Chapter 18: The Truth about my transformation

"So it was Zuri all along huh?" "Hey he didn't say it was her. He said she was involved." Said Hazel. "That means dad should be back soon right?" Not long after I said that he walked in. "Dad did you find out who did it?" "No. Did something happen here?" "Zanter was here. He didn't cause trouble don't worry. He came to tell me he was there the night I was stabbed. He was trying to come and stop what was about to happen but the person got away. He saw who was there. When he calmed down he saw Zira. She wasn't the one who killed me just that she was involved. He didn't really see who stabbed me they were cloaked. He was about to run over and get me when he saw you pick me up." "I see. That guy is always a trouble maker. When it comes to serious stuff he's good at getting information. I'll let him handle things for once." "Woah dad. Are you seriously trusting him? Is the sky falling?" "Ok, Ok I know it's a miracle. Enough now."

"Zanter was a good friend of mine growing up. He was the reason I ended up a troublemaker. I don't exactly remember how I met him though. He is 20 now. Yes he is half demon as well. I didn't know it back then. I hardly remember mom so I didn't know anything about them until coming here. Well I did but where I came from they were mythical. Now dad. I need to contact uncle Aiden about something important." I went to my room to write a letter that I was going to come over to the palace in a couple of days. That it was important,

It was the day to leave for uncles. I wanted Hazel dad and Kade to hear what I find out. Rio wasn't a year yet but he was old enough to travel. So we brought him as well. We all took turns holding Rio.

Finally after a long journey I made it to the palace. "What a long journey. I might have to rest first before we talk." I said. "Good idea." Said Hazel. "You look exahsted plus your still in pain right?" "I'll Live."

We got inside then we bowed. "Rise my family." We all got up. "We have rooms available for you 3. They were just cleaned and prepared." "Thank you Uncle." He nodded then I went to my room with the baby and saw a crib in there. "Aww uncle is so thoughtful. He brought a crib for the little guy." Then I put him in there with his pacifier and he fell asleep almost instantly. That is when I decided to change into something more comfortable. Then laid down got under the covers and decided to rest.

There was a knock on her door but she didn't hear it so they cracked the door and saw her and the baby in his crib sleeping. It was Hazel. He went over to give her a kiss on the forehead and brushed her hair back. Before he went over to the baby he said I love you to her. When he got over to Rio he kissed him and told him he loved him the same way. Then he left to let them sleep.

Once he went out Kade and dad were there. "She and the baby are asleep. Let them rest." "Yeah I would think so too." said dad. Then they went over to find uncle Aiden.

They found him in his office. "Hello brother in law." Said Droll. "Oh hello there boys. Is she and the baby resting?" "Yes they are. They need it." "Yes they do. How far has the mark gotten Droll?" "Looks like Kei slowed it down when he found her in the forest so it hasn't gotten far yet." "Mind if I take a look at it when she wakes up?" "I'm sure it will be fine."

A few hours later I was well rested. Looks like the baby let mommy sleep. He looks like he's about ready to wake up too. "Hello my sweet Rio. Did you have a nice nap?" He smiled. My baby is 4 months old. I have been here a year now. "Lets get you changed little man. Then we will let you see your daddy." So I changed his butt and threw the diaper in the chute that goes to the trash. Then I washed my hands and took the baby down to the others.

"Hello everyone. That was a good nap. He let me sleep. When I woke up, he was just waking up. Here daddy. He wants you." Hazel happily took Rio then held him. "Hello little guy. Did you miss me?" The baby laughed. "I take that as a yes." "So uncle I came here to ask about something important." "Before we talk, can I see the wound you got? Your father send a letter about what happened if your wondering how I knew." "Yeah sure." I Lifted my shirt over my belly button and showed him the wound. "Yeah it sure is going slow. Before he put a spell on it, it had gone quite a bit. If it keeps being this slow, then we're talking about having it complete by 2 months." "Still that soon?" "Yes I'm afraid. Now what did you need to talk about Zuri?"

"OK. Uncle. I want to know what happened after I turned demon when I was 11 or 12 years old. Kei told me that is how we became friends. He was told to calm me down since he was the same demon I was." "I see. I bet he wasn't happy either." "Well it looked like he was hesitant to tell me but he did. He said you would know the rest. I heard it was rare for a woman to around that time and it was only boys who started that young. Even that is rare." "Yes that is true. I think the reason that happened is because one parent was a pure demon. Back in old times pure demons weren't becoming extinct. There were royals and non royals. Now a days there are very few pure demons left. Maybe in the hundreds or thousands but not much. Here its just the royals that are pure demon. Other than your father of course, and the maids. So that is probably why you turned so soon. Now you want to know what happened back then righ? Why you just recently turned." "Yes." "Sigh ok follow me. Its easier if I showed you. The baby will have to say with one of the maids. Its not a place for him." I handed the baby over and followed them.

