Chapter 25: Untitled

It had been another month already. Then I got word Ace wanted to see me. "Dad. I have somewhere to be. Watch Rio please." "Yes Zuri I know." Then she rushed out.

I got to the house and knocked on the door. "He has been expecting you. Go on in." Then I went in and rushed to his room. "So what did you find out?" He handed me a piece of paper, and I stood there to look at it. "Is there anything I should know about her?" "Nope. Its all right there. I didn't talk to her, I just got her information. I hope its legit." "Ok thanks Ace. I owe you one." Then I folded up the piece of paper, and hid it in my pocket. When I get home, I will put it in an envelope and put his name on it.

"Dad I have to go in my room for a second." "Ok don't be too long. Your son needs you." Then I did just that and came out. "Ok dad. I have a surprise for you." He looked confused. "What is it?" "Don't open it here, open it when you get back to your friends house. I got it from here." "Ok then. Thanks Zuri." Then father left.

He was on his way to meet up with some friends, then he decided to open up the letter. He was shocked. "Now way! Did she?! That darn girl! Well I guess I can see her reasoning. Sigh. I guess I owe it to her to send Uria a letter then." So when he got to his friends house, he wrote a letter to her and gave it to a bird to send her address.

A couple days later, he got a letter back from her. He was shocked. "She had been single all this time. Waiting for me? She wants me to see her? Wait that's right she lives in Ben's village now. Sigh. Then he told his buddies he was going on a trip. He doesn't know when he will be back. "Ok we will let your daughter know if she asks." "Thanks guys."

"Ok little Rio. What shall we do today? Oh yeah I told Aiden I would go with him to see uncle Aiden. We are going to go on a ride in a carriage." "Soma? Do you have anything going on?" "Nope is there somewhere we are going?" "Yes. To meet your father. We are taking an open carriage." "Ok then. Lets go in."

A few days later we got there and they let us both in. When we got into the room, I said, "Your majesties." We both bowed. "Rise." "So what brings my niece here? Is there some problem?" "Uh not really. Can we meet in the parlor room?" "Yes lets go."

"I see you brought Rio with you." He got down and crawled over to Aiden. "He is crawling everywhere. In 6 months he will be a year already." "So what seems to be the issue here?" I looked at Soma. Then he nodded and explained his situation. He told Aiden what he told me. "Oh my. Uh. I didn't think. It was only one time. I'm sorry Soma." "Its fine. I am 124 years old. Same age as Kei." "Oh well. Sorry again." "Its fine. Now. I wanted to get to know my father. To see what kind of man you were. Mom had passed on when I was 10 years old. She got sick. I was raised by some neighbors who knew me." "I hope they treated you well?" "Yes. A little too well. I see you have a new partner. I'm happy for you. I heard about your wife. I'm sorry." "Its ok. Rio was making funny sounds. Then he got down and went to Soma. "Haha hello little Rio. Come to say hi cousin Soma?" Rio stood on Soma and grabbed his nose. "Ow. Easy the nose. You need to clip this monsters nails. They are sharp." "Sorry I know. Are you ok?" I giggled. "Yeah I'll live." "Its strange though. Do any of you know why Rio is more advanced than most babies? I mean at 4 months he could crawl. That usually doesn't happen until 7 or 8 months." "Are you sure?" said Soma. "Yeah. Do you know anything about it?" "Yeah. Its rare. You will definitely have your hands full then. There had only been 2 cases. Its in some old notes. Hang on a minute." Then he went into the bookcase and grabbed a book. "This here is an old scientists journal." Then he sat down and showed Zuri and Aiden. Rio was looking at the book too. Then he pointed to a picture. "Papa." "What? Your first word? Are you saying Grandpa?" "Papa." Again. "Aiden is this your father?" He looked at the picture. "No but it looks like it could be Droll's father." "So, Rio is crazy smart." Then he looked at the information. "Ok here it said, the second case was a man named Zeel. When he was younger, he was smarter than most babies. Stuff that would happen at 7 or 8 months he started at 5 months." "Yeah, except he started a month earlier than him. Maybe he is taking after him." "Let's continue. As he grew, he was smarter. "So did your mother find someone else?" "No. She had me with her sister. My Auntie by her side." "I see." "Um uncle Aiden? Hazel had a house made by the lake where Eri lives. He wanted to make it so if I ended up this way forever, I could go into the lake anytime. But if I get sick, of course I will still have to take the pills." "You take the water pills don't you?" Your father chose to have him." "I see." "Ok you better get home. I'm sure Kade and Hazel are wondering where you are." "Its ok they know. I left a note. But we still should head back. I haven't seen Tyde in awhile. He must be busy." "Ok then. Thaks for coming by. Oh and Soma? Thanks for letting me be a part of your life." "Your welcome." Then they got into the carriage and left.

A few days later they ended up home. "DADA!" "Woah you actually said Dada. Yes that's right. We are going to see Dada." When we got inside Hazel was waiting for us. "Hazel. Listen to this." "Dada." "Rio! Yes I'm your DaDa! I love you little man!" then he hugged Rio. "Uh when we looked at a random book of 2 cases of what he is, my grandpa, Fathers dad, Rio said papa." "Haha. Maybe he can say that when dad comes back where ever he is." "Wait dad's gone?" "Haha like you don't know." "How do you know?" "I have my ways. Plus I know you." "Yeah Your right. About a week later, I heard a knock on our door. 'Knock Knock' Then I opened the door and saw dad. "DAD! Your back! Are you ok?" I asked worriedly. Then he changed his face. "Gottcha Kiddo. Its payback." Then he kissed me on the head. I invited him in. "So what is the verdict?" "Sigh. You know you shouldn't have done that little girl." "I know dad. But you have done so much for us after finding out we are alive and well. You still are taking care of us." "Thanks anyway. So you want to know what happened huh?" "Yes father." Then we all sat down and Rio was asleep in his playpen. "Ok shoot dad." "Ok then. Well I'm sure you all know what this nosey one did, and where I was." We all nodded our head in agreement. "Well when I got there, I visited my brother in law and his kids. I stayed the night at his house for the first night. Hell I even told him what you did and why I was there. With a little push the next day, I went to go see her. At first I saw her through the window. She looked the same as I remembered her other than the hair color dimming and a few wrinkles. I knocked on her door reluctantly." "Why didn't you want to knock on her door dad?" "Well Zuri. I hadn't seen her since Jr. High. Of course I would be nervous." "OK enough Zuri." Said Hazel. I wondered if she would remember me. So I saw her open the door. She looked shocked. Who are you? She said. I was stuck in my demon form of course so she didn't recognize me. I told her who I was. She wanted me to prove who I was and I did. She invited me in. Then we started talking about the old days, and how she moved to where she was when she turned 18. She never had any kids and never dated. She said she waited for me all this time. I apologized to her because I didn't know. She told me its ok. That I was there now. I told her about you and Kade. About what happened to your mother too. I told her that she too was a demon. That you were too and in the future your brother. She nodded in agreement. She didn't care. She loved me for who I was. She said. That made me cry. She wants to see me again. In fact." Dad cleared his throat. "In fact she is coming here in a few days." "Oh cool. I'd love to meet her." I ran over to hug my dad.
