"Oh, it's Barbara, coming in fast," the observant Catwoman was the first to notice the newcomer.
Indeed, dressed in a black cape with yellow gloves and boots, Batgirl dashed towards them like a gust of wind.
"Robin, are you okay?" Barbara ignored the two women who were watching from the sidelines, seeing Robin standing by the lake, hands on his hips, panting. She thought he might be injured.
In reality, Robin was just catching his breath after exerting himself too much while shouting hard earlier. Unlike Killer Croc, who stood at two meters tall and weighed over five hundred pounds, Robin was just an ordinary guy. Shouting like a human megaphone for five minutes was indeed exhausting.
Seeing him not responding, Barbara thought his injuries might be severe. She cast a reproachful glance at the two straight-faced women standing beside her, "You two are too much!" Tossing aside her motorcycle, she ran towards Robin.
Huh? How is this our fault? Thea felt this person was always assuming things and measuring everything with her own thoughts.
Seeing her rushing to Robin's aid, Thea and Catwoman shared a teasing glance, both wearing expressions of anticipation.
"Hey." Barbara ran really fast. It seemed she and Robin had a deep relationship. However, when she got within two meters, she realized something was off. Robin's attire was covered in white and green stains, making his usually serious battle suit look like something a scavenger would wear. And there was a strong, nauseating odor emanating from him. Having been pampered since childhood, she had never smelled anything so disgusting and quickly gestured for Robin to stop.
In fact, Robin hadn't stepped forward, but had instead taken a few steps back. He was no fool. He had already noticed something was off with his attire by the lake. If he were to give his girlfriend a loving hug with this mess on, there would be only two possible outcomes: either Barbara couldn't psychologically handle it and turned evil, or or he got punched into oblivion. There was no question of breaking up here. It was a matter of life and death; whether they split up or not made no difference.
Seeing her boyfriend not rushing towards her, Barbara breathed a sigh of relief and carefully examined his stained attire. The more she looked, the more disgusted she felt, stepping back continuously.
When she retreated to a distance where she couldn't smell the stench, she found herself standing next to the two heroines. She said indignantly, "You knew earlier? Are you happy now? Laugh if you want to."
Thea chuckled, fully displaying the simple and optimistic spirit of Starling City's people. Since Barbara agreed that she could laugh, then she would laugh. Seeing the two of them was like watching a stage play. It was really funny! If they could recite a few lines from Romeo and Juliet, it would be even better.
Catwoman couldn't be as carefree as her. She still had to continue working in this team, so she suppressed her laughter and changed the subject, "What do we do next?"
Indeed, what do they do next? All five members of the team were present. Though there were no cameras around, Thea noticed a drone hovering above their heads. Felicity had automatically taken her position as the mascot, cheering them on.
But all four of them were all agility focused. Against this tough-skinned, tanky boss, their team composition was terrible. Moreover, two of them weren't even equipped. What's the point of fighting this? They should retreat immediately!
Barbara, unaware of Thea's thoughts, politely asked, "Miss Thea, do you have any suggestions?"
"No suggestions," Thea had only recently arrived in Gotham, and even the creature's name was told to her by Catwoman. When she thought of Catwoman, she naturally remembered the initial issue. "How did you guys catch this guy before?"
How did you catch him before? Faced with Thea's question, Barbara immediately expressed that although she looked mature, she was still a child at heart and genuinely didn't know about past events. For details, please ask the lady next to her, who was in her thirties.
Catwoman thought for a moment, not recalling anything about this creature. Perhaps she was too busy with her own business at the time, like robbing the rich to help the poor? She only knew that she hadn't been involved in his capture; if she had encountered him before, she would surely remember.
Seeing both of them shaking their heads, Thea knew things were bad. Fortunately, there was still someone here who might have information. She said to Barbara, "Call Robin over, let's ask him."
Actually, they weren't far from each other, and shouting would have been fine, but Thea was afraid that if there were any secrets, not only would her companions hear them, but so would Killer Croc in the lake. It would be embarrassing to discuss tactics in front of the boss, right? So, it was best to call Robin over and ask him quietly.
Barbara waved her hand to summon Robin, who was still daydreaming by the lake.
"What's up?" Robin walked over, but when he got within two meters of the group, all three women raised a hand to signal him to stop, so he had no choice but to stop in his tracks.
Barbara repeated the question, to which Robin replied, "I don't know either. Do none of you know?" Robin was puzzled. If he had known, would he have ended up in such a sorry state? Whether Barbara would let him into the house tonight was unknown. Did they think he was sick, or that he enjoyed looking like this?
The group was a bit at a loss, looking at each other. Was it only Batman who knew? Did he sneakily take down the boss without anyone noticing? But where is he now? Does Alfred know? Does Commissioner Gordon know?
Thea was thoroughly impressed by their team. Look at Batman, he records everyone's abilities and weaknesses in his little black book, whether they are enemies or allies. But you guys, you don't even keep a record of who you've fought against.
Finally, the three members of the Bat-Family all looked at Thea at the same time, meaning they wanted to ask if this colleague from Starling City had any ideas.
Of course, Thea had an idea. Her principle was always to be prepared in advance. Just now, she had thought that the most suitable way to deal with this stinky and strong guy was to use freezing arrows. She could shoot from a distance, and if one arrow didn't work, she would shoot another!
The problem was that she didn't have many arrows prepared, and they were expensive to make. She had only prepared five freezing arrows, originally intended to deal with Bane. That guy had a big head and a thick neck, arms like tree trunks, and could run like a horse and stand a person on his fist. Perhaps his only weakness might be his comparatively slow speed. If she could limit his already limited speed and then attack from a distance, he would go down no matter how strong he was.
But that was a matter for the future. For now, they needed to deal with the current situation. Thea nodded, "I have a plan, but I need to go back and get my equipment. You guys hold him off, and I'll be back soon." With that, she approached the motorcycle that Barbara had ridden there and gracefully mounted it, ready to drive off.
