Unexpected meeting

"Shen! It's good to see you! Oh, and Ye Chuyun, was it?" Qin Wuyou greeted Shen quite enthusiastically once he arrived together with Ye Chuyun.

Ye Chuyun deeply bowed to Qin while Shen only lightly bowed out of politeness even though he knew that Qin doesn't care much about etiquette as long as one behaves politely enough.

"Greetings palace chief, have you called for me?" Shen asked with a faint smile however after a few seconds, Qin's face completely changed when he sensed Shen's strength.

"W-What happened to you Shen?! How come you are already the 1st layer of True Profound Realm when just recently you weren't even at the peak of Nascent profound realm?!" Qin was trying his best to keep his composure but he was slowly losing it.

"I take it that palace chief has already backstory of me and Chuyun. When we have met by a chance in the city, she returned to me something that my late teacher gave her upon parting our ways back then. If the palace chief is intrigued, it was just a simple book consisting of some secrets about my bloodline profound movement skill, as for why my teacher has given it to Chuyun and not me...I guess he wanted us to reunite in the future. He has always worked in mysterious ways" Shen explained with a delighted smile, occasionally glancing at Chuyun.

Chuyun who was listening to all of this could only try her best to hide her surprised face. She would have never guessed that Shen is a simple disciple from New Moon Profound Palace and definitely not that he acted on his own, going as far as to lie to the palace chief.

A thought of revealing Shen's lies appeared in her mind as an option however she was somehow feeling reluctant to reveal it.

'Is it because of what he told me back then? Who would even want to have a bad luck charm? He is ruthless, cold-hearted, sadistic, and all but he also accepted me without a second thought.' Chuyun thought and only revealed a faint smile to back up Shen's words which caused him to grin inwardly.

'The first phrase has been cleared. Now that she didn't use this chance, it will only be more unlikely for her to run her mouth. To be honest, I even feel slightly disappointed, it would be nice to see Qin's reaction, haha'

"I see...Your bloodline must be truly mysterious if it allows you to directly jump the stage. While Shen was taking a walk outside with Chuyun slightly behind him, he heard a familiar voice and once he turned towards it, he was surprised to see a familiar face.

"Xia Yuanba?" Shen called out to one of the two young men with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh! Hi!" Two of them stopped walking and Yuanba greeted Shen with a cheery smile as if it wasn't weird for them to meet here.

"What are you doing here?"

"W-What? I have been here the entire time! I never approached you because you were always the center of attention! I didn't want to bother you." Xia Yuanba explained with an almost pained expression as if Shen's question hurt his feelings.

"I see...Hi, nice to meet you again or something, hehe" Shen greeted him as if nothing awkward ever happened.

"...Oh! Let me introduce to you my brother-in-law, Xiao Che" Yuanba introduced the person next to him.

'Xiao? Hee?' Shen thought he might as well befriend the person with the same surname as the outer sect he just recently massacred.

"It's Yun Che now, Yuanba. Anyway, it's nice to meet the senior, I have heard a few things about the senior from Yuanba." The young man nodded his head with a polite smile.

"Likewise, no need to be polite with me, I don't care about formalities. You must be quite happy to have such a beautiful wife, I have met her back at Floating Cloud City and I must say I almost feel jealous, haha" Shen said with a little hint of contempt at the mention of his wife, Yuanba's sister.

'What was that? I would expect him to show contempt towards me but it looked like he showed it towards Qingyue...What's going on?' Yun Che thought while he was thanking Shen for his kind words.
