The Trial's Party
Darkness filled the large bedroom with a four-pillar bed and extravagant but aged furniture while three figures sat huddled together in candlelight. Asmodeus closed his eyes while sitting in his private room after meeting with the empress.
He reached out, stroking Erika's soft cheek, which remained beside him.
"Do you think that I should have been more selfish, Eri?"
"I think Asmodeus did his best. You didn't want to make Ciela sad right?"
Erika shuffled in his arms, her golden hair flowing over her shoulder as she hugged his chest.
"Why would I be sad?"
Ciela's green hair fluttered in the wind as she watched her friend and fiance hugging each other. A slight irritation, like small needles pricking her chest, caused her lips to tremble. She stood up and moved behind Asmodeus, her arms wrapping around his neck and her head falling on top of his. "I am happy; you agreed to help my mother and save my father."
