『Homewrecker completed | 8,000 EXP, +60 Favorability Task-Force X, New Talent Card』
"Well done on the mission Shannon. A shot from that far has only been done by a small amount of people." Amanda said, "Here's your next case."
Without wasting any time, she handed me a packet.
After she finished talking, a notification popped up showing the mission.
___
You have found a C Ranked Mission:
『Little Princess』[Y/N]
Note: The missing 12 year-old daughter of the President has been confirmed in Iran. Due to political reasons, the usual military teams cannot be deployed in time to save the girl. As one of the most capable and disposable units in the government, Amanda B. Waller wants to send you to get the girl.
Mission Requirement: Bring back Chloe Benedict
Mission Equipment: SUV Dragunov w/ Russian PSO-1 Optics, Colt 1911
Reward: 10,000 EXP, +10 Potential Points
Bonus Reward: Genetic Unleashing Solution or 40,000 EXP
Punishment: Disavowed
Mission Progress: 0%
___
I took a deep inhale. This was the first time I was doing anything bodyguard related. Everyone knows that being a bodyguard is a hundred times more difficult than being a killer!
"When do I start?" I asked after seeing the rank of the mission. I've already completed a few C rank missions. Although they were difficult, it was definitely in my ability to complete them. Especially after using the rewards from the [Homewrecker] mission.
"You'll be in a plane in twenty minutes. I assume you'll be ready by then?" She asked.
I nodded. The roulet only took a few seconds and the new talent would be integrated pretty quickly. Not that she knew of that. She probably thought I needed to use the bathroom or something.
"I'll get going." I said as I walked out of the mission briefing room and into the bathroom.
『Spinning Talent Wheel | Congratulations on receiving Piercing-Blow[A] 』
An A ranked Talent? Let's go!
One must know that receiving anything higher than a D rank was a rarity. In fact, only one-tenth of the talents in the shop were higher than D rank. So no matter what, an A rank couldn't be trash.
Piercing-Blow: The first hit to the target will cause an enormous amount of physiological pain. There is no change in damage.
I was astonished. This was amazing! It complimented my S class talent to the max. It is never guaranteed that I hit the mark every time. But if I could shock the target for long enough, it would let me kill them.
With this talent in my arsenal, I could finally feel at peace. But I wasn't done yet. I still had three Skill Cards to use.
___
『Spinning Skill Wheel | Congratulations on receiving Call of the Wild[C], Steal[E], and Giant's Power[B]』
Call of the Wild[C]: Increases affinity to wildlife when used | 1 Hours : 5 Days
Steal[E]: Increases the chances of a successful steal | 30 Minutes : 10 Minutes
Giant's Power[B]: Grants 50 additional STR, END | 5 Minutes : 10 Days
___
Basically, skills from the system have cooldown times. Generally, the worse the rating, the lesser the cooldown time. But the variables also consider how much time the skill is active.
For example, the Call of the Wild works for 1 hour and needs a 5 day recharge. Steal, a considerable lower rated card, only needs 10 minutes to recharge. Giant's Power lasts for 5 Minutes, but needs a recharge for 10 day.
And so I was set! Well as set as I could be going into Iran with no backup, no diplomatic immunity, and no good equipment. It was a suicide mission. Something that suited my status very well.
Suddenly the collar that felt cold on my throat felt like it changed. As if it was now an actual danger.
I needed to get out of here.
…
If everything went as planned, then my position perpendicular to the moving targets would give me enough time and space to deal with the "expected" company.
I looked onto the rocky terrain as I rehearsed the mission countless times in my head. I did all the preparing I could to make it go as smoothly as possible. Literally and metaphorically.
I filled in the larger pot holes on the ground enough to not interfere with my shot but enough so they had to slow down. Recited my prayers to the God of War Ghandi. Repented for my sins and browser history. Everything that I could to feel confident in the mission.
The equipment for the mission was an old-Russian sniper rifle, an old Colt 1911, and some MREs.

___
[Q, the Jackal is inroute now] The radio on my side sprung to life.
Q was me and Jackal was the codename for the Daughter.
If things go well, a caravan consisting of three SUVs would roll into the valley in about 5 minutes. The first SUV and last SUV would carry gunmen. The middle was where the boss would be with the Jackal. I would allow them to cross the bridge and give them enough distance to clear away from any cover.
They would be in a wide-open death zone. I would shoot the lead driver, then the driver of the second SUV then the third effectively crippling their maneuverability.
Even if I miss, they would be around 182 meters giving me enough time to adjust my aim and fire. The first three shots would be key. After that, they would be in my Kill Zone. What they would do after the drivers are dead was questionable. But as long as I could kill everyone before they could harm the daughter, I would be fine.
There should be a total of 11 people dead after the end of everything. At least, that's what the intel said. But as I said before, Murphy's Law held sway no matter the weather. So the targets holding a sniper-rifle was pretty much to be expected.
And since it isn't a contract hit, I had to be conscious of what the enemy might do to the president's daughter. Bodyguard duty always sucked in games.
