Personal Request

Once the parade was over and all the parties throughout the city had ended, the early morning returned to silence. Alex woke up later in the day than usual, but given the fact nobody in the city had likely gone to sleep before 2am it was understandable.

He was about to shift out of his bed to start his morning when he realized he wasn't alone. Lifting his blankets slightly revealed the messy haired form of a sleeping Mirajane. 'I guess there is no harm in sleeping a little later' he thought as the memories from the party started coming back to him in bits and pieces.

He could tell from the fact they were both still wearing clothes that nothing physical had happened. As he lay there, snuggling with the sleeping woman wrapped around his side, he tried remembering how they got to this point.

'I remember there being a challenge of some sort. Maybe we had a sparring match? If so, who won? Though if there was a bet or wager of some kind I don't remember what it was. It couldn't have been her staying the night, that was just from all the booze. I remember us changing into our Demon forms, but I still have a feeling we didn't actually fight.' Alex mused.

Mira shifted in her sleep, somehow managing to get even closer to him. 'Guess answers can wait, I got more important things to do' Alex thought before closing his eyes and getting a bit more sleep.

Alex woke up again as Mira started stirring awake, he could hear her making noises of complaint as she awoke. Thinking she might be hungover he once again marveled at how awesome {Rapid Regeneration} was. Pulling a bottle of water out of his {Inventory} he held it out to her "Good morning beautiful. Water?" he said with a smile.

Mira blinked a few times at him before her eyes widened slightly and she quickly looked around the room, though she started groaning from the headache shortly after. "Uh, yeah. Good morning. Thanks" she replied with a slightly awkward smile before taking the proffered water.

Alex chuckled lightly at her response, it was obvious from her surprise that she also wasn't quite sure how they ended up in this situation, though she didn't seem embarrassed by it. As Mira was drinking the water, Alex used a healing spell on her to clear up her hangover.

"That is so much better! I can't even remember the last time I drank so much" Mira said as she let out a sigh of relief.

"You remember much of what happened last night?" Alex asked casually as they both started climbing out of bed.

"Bits and pieces, though I do remember winning the drinking contest" She replied with a smug smile.

'Huh? That's a little odd, I would never have guessed her Alcohol tolerance was better than mine' Alex mused. "So that was the challenge eh? Damn, here I was thinking only Cana could beat me in a drinking contest" Alex laughed.

"She is the only one who could out drink you normally, but the challenge was drinking in our demon forms and we were drinking a wine gifted from the church that was infused with light magic." Mira said, still managing to sound smug about her victory.

Alex just nodded as he showed Mira to the shower and headed out to make breakfast. 'That is a very strange thing to make a contest out of, but I guess whoever put it together sure knows their stuff. It seems to have worked like a charm if it got me that fucked up.' Alex thought with a wry smile, contemplating whether or not he should get more and try it again.

Alex made breakfast for himself and Mira. Wendy and Liam had already left the house to do their own things and he could sense Carla still asleep, so it was just the 2 of them.

They made small talk over the meal and Mira told Alex that he owed her a favor of her choosing that he couldn't refuse. It was the wager that he had apparently agreed too last night. He just nodded, he didn't mind owing Mira and would probably have done anything she asked, within reason, anyway even without the favor.

Before they left the house to head to the guild hall, Alex gave Mira the music device he had forgotten to give her the day of the parade. They had both forgotten in all the chaos but Mira didn't seem upset with the delay, she even gave him a nice kiss on the cheek as a thank you before she started playing music.

They played music and made light conversation as they walked through the surprisingly dead streets of Magnolia. Even though it was well into the later hours of the morning there was very little activity throughout the city. 'Guess I may have underestimated how wild everyone got last night' Alex thought in amusement.

They made it to the guild hall to see that it was also almost completely empty, the majority of the partying happened outside the guild last night as a way to bond with the civilians and the friends everyone had made outside fairytail. The only ones in the guild were the younger members that wouldn't have been old enough to join in the drinking games.

Alex looked around for some familiar faces before he picked up, Romeo and Liam sparring out back, through his enhanced hearing. Mira had split off to talk with a group of Wizards Alex wasn't very familiar with so he headed out back to watch the 2 boys spar.

When he made it outside he observed the two young wizards having a ranged duel with massive smiles on their faces. It seemed to just be a sort of practice as neither were trying very hard. It took the boys a couple minutes to notice Alex was watching them and it brought the spar to a stop.

"Alex!" Liam yelled as he started jogging his way. "Hey. You guys just killing some time?" Alex waved casually to the two boys. "Yeah, we are waiting for Wendy to get done her personal guild-request before we head out to do a team quest" Romeo responded casually.

Alex's eyes narrowed. 'This seems a little fishy. They don't seem concerned and the fact she didn't send a message means it's probably in town but still.' Alex thought, his mind slightly racing. "Do you know what the request was about and whether Carla knows anything about it?" Alex asked Romeo, remembering Carla being at the house.

If Wendy or Carla was in danger then Carla's clairvoyance should activate to give them warning. Since this didn't seem to happen he started to calm down, Carla wouldn't willingly let Wendy go somewhere dangerous without her.

"Big sis just said it was a healing request inside the city. But now that you mention it, I don't think Carla was with her." Liam said, answering the question for Romeo. 'Big sis eh?' Alex noted internally with a chuckle.

