THE SLEEPOVER.

SPRINGFIELD HIGH SCHOOL - FOOTBALL FIELD.

Aubree walks up to Maggie, and seat's close to her, as they waited for the soccer game to start.

"Hmmmm hey, are you okay Aubree?", Maggie said as she stared at Aubree who seems to be breathing as if she was being chased by a fierce dog.

"Huh, what do you mean, I'm fine" Aubree said as she stared at Maggie nervously.

"You sure you are okay?". Maggie asked.

"Oh yes I'm fine okay" Aubree said.

"Alright if you say so" Maggie replied, immediately after Maggie's response, Aubree's phone began to ring, it was Aubree's mum calling.

(Aubree on a phone call with her mother).

"Hello mum, is everything okay?". Aubree asked.

"Oh yes everything is okay, I just wanted to let you know that I won't be around when you come back home".

"What why?".

"Why won't you be at home when I get back from school, is everything okay?, Is dad alright?". Aubree asked, anxiously as she stared at Maggie, while answering the call.

" your dad is alright, tho he also won't be at home today, his on a night shift at the hospital today".

"Okay then, why won't you be home when I get back from school?".

"It's your grandpa, your grandma called me up this morning, and told me your grandpa had a heart attack, and your grandma wants me to come over, to see them, that's why I won't be at home today".

"Oh, is he alright now?". Aubree asked.

"I don't know yet, I have no idea how serious his condition is, on till I see him, then I can give you a suitable response on how his doing". Mrs Scarlette said.

"Alright, just keep me updated" Aubree said.

"I'm so sorry, you have to stay alone today at home, maybe you could ask your cousin Maggie to come have a sleepover at your place, so she could keep you company for today, besides your dad will be back home early tomorrow morning, by 6Am, dear". Mrs Scarlette said.

"Alright sure, I would ask her". Aubree said.

"That's nice, alright bye sweetheart, I will keep you updated alright". Mrs Scarlette said.

"Alright thanks, take care of yourself mum".

"Sure I will". Mrs Scarlette said.

"Alright" Aubree responded as she ended the call.

Immediately after ending the call Maggie mutters "is she okay" to Aubree.

"What who?" Aubree said as she stared at Maggie.

"I meant your mum, is she okay?". Maggie asked.

"Oh yes, she is, she's okay". Aubree responded.

"Umm, do you wanna hangout with me tonight". Aubree said as she stared at Maggie, while putting on an anxious face.

"Huh, where?" Maggie asked.

(A voice was heard from the field, "yes the game is about to begin, wow!!!).

"At my place today". Aubree said.

"Okay, hmmmm" Maggie said, keeping her face in a way that shows she was thinking about what response to give to Aubree.

"Okay please Maggie can we have a sleepover at my place today, my parents won't be around, so I kinda need company, don't wanna stay alone at that house today". Aubree said as she stared at Maggie curiously.

"Oh alright, sure" Maggie said.

"Thanks" Aubree said as she stared at Maggie, while smiling happily.

"Yes the game has started Aubree". Maggie said as they both watched the soccer game.

"Oh my I think our school's team, won the game" Aubree said as she stared at the players on the field.

"Yes your right, we won, gosh we won" Maggie said as she stood up from her seat, shouting out loud, "we won".

AUBREE'S HOUSE. (A conversation in Aubree's room).

It's 8pm in the night, Aubree and Maggie are having a conversation in the room.

"Okay, start fresh, tell me what happened exactly between you and Casey at the biology lab". Maggie said, looking so thrilled as she stared at Aubree.

"Look nothing happened, he just bumped into me unintentionally, and then tried to help me up on my feet, when I fell to the floor, and then our eyes meet, actually I was terrified, I thought he was going to kiss me, I mean the way he looked at me, felt so intimate, I'm just glad nothing happened between us ". Aubree said as she stared at Maggie, while they sat on the bed.

"Hmmmm, are you sure you are glad nothing happened between you two, cause the vibes I'm getting from you right now, makes me wanna think, you wanted a kiss from him girl". Maggie said as she leaned on the bed.

"Really" Aubree said, while hitting Maggie with a pillow beside her on the bed.

"Okay stop, stop, hitting me with the pillow, I'm sorry if what I said offended you, I'm just trying to be honest with you, I mean the vibes I'm getting from you, right now means you are either interested in him, and you wanted that kiss". Maggie said, and immediately drew close the bedsheets to herself and mutters "good night to Aubree".

"Whatever, goodnight". Aubree said as she goes to bed.

It's 6am in the morning, Aubree wakes up, due to the sound of her alarm clock. She immediately stands up from the bed, and quickly checked her phone, to know if her mum had left her any message about her grandparents, and also how her journey went, but to her surprise, her mum didn't send her any message. She tried to call her mum, but her mum's phone was switched off, so she tried dialling her father's number, in other to call him, and know when his coming home and if her mum had called him, but before she could place the call, she heard a knock at the door of her house.

Maggie who seemed to be so deep in sleep immediately woke up at the sound of the knock at the door.

"Who could that be by this time..." Maggie said as she rolled around the bed, in a sleepy state.

"It's my dad, it should be him" Aubree said as she walked out of her room.

"Oh Mr Walter is back, what's the time" Maggie said as she reached out for her phone, on the desk near the bed where she kept it.

"Oh my its 5minitues past six, I need to get dressed for school.

AUBREE AT THE DOOR.

"Oh dad welcome back, good morning" Aubree said as she opens the door, and immediately went to help her dad, carry his black Duffle bag.

"Thanks dear, good morning" Mr Walter responded as he walks straight to his room, with Aubree. Immediately reaching the door of his room he takes his bag from Aubree and then asked her to get him a glass of water.

"Is it just water you need dad?, There's also food in the house, if you want I can get you something to eat". Aubree said as she stared at her dad.

"No, for now I just need water, when I'm hungry, I will get something to eat myself, you also need to get ready for school you know, so just get me the water and go get dressed up for school, I will take you to school".

"Alright dad, thanks" Aubree said, while smiling at her dad.

"But has mum called you yet?". Aubree asked.

"Oh no, not yet dear, I tried calling her, but her phone, is switched off, but don't bother yourself much about your mum, she would be fine, she might just have a low battery, I'm sure she would call us soon". Mr Walter said.

"Alright, by the way, my cousin Maggie is here, at home with me". Aubree said.

"Oh alright, you both get dressed quickly, so I take you both to school, but first get me the glass of water okay" Mr Walter said.

"Yeah sure, thanks dad". Aubree's said as she walks away.
