Chapter 139: Clone

[Anthony's P.O.V.]

"Admit it, succubus, did you indulge in debauchery?!"

As soon as I entered Shinoa's office, I heard her familiar voice and saw the speaker on a floating screen in front of half-naked Rias.

"A livestream?"

I raised an eyebrow.

"Administrator-kun, you scoundrel... We're here without your touch, and you're off sleeping with the devil... well done."

I saw Shinoa smiling with a thumbs-up.

"N-nothing like that..."

"Don't lie because I saw myself in you when that insatiable beast violated my body. I beamed with joy just like you... but only I had trouble walking. However, you're a succubus, and maybe your physiology adapted quickly."

"How are things there?"

I asked while hugging Rias from behind.

"I'll be back soon, and hold yourself together..."

Metropolis

"The terrorist group "White Triad" has struck again. This time in Dubai."

Cortana announced it aloud.

"Is my cousin already there?"

Kara spends a lot of time with Cortana, Lena, or Shinoa... as well as with Diana who is currently patrolling the city.

She's been called "Wonder Woman" for her efforts, and Kara is called Supergirl.

"No... now he is."

Cortana nodded when observing Superman through surveillance cameras and registering his presence via satellite.

"Well, if he's there, he can handle it."

Kara shrugged.

"Hmm."

Cortana frowned for a moment.

"Something strange... the military used a protocol that hasn't been detected before. "The Machine.""

"And? They've constantly been trying to catch Clark. Or rather, they haven't tried lately when probably realizing it's pointless."

Kara shrugged again.

"The protocol involves the name Amanda Waller, who was recently promoted and given the green light to reorganize her division. Task Force X no longer officially exists, replaced by A.R.G.U.S. or the Advanced Research Group Uniting Super-Humans."

"Advanced Research Group Uniting Superhumans? That's a long name. So, a lot of powerful people are involved?"

"Amanda is a very secretive woman who takes the security of her operation seriously. She has many layers of protection."

Cortana paused for a second.

"I was able to find most of the information about this organization. After all, this level of protection is nothing for me, but accessing secure servers that aren't connected to the main network is physically impossible for me. And yes, there are meta-humans involved."

Cortana confirmed it with a nod.

"And A.R.G.U.S. is involved in this incident, right?"

Kara understood.

"Most likely. I'll pull up the camera feed."

The T.V. mounted on the wall displayed the current situation.

There are terrorists who capture the whole building and start shouting upon seeing Superman while threatening civilians.

Clark backed off, and a flying robot in a cheaper version attacked him.

Clark was able to punch it away easily enough to completely destroy the robot, but then another dozen similar flying robots attacked him.

A laser shot flew out of a building window, hitting him directly in the face.

The laser was fired from a turret positioned by a terrorist.

"Where did they get this equipment?"

Clark wondered while using his heat vision to destroy the terrorist's weapon and the remaining robots.

"G-god..."

The terrorist stammered while looking at Superman with fear as if he were the devil, and fell to his knees.

"The building is full of explosives."

Superman heard a voice in his ear... He could have heard it from Metropolis if he had focused on it, but he didn't need to.

"Kara is on her way to assist you."

"Full of explosives?"

Clark asked in a serious tone, using his X-ray vision to scan the building at super speed. He found the explosives in the building's foundation.

"Found it."

"Just don't try to simply pull them off the wall."

He heard it before he could reach for the explosives.

"You're quick."

He looked at Supergirl.

"Cortana says there's a sensor and..."

The bombs suddenly exploded, engulfing them in heat.

These two just frowned, but ordinary people would have been killed immediately even though some terrorists did burn.

"This was planned. It's still unclear why and what Ascension is trying to achieve."

Cortana explained.

They sprang into action.

After quickly assessing the damage to the building, Superman realized it wouldn't collapse immediately, but he froze to create more support just in case.

"We need to evacuate the people."

Superman said, and he and Supergirl started carrying civilians out at lightning speed.

The terrorists were removed with less "gentleness" and piled up outside.

In less than a minute, all the civilians were out as well as the terrorists who realized they were in deep trouble.

"You're monsters! All of you!"

One of them pointed at Kara and Clark.

"Aliens, outsiders! Go back to where you came from!"

"What? We're protecting Earth, and a terrorist calling someone a monster is ridiculous."

Kara huffed, more affected by the words than she let on.

"Where did you get such weapons?"

Superman asked while looking over them like a god over mortals, but no one answered.

"Why is it always so complicated..."

"We could call Zatanna. She can loosen their tongues."

Kara suggested, but the next second she and Superman turned their heads in a specific direction.

A large figure was flying towards them at high speed and landed nearby.

The people around them gasped and shivered in fear.

"The devil!"

They exclaimed.

The three-meter-tall figure of a muscular being with glowing red eyes and what seemed like pulsating red energy in its chest inspired awe.

Its skin had a grayish-blue hue reminiscent of stone.

"Who are you, and what brings you here?"

Clark asked seriously, watching the newcomer.

"You. Come with me. This is a direct order from your government Superman. I admire what you do, saving everyone... but an order is an order."

"What? How do they have... something like this?"

Kara muttered in confusion.

"You have no choice, Superman."

He took a step forward.

"You've been watched for a long time, and now it's time to bring you to justice."

"You work for the government?"

Superman raised an eyebrow in surprise… and took a powerful punch to the face.

