I have to go somewhere. I'll see you at home." "OK be careful." "Yeah I will."

I ran to the Elders place and knocked on his door. Luckily it wasn't too late. The Elder opened the door. "Oh Zuri. Is something wrong?" "I need to ask you something about a memory." "Sure come in." "When I saw the picture that Hazel drew here I had a flash back." "Ah yes. It was beautiful wasn't it?" "What is it?" It's a meadow near where the castle is. I assume your memories will come back faster if you went there. It seems like you are remembering your time there." "Why would I when I was raised with my aunt and uncle?" "When you get them back you will soon find out." "I knew you when you were little. I used to work at the palace but now am retired and ended up an elder here." "What did you do there?" "I was the your grandma's butler and your mothers." "I see. I need to talk to Hazel and Kade. After the baby is born I want to go back and meet my uncle." "Yes that would be wise. He heard you were still alive and has been waiting to meet you. I was told." "What is my uncle like? Have you met him?" "I have met him a few times. He always looks so serious. I rarely see him smile." "Does he have any kids or a wife?" "He did but they died. Once he retires from king, the next closest relatives that are demons would take over. So if you show up it would be you." "I can't. Even if he asked me. It would be too much." "I'm sure he would understand. You didn't grow up that way." "Well I better head home. Uncle. Oh yes. Hazel and I are officially boyfriend and girlfriend now just to let you know." "Congratulations. Be careful out there." "Thanks uncle. Bye." Then I left and headed for home.

Time passed and I was getting bigger. I had 1 month or 2 before I gave birth. I was confined to my room. I was only allowed out to take walks and stretch a little. Kira came over a lot so I can have a girl to talk to. Kade just had his 11th birthday not that long ago. I was rubbing my belly talking to the baby. "Hello in there. Mommy is waiting for you. So is uncle Kade." When I talked about names with Kade, if it was a boy we would name him either Kei or Rio (fathers name). If it was a girl either Aqua or Rivera (Mom's name.) We told these names to Hazel and he liked them. I was talking to my baby and rubbing it when I heard a knock on my door. "Who is it?" "Hazel and Jim." "Come in. Oh I see Zira and the girls from work as well." "Yeah they wanted to come see you." "I sat up and got comfortable. How is work girls?" "Its going ok. Everyone misses you." "Yeah I miss everyone too. Once I have this baby an heal, I will be back working. Elder said he would watch the baby. There are a lot of young mothers and grandma's that work there that can help out." "That's good." Oh yeah I forgot to say I am 17 now as well. So we talked awhile and Hazel put his hand on her belly. "The baby kicked! He kicked me!" "Haha yeah. He loves you already." "Haha." "Everyone laughed."

A couple more months passed it was time for me to give birth. I was in the infirmary and Hazel was with me. He held my hand. Kade was outside keeping himself busy so he wouldn't hear me scream. I promised I wouldn't name the baby until he was here. The doc checked on me and said it was almost time. Kade wasn't far. Busying himself.

"Ok when I say push you push ok?" I nodded. Hazel had my hand. "Ok ready? Push!" I pushed about 4 or 5 times and the baby came out. I delivered my placenta. Once I was cleaned up and the baby was too, Hazel got Kade. "You look tired sis." "Yeah it takes a lot out of a woman after pushing a 7 lb baby out of them." "Aww 7 lbs. Boy or girl?" "It was a boy. The doctor brought the baby to me. "Here is your baby boy." "Yep ok its official he is definitely a Rio." "OK Rio it is." "Hello Rio. I'm your uncle Kaden." "I'm your future step dad." Said Hazel. "I kissed my baby boy and let Hazel hold him for a bit before Kade got to hold him. Uncle Cass heard so he came over to check it out. "Uncle Cass. This is Rio." "Ah a little Lad. Hello there little one." "I'm your great uncle Cass." The baby was sleeping soundly in uncle Cass's arms. "Do you have everything you need for the baby?" "Haha more than enough. The girls and Kira mostly is going to spoil my child." "Haha yeah she likes spoiling kids." Once uncle left, it was Jim and the girls turn." "I'll head out for a bit so they can visit." "OK sure." Hazel handed the baby to Jim. "What is his name?" "Rio." Said Hazel. "Hello there Rio. I'm uncle Jim. You will have a playmate when you get old enough. This here is your aunt Zira, Zoe, Aria." Then Zira held her and so did the others. Then they gave the baby back to Hazel. We had to give the baby powder milk since I didn't make enough. In 3 days I would be able to go home. Hazel laid the baby in her little crib beside me the hospital has for him. I held his tiny hand and went to sleep. Hazel said he would watch the baby while I slept.