"This is a laboratory. We use this place to find cures for poisons and any sickness one has. Demons and half demons come in here to donate blood to help the cause. Now this was your room back then. You were well fed and taken care of. Once in awhile we had to draw blood. Now do you want to see inside?" "Yeah. Come in too guys." They followed me in. I was shocked at what I saw. I looked around and saw toys a 10 to 12 year old girl would like. There were dolls, stuffed animals, a journal, and drawing stuff. I went to where I saw the journal and decided to read it. Kade picked up my drawing pad.

After awhile uncle came to check on us. "Do you remember anything?" "Not really. Hey Kade? Can I see my drawings?" "Yeah here you go." I went through my doodle book, I saw that I must have had a crush on Kei because I drew him and me with hearts. "Oh dear. I'm so embarrassed. Hazel it's a childhood crush I swear. Even if I don't remember." "I know don't worry about it." Then we heard someone calling for uncle. "Yo Aiden! You down here?!" He went out and saw it was Kei. "Oh Kei long time no see. What brings you here?" then I heard the name Kei and I crumpled the picture and threw it away. "Haha don't want Kei to see you had a crush on him?" said Kade. "Hey be nice to your sister." Said dad. Then Aiden brought Kei in.

"Hello Kei good to see you again when I am not injured." "Yeah you are looking well." "Yeah I feel fine." "I came to see the wound on your stomach." "Oh ok sure." I showed him the wound. "Yeah your right Aiden. I'm sorry I couldn't make it slower. I'm still new to it." "Its fine. Do you know if Zanter has found the culprit?" "Actually that is the other reason I am here. He found out who Zira was there with. Since I was coming here anyway he told me to tell you. I was shocked to find out who it was." "Who was it?" "It was Eri's father. When he got information from Zira she said she didn't know why they wanted to just that they needed too for some reason." "Thank you Kei. I need you to stay here as well for what uncle is about to tell me." "Ok sure." He told Kei a review of what we were talking about already. "Oh ok so what happened?" said Kei. "We made sure to suppress her demon until she was of age. I never thought it would be a day before her 17th birthday." "Who suppressed it uncle?" "It was Zala. I wonder where she went? She said she wanted to be here." "Oh she was right behind me. she said she had something to do then she will be down." Said Kei. "Was it really that bad that I had to be suppressed uncle?" I saw him look at Kei. "What? What did I do? Is this scratch not the only thing I gave him?"

That is when we heard the door open. Zala walked in. "Well this place hasn't changed much. Hello Zuri. Good to see you again." "Yeah likewise. Now I need to know what exactly happened that day I turned. Someone please tell me." "That is why I am here. To show you what happened. Now remember it's a memory. No one can hear you or touch you. You can't touch them either. It will go right through you." We all nodded in agreement. Then she chanted a spell, then everything changed.

Once it changed, we were still in my old room. Then we opened the door which was real along with the places. Just the people weren't they were from the past. Then we headed toward the room where I was just a normal girl. Then Zala explained. "This was before you turned. You were a normal human girl. Playing with your dolls. Ok where is where it gets interesting. Your having a headache right now. We don't know why but that headache is what triggered your transformation." Then when my young self-turned, we followed her the open part of the lab. That is where young Kei tried to calm me down.

I saw the first scratch I gave him. I kept hearing him say stuff to calm me down. Then I got him worse. This time he could barely stand. Then I heard him say, "Its ok. Zuri. You didn't mean to. I'll be fine." That's when he fell to his knees and I saw myself calming down. "No Kei!" My young self shouted. Then before I can take a step my body weakened to the point I couldn't move, probably due to the sudden transformation.

I heard Aiden call for Zala. She was shocked by what she saw. "Is Kei going to be ok?! What happened?!" "Zuri turned so soon. I need you to suppress her demon until her body is ready." "Are you sure? Can we just train her?" "Did you see what she did to Kei? I hate to do it but we have no other choice. Even training can be hard at this point." "Yes I understand. Where is the girl?" "She's asleep in her room. Best do it when she is asleep." "Yes sir." Then we all went back to the room to see what happened. She put her hands on my back and a purple light came out. I was groaning for some reason. "Was this supposed to be painful Zala?" "Well normally it would be. You were asleep so the most you did was just groan a little." That is when everything went back to normal. I'm sure everyone is waiting to see my reaction to what happened.
