Chapter 21: Transformation of the wound

Things were calmer now. He had settled in. There was a knock on the door. 'Knock Knock' I opened the door and it was Vince. "Oh hello Vince please come in." He came in with some guests. "Who might these two be?" I asked. "Please introduce yourselves." "Yes sir." Then they both looked at us. "Hello my name is Oren." "Hello my name is Nova." "They are healers to help continue Tydes training." "Tyde stood up. I'm Tyde. Nice to meet you." Then he bowed. "I would be honored to learn from you." Everyone was shocked at how polite he was. "Woah Tyde. I didn't know you can be so polite." I joked. "Hey just because I'm mostly a troublemaker doesn't mean I am all the time." "Yay! It means I don't have to see him all the time." Said Kade. "Hey Kade. Its not like your home all the time either." I said. "OK ok you too. Not in front of Rio. Don't be a bad influence." "Oh Hello Rio. Mind if I can hold the little guy?" "Sure Vince." I gave him the baby, Oren and Nova looked at the baby and smiled. "Oh right. This is Rio. He is 4 months old." "He's so adorable." Said Nova. "I agree" Said Oren. After awhile he gave the baby back and said, "Is it ok if you start on Monday Tyde?" "I can start anytime if that's ok with Zuri?" "Its fine with me." "Ok then. Let's start Monday. They have to prepare." "Ok sounds good then." So they left and Tyde went to his room.

I went over to see if he was ok. "Are you ok Tyde?" No answer. "Tyde?" Then before I know it he came out fine. "Are you ok?" "I'm fine why? I came to give you something. I made this a long time ago. Had no one to give it too." "What is it?" "Yeah I have no idea. It was some random thing I made. More like a trinket or good luck charm." "Well thank you Tyde." "Ok Hazel. Time for you to go to work. Kade. Time for you to go over to Kira's." "Yes sister." He rolled his eyes. Then they both left. "Sigh Rio. Please don't be like your uncle Kade. He is really annoying. Be more like daddy. He is less annoying." "Haha is that so?" "Oh hey Tyde." "Hey. So is there anything you need done?" "Sigh. Yeah could you watch him a bit? I need a nap really bad." "Yeah sure no problem." "If you have any questions just wake me up." "Ok sure." I went to my room and laid down. "(Yawn) It's a good thing I'm a light sleeper." Then I closed my eyes for a bit. 

After about 1hour and ½ I woke up well rested. I went out and saw a precious sight. I saw both of them sleeping on the couch. "Oh so sweet." I got an extra blanket and covered them. I went in the kitchen to make him a snack for when he wakes up. Just as I was finishing he woke up. He remembered he had Rio and laid him in his playpen. "Hey Zuri. Did you have a nice nap?" "Yeah. Did you and Rio have a nice nap?" "Haha yeah. I tired both of us out. He's still sleeping though." "Oh ok. Well I just finished making you a little snack to thank you for watching Rio for me. Here you go." "Oh fresh cookies. Thanks." "Sure." Then we sat down and talked a bit.

Finally Monday came and everyone was gone now but me and Rio. "Well Rio its me and you now. What shall we do? I know. Why don't we go for a walk?" Then I put him in his playpen while I went to get his stroller. As I was putting it up, I felt a sharp pain where my wound was. "No. Not now." My wound was really hurting and starting to bleed. Tyde must have heard it because he came rushing in. "Zuri!" "Hurry get Hazel. He can watch the baby while you help me." "Yes I will." Luckily it wasn't far.

"Hazel! Emergency at home! We need you now!" He stopped what he was doing and ran with Hazel. They got home and I was on the ground. "Zuri! What is going on?!" "She will be fine. Its just her wound transforming. Take a walk with the baby. Take him to the park or something. I will help her." "Yeah fine." Then he took Rio to Kira's to tell Kade what has happened.

"Hang in there Zuri! I can ease the pain by taking some for you, but I can't stop or slow what's happening." I nodded in agreement. Then he touched her wound and took some of the pain. "Holy shit. This is what you are feeling. This does hurt." "How long does it last?" "Well if its this far already not much longer. The more finished it gets the more painful. Don't worry I'm here. I will be here until its done." "Thanks." Then it kept going and going. Then it came closer to finishing and the most excruciating pain happened and I felt Tyde take some so its not so bad then we both screamed until things finally settled down in the next 5 minutes. Oh and her demon was fluctuating while this was happening. Then once things were calmed down I looked at Tyde. I smiled then passed out.

He lifted her up and took her too her bed to rest. After he left and calmed down, he went to see if he could find Hazel. So he left and asked people if they had seen Hazel. They told him he was at Kira's and they led him to her house. "Thank you ladies." He winked and blew them a kiss. Then they swooned and left. Then he went in.