I woke up when it was time to leave. "Woah I slept for a full 3 days. Sorry about that Hazel and Kade." "Its all good." We got on a carriage and Kade helped with the bags. "Thanks Kade." "No problem sister."

Oh yeah. I had gotten my demon a day before my 17th birthday. I was a late bloomer. I had eyes, Horns and a tail like a demon my skin was a sea green with teal stripes. (Like an avatar with horns) My teeth were sharp as well. I had fangs on top and bottom. My eye color was gold.

We got home, I was totally relaxed. Kade took care of the baby with Kira while me and Hazel had some alone time.

"Finally we get some alone time." I said. "Yeah we won't get much of it now that a baby is in the picture." We went to the park and snuggled under a tree. Now that I gave birth, can we talk about going to my old palace? I want to meet my uncle. Uncle Cass said he wanted to see the baby too." "Well lets wait until the baby is a year old for that." "Yeah good idea. But can we still go this year?" "Yes but lets wait a month or 2 at least ok?" "OK you're the best Hazel." "I know you keep telling me that." Then we kissed.

"I can't wait for 1 month or two so we can do more than kissing." I said. I saw his look. "Don't worry I now how to track now and know when my safe days are." "Good. Then yes we can." I laid my head on his chest since I was that tall compared to him. Oh yeah he is 20 now. In 2 years I want to have another baby. I only plan on having 2 of them so don't worry." "Yeah we could do that. I'd be happy to have a birth child with you. I am happy with Rio too. I'm glad I get to raise a child with you. A little fast but that's ok. We can manage."

"When do we plan on getting married?" I asked him. "About that." I saw him break out purple velvet box. He got down on one knee and said, "I haven't known you for long. But what I do know of you I love. It will be rough with a baby in the picture but we can make it. I will try to be the best I can be to you. Please marry me." "Yes. Yes! Of course I will marry you." He twirled me around. Then kissed me. I heard people clapping. "What? What is all this?" I asked surprised. "We all wanted to surprise you. Here is your baby." "Hey little man." I said to him. "How was he? Did you have trouble?" "No he was good baby. Only cried to eat or need to be changed." Said Kade. "Good. You know next year if you want a job, you can watch Rio. Hazel and I will pay you." "Awesome. Ok 5 dollars an hour." "We will talk about it Kade." I said. "Cool. Can I hang with my friends now? Congrats by the way." "Yes Kade go have fun." I said. "Are you sure Zuri?" "Yes we had enough alone time for now."

I can't wait to get back to work. Oh yeah we need to talk to the elder about when we will be going to meet uncle." "At least wait a month Zuri. No rush." "It doesn't hurt to talk to uncle Cass about it right?" Tomorrow ok?" "Yay! OK." There was a party at the park. They assumed I would say yes. It's a good thing I did. We mingled and had a good time. Kade's friends wanted to see the baby so they came over. "Aww he's so cute and squishy." Said one of his friends. "I know I thought the same thing when I held him in the hospital. He is even more squishy now." "Ok enough admiring my nephew lets go." "Haha that's cute." Said Hazel. "What is it?" I was 8 years old when we found Kade. I said the same thing. They admired my baby brother." "Oh funny." I just wish I can remember. I mean I'm starting to but its mostly flashes right now." "You'll remember. Take your time." He hugged me and the baby gently. "Hey tomorrow can I take the baby to work? I won't go inside. I'll just have the guys meet him." "Its fine. I'll take him the next day to meet my friends." "That works."