"You know, now that you mention it I don't think I saw Carla at all today" Romeo chimed in with a thinking expression on his face.

'Hmmm, that's not like Wendy at all. Maybe I should look into this some more after all.' Alex mused before saying goodbye to the boys and heading back into the guild.

"Hey Mira. Where can I check the ongoing quests our members have taken?" Alex asked as he walked up to the bar.

"Hmmm? Usually I'm not allowed to disclose that information. What is going on?" Mira asked curiously. She would never usually entertain the idea of going against guild policy but the concern on Alex's face wasn't normal.

"Apparently Wendy is out on a job without Carla, but something doesn't feel right about it and it was a personal request. I want to make sure it's legitimate." Alex said, not hiding his thoughts.

Mira glanced around the guild hall quickly before pulling out an Orb. Placing a hand on each side of the stand she started narrating the job specifics. Everything seemed legit but Alex still had a startled look on his face when Mira looked up.

"Is something wrong?" Mira asked, starting to get worried herself.

"Sky maiden. Did it actually say 'Sky Maiden' on the quest sheet?" Alex asked instead of answering.

"Yes it did. Why would that be a bad thing?" Mira asked slowly, still confused. She didn't know where the title came from but it had a nice ring to it and oddly fit the young wind wizard.

"Wendy is in trouble! I need to find Carla!" Was Alex's only response before he bolted out the door.

Mira tried to call after him but he didn't stop. As Alex was rushing back to his house he was kicking himself for thinking the Oracion Seis would leave him alone. 'Sky Maiden' was a title given to Wendy by Grandeeney (A/N. Don't know if this is true, couldn't actually find anything about it) and wasn't even known to the members of Fairytail.

The one who figured out this title first was Brain, the leader of the Oracion Seis, when he used Archive to look for ways to cure Jellal in the Anime. Alex wanted to believe that it was a coincidence that the title was used but his instincts were telling him something bad had happened and he wasn't going to start doubting his instincts now, especially if Wendy could be in trouble.

He made it back to his house in record time and headed straight for Wendy and Carla's room. He found the little white cat sleeping in her bed, though if the cold sweat and restless shifting was any indication, she was having a nightmare.

He quickly used a healing spell on her mind as he tried waking her up. When he placed his hands on her he noticed she had almost no Mana left and she was unconscious because of mana fatigue.

'Damnit! Did she waste all her mana on purpose? Or is she sick?' Alex's thoughts raced as he used {Mana Manipulation} To force natural Mana into her body, refilling her mana storage. The healing spell had calmed down her mind and now with mana in her body again she started stirring awake.

"No Wendy! It's a trap!" She shouted as she sat up quickly. She frantically looked around before noticing Alex and started to calm down. "I thought I had my nightmares under control. Sorry if I woke you up" She said, before Alex could even ask any questions of his own.

"That's not why I'm here. I think Wendy might be in trouble and the fact that you aren't with her was even more concerning. Before I get into that, Can you tell me what your nightmare was about? They might even be related" Alex said.

When he had started talking, Carla had froze. Her mind was creating many different scenarios and she didn't like any of them. "Well.." Carla started slowly.

"This morning when she wanted to leave, I asked to sleep in. I had a later night than she did and it was early. I think I started having a vision about Wendy getting a job request that was addressed to her specifically. Something seemed off about it so I forced my magic to go further. Using my magic I was able to find out it was going to be a trap and I should have stopped right there but I wanted to see if I could get more information. The vision was so clear and I wanted to keep going. I must have overdrawn my magic reserves" Carla said sadly.

Alex glanced at her ears and noticed she wasn't wearing her earrings. 'Damn, guess that would have been too easy.' he sighed. "Well, she took that quest so we have cause for concern. It said it was in the city, but I can't sense her anywhere in the city so it is a safe bet they already left. Can you describe anything about the abductors you saw in your vision?" Alex spoke all at once, not giving Carla the chance to interrupt.

Carla had tears in her eyes as she did her best to describe the 3 wizards that were involved in the 'ambush' in her vision. 'Angel, Cobra and Racer eh?' Alex mused after she finished describing the wizards. He recognized them and now knew he was indeed going up against the Oracion Seis.

'They had better not hurt her, or I am probably going to do something I'll regret!' Alex thought angrily at the pettiness and stupidity of this attack. He wasn't quite sure if they targeted Wendy to get to him, but under the circumstances it made the most sense.

Carla begged him to take her on the Hunt with him but he flatly denied her. He said it would be too dangerous for her and things might get messy. He also needed her to stay here and make sure Liam and the guild knew what was going on. He didn't want them to get a team ready and head out unless he didn't return within a set amount of time.

He gave her a communication Lacrima and was just leaving the house when he ran into Mira. "Alex! What the hell is going on?" She asked in a concerned but demanding tone.

"The Oracion Seis have taken Wendy" he said in a far more dangerous tone than he intended.

"I am coming with you!" Mira said after Alex had explained everything he could about the situation.

"But.." Alex stated before he was cut off.

"It's final! I'm coming too!" She said with a look and tone that let Alex know she wasn't messing around.

Alex was silent for a minute before he relented. If he was being honest with himself he was happy for the company and her presence should keep him from acting out in a way that could prove to have... Fatal consequences.

HOLY CRAP!! I just realized how close I am to running out of pre-made chapters... with the warmer weather, I'm also busier than normal so I'm finding it more difficult to write. :|

Enjoy.