The force sent him flying while crashing through the building he had just evacuated.

He continued his flight, eventually slamming into the Great Wall of China in another country.

Meanwhile, Supergirl tried to strike him at super speed, but he surprised her by matching their speed, blocking her punch, and kicking her, sending her soaring into the sky, piercing through the clouds.

"The order was only for Superman."

He said this while jumping towards where Superman had flown.

Clark hit him with a fist in the air to send him to where Kara was waiting and gave him a powerful blow that wiped out all the clouds within fifty kilometers.

At the same time, Cortana was analyzing the data obtained from the satellite on this new enemy.

Tony had long been preparing for various extraterrestrial threats and had developed different strategies to counter them.

The satellite was not just a satellite but also a magical artifact capable of gathering much more data.

She was now studying this being while trying to find weaknesses.

The enemy's physiology somewhat resembled Kryptonian as it absorbed solar energy, but it did so even faster than Clark, making it stronger and faster.

Cortana was not surprised by the appearance of someone similar to Superman as Tony had always told her the world was full of hidden dangers.

This was just one of them.

After just fifteen seconds, it was clear that Clark and Kara only held their own because he was physically stronger.

However, he didn't seem skilled in fighting, and he was just using his brute strength rather than skills that allowed them to hold their ground against him.

"It's time to execute one of the plans."

"Don't resist, Superman. Don't cause more destruction. By doing so, you're only proving how dangerous you are."

The three-meter giant stopped their punch, causing a powerful shockwave with nearby trees and sending them flying.

"The one causing destruction is you attempting to capture me."

Clark replied, attacking him again. But he didn't dodge this time and countered with a punch.

The new shockwave created a hundred-meter crater in the forest.

Superman's eyes glowed, and two red lasers shot towards his face.

"Ahh, I said enough."

He shielded himself with his hand and roared at Clark.

At that moment, a sonic attack burst from his throat while shattering the stone behind Kent, and Clark grabbed his ears, falling to one knee in pain.

In the next moment, the enemy's fists crackled with red energy, and he uppercut Clark, then grabbed him by the leg and slammed him into the ground.

"Enough of this."

He picked Clark up and was about to leap when laser beams hit him from above again.

"Let him go!"

Kara roared, trying to strike him.

"I've had enough."

He caught Kara, and he headbutted her, but this distracted him from Clark... who punched him in the torso.

An enraged Superman caught up with the flying enemy in an instant while landing punch after punch not noticing they were almost in space.

"That was... painful."

He wiped the blood from his lip and then slapped Superman away.

Superman caught him again at incredible speed. He and Kara then started shooting laser beams at his chest.

He took the hit with his arms crossed and fell to the ground near Gotham, causing much damage just a few kilometers from the city.

"You still don't understand... I know about you, Superman, and about Kryptonians, and I know your weakness."

A small spike emerged from his shoulders while glowing green.

At that moment, a golden lasso flew around him, tightening with great force and pinning his arms to his body.

Wonder Woman appeared to pull the lasso with all her strength, and her eyes filled with determination.

"You will not harm my friends or this planet any longer."

Diana declared with her voice unwavering.

Kara landed beside her, ready to assist.

He struggled against the lasso, but the combined strength of Superman, Supergirl, and Wonder Woman was overwhelming.

They managed to subdue the creature with a final effort to bind him completely.

"What... what is this?"

He growled while trying to break free, but the lasso's magical properties held firm.

"It's over."

Clark said this while breathing heavily.

"You're coming with us."

"The villain is caught. I thought there would be more of a fight."

Night Huntress said while holding her scythe.

"You can't hold me."

He struck the ground with his feet, causing an earthquake.

He tried to fly away and thought he could escape, but the lasso slammed him into the ground with immense force that formed even larger cracks.

"You're not going anywhere until we decide what to do with you. You attacked Superman and interfered with him and Kara saving lives, but fortunately, they minimized the risks. It doesn't matter who sent you. The gods are watching us."

 Wonder Woman said while looking sternly at him.

"Your gods have no power over me."

He scoffed.

"You can call me Ghost. I didn't think anyone could catch me."

He smirked.

"However, this doesn't change my mission… since you're all together, this is valuable information for the government."

"I don't think you have the..."

Ghost suddenly grabbed the lasso and yanked Diana towards him, intending to punch her in the face.

She skillfully flipped in the air while pulling out her shield to take the blow, then drove her sword into his shoulder.

"Urr... ah"

He looked at the wound in disbelief.

He was totally bound and silenced when glowing hieroglyphs and ropes appeared around him.

Superman, Supergirl, and Night Huntress watched as the magical symbols tightened around Ghost to ensure he couldn't break free.

"It seems he underestimated us."

Clark said, his eyes still glowing slightly from the battle's intensity.

"He underestimated a lot of things."

Kara added, glancing at Diana, who was securing the last of the magical bindings.

"This is far from over,"

Diana said while tightening the lasso one final time.

"We need to find out who sent him and why. If the government is involved, this could be much bigger than we thought."

Shinoa nodded, her eyes sharp and focused.

"We should take him somewhere secure and start interrogating him. We need to know if there's a bigger threat."

They remained vigilant. as they got ready to move Ghost.

The fight had revealed a new enemy and potential conspiracy, but they were ready to face whatever came next, united and stronger.