"Hello Kade and Hazel." They looked at him. "How is Zuri? Is she ok?" "Come see for yourself." They both left and followed Tyde home.

Hazel and Kade ran to her room. Tyde followed them but slower. "Will she turn demon?" "No one knows until they wake up. The affects happen when the person wakes up. Also they pass out from the pain. I helped her by taking some of the pain. Man that was really painful." "Thank you Tyde." Said Hazel. "Yeah. I guess I could get used to you. After all you did help my sister." "Hey I told you I can't betray your sister. I don't feel like dying any time soon." "Oh yeah. I forgot about that."

A few hours later she started waking up. Her body was starting to change to her demon. "Well it looks like she will be demon until we can find someone who can help her." "Hmm. Pant. Pant. Cough Cough." "Hey there you ok?" "Tyde?" "Yeah I'm still here. Hazel and Kade are here now. You ended up a demon after all. I saw how much you were fighting it. Good fight." "Ah shoot. You did say someone can help me turn back?" "I said I think. I won't know for sure." "When can I know." "Get some rest first then we can go to Vince to see if he knows." "Ok sounds good." Then I closed my eyes and got some more rest.

It was about dinner time when she was well rested. She looked at her hands. "Well it looks like I turned demon after all. Sigh. I just hope I can get help." I sat at the table and ate quietly. No one spoke to me. They knew I needed time. Then I finally broke the silence. "So tomorrow can I see Vince?" "Yes we can go tomorrow when you are ready." "I'm going to go for a walk to let my stomach settle. Hazel want to walk with me?" "Yes lets go." So we both dressed warmly and went outside.

It was quiet for awhile until I broke the silence. "Hazel. I'm scared. What if there is no one who can help me turn back? What if I have to stay demon forever? I would have to go to water more often. How is that going to work?" "Woah relax there Zuri. Lets save the what if's until it actually happens ok? Plus we have prepared a surprise in case something like that happens anyway." "What is it?" "Well we have to wait first." "Fine. Be that way." Then I snuggled up to him as we were walking. "Do you really like my demon form Hazel?" "Yes you are beautiful. I hope dad thinks so too." After we were done walking, we headed home.

It was bedtime when we got home. The baby had already been put in his crib and is fast asleep. In his own room. "Thanks Kade and Tyde." "No problem." Said Tyde. Then I saw him finishing up the dishes. "Oh you don't have to do that Tyde." "Its fine. it's the least I can do to help out around here. You have your hands full with Rio and Kade. I should help out with chores." "Thanks a lot. You're a big help. Well I better get to bed. Don't stay up to late boys." Then Hazel went to bed with me.

We got dressed in our bed clothes and laid down. We turned to each other and I asked. "When are we going to get married? I will be 18 next year sometime." "Yes I know. The war is as well. What about having a wedding after everything." "No. I think earlier is better. If something happened to the ones we love, I would regret not having them. The sooner the better. I was thinking when I am 17 ½ we should get married. Rio would already be a year old." That could work too. Then I heard to boys yell goodnight. "Goodnight boys!" I yelled. Luckily Rio didn't wake up. "When we figure out my situation, we can have some fun. What do you say?" "You mean?" "Yes lets do it." "OK cool. Thanks Zuri. Its been a hard time holding back." "I know. I'm sorry." "Hey its ok." Then I snuggled up to him and he kissed me on the head and we both went to sleep.

Then next morning, I woke up and put on some clothes which father bought for me for my demon. I had holes in my pants for my tail. Then Hazel and I went to go see Vince.

"Vince are you here?!" "Yes be right there!" I heard some crashing then I heard an "Ow! Why did you do that?!" Then he came out. "Ah. Sorry about that. So I see you turned demon after all. I suppose you came to see if you can get some help?" "Yes. That's why we are here." "Well I am the only one who could help you. I am the strongest wizard. First we need to do some tests to see if you will be able to handle the help I give you." "Sure no problem. OK first we need to get you in the water. You are looking a little dry. I have a tank in here." "Hazel you are free to follow." So he followed us.

I climbed up the ladder and hopped into the tank, it felt nice. I swam around a bit. While she was doing that Vince talked to Hazel. "So will you be able to help her?" "Sigh. The truth is, I don't know if she will be able to handle the tests quite yet. She is still young. She might be stronger in her mid-20's or early 30's but who knows. I will still do the tests though. She could be stronger than we know. I'm sure there are things we don't even know about her, or her about herself. She may end up stronger than we think. Lets hope that's the case with the war coming up." "Yeah. About that. Don't you think its smart to just keep her in her demon form until the battle is done?" "Well if the battle is near water she should be fine. If she leaves the water for too long she could get sick." "Sigh. that's true. So there are pro's and cons of it huh?' "That's to assume she will be able to handle the tests though." "Yeah." Then they walked back to where she was.