Plus a man with bullets hailing upon him, is viable to do anything at any time. Most of the time that works in my favor, but this time, I couldn't be so sure.
Right on time, a caravan of three SUVs drove close together. As intended they slowed down considerably to pass the bridge. I trained my sight on the lead driver as they distanced themselves from environmental cover.
I held my breath as I squeezed the trigger.
『You have dealt cataclysmic damage to Aluri-Moni | -360』
『You have killed Aluri-Moni | 200 EXP』
The bullet whizzed through the air and exploded the lead driver's head like a watermelon. He slumped down onto the lap of the passenger and I was already adjusting for the second shot.
-Bam
『You have dealt cataclysmic damage to Mari Lusionet | -360』
『You have killed Aluri-Moni | 200 EXP』
The bullet rolled out of the barrel and into the driver's chest. The person hunched back as the bullet went through and struck a passenger in the shoulder.
『Your bullet grazed Chloe Benedict | -10』
But I couldn't worry about that. I had to clear the last vehicle before I could worry about the daughter.
『You have dealt cataclysmic damage to Baki Pourisi | -360』
『You have killed Baki Pourisi| 200 EXP』
The last driver was in the midst of reacting to the sudden swerves of the other SUVs before a bullet to his scrotum knocked him back. And just like that all the vehicles were dealt with.
Next was to deal with the threats from the middle vehicle.
All the dust kicked up from the first barrage of bullets made it difficult to pinpoint who I was going to shoot. But it was clear to see who was a girl and who was not. So I pressed the trigger with extreme prejudice.
『You have dealt damage to Harli Lusionet | -42.5』
Shit. I missed the Lethal areas!
Truth be told, the [S] grade talent that I received was a life changer. But I couldn't afford to miss because of the little damage the bullets end up doing.
I looked at Harli Lusionet's health bar. I had around 4 bullets left in the round.
『Harli Lusionet The Savage: 612.5| 655』
Shit! He's got a title. That explains the monstrous amount of health.
『Harli Lusionet Entered a State of Rage, his brother died infront of him| +40 STR, END : 40 Minutes』
Now he's a different type of beast. It would be better to deal with him after the rest. So I adjust the aim to the person next to him and take a shot at his abdomen. I've learned that a shot to the chest usually guarantees a Cataclysmic response. That's because of the tumbling effect bullets had when entering the body.
『You have dealt cataclysmic damage to Deri Luioni | -360』
『You have killed Deri Luioni | 200 EXP』
And then I quickly moved to the next one and squeezed the trigger. The more death the more chaos. The more chaos the less rational thinking. Less rational thinking is very good to me most of the time.
『You have dealt cataclysmic damage to Bouri Luioni | -360』
『You have killed Bouri Luioni | 200 EXP』
That's around half of them dead. That somewhat relieves the pressure. In less than 7 seconds, the vehicles were disabled and half of their fighting potential was gone. I knew I was good but damn.
The last few rounds I emptied on the titled individual.
『You have dealt damage to Harli Lusionet | -36.5』
『You have dealt damage to Harli Lusionet | -340』
『You have dealt damage to Harli Lusionet | -39.5』
I looked at the health of the seemingly unkillable man. Even after all the bullets he still had higher health than any of the men around him.
『Harli Lusionet The Savage: 196.5 | 655』
By the time I was done reloading, the able men were already reacting. They fired wildy at where they thought I was, a textbook location for sniping. It was quite a few distance from where I sat perched on a rockbed at the same elevation level as them.
I didn't choose the high ground. I knew that that was where they were going to fire the moment they could find themselves reacting.
So as the remaining 6 targets were slamming Ak rounds into the base of the mountain, I steadied the Dragunov and shot the man closest to Chloe.
『You have dealt cataclysmic damage to Cerlo Hurina | -360』
『You have killed Cerlo Hurina | 200 EXP』
By this time they were all taking cover behind the car after they determined it was just one shooter. But luckily for me, the ammo I took was able to pierce through any part of the car besides the engine block. And the positioning I took allowed me to shoot under it if need be.
『You have dealt cataclysmic damage to Arile-Bourbo | -360』
『You have killed Arile-Buorbo | 200 EXP』
And so there were six.
『You have dealt cataclysmic damage to Siavash Khodayar | -360』
『You have killed Siavash Khodayar | 200 EXP』
And so there were five.
『You have dealt cataclysmic damage to Artan Siroosi | -360』
『You have killed Artan Siroosi | 200 EXP』
『You have dealt cataclysmic damage to Radbod Bhaisa | -360』
『You have killed Radbod Bhaisa | 200 EXP』
And so there were two. The Savage and the Princess.
The Savage grabbed the princess' head and attempted to use her as a hostage. But if you're like me, we don't negotiate with terrorists and we certainly don't negotiate with their hostages.
So I shot a round into the Savage's head.
『You have dealt damage to Harli Lusionet | -320』
『You have killed Harli Lusionet | 2000 EXP』
I looked at the princess and she was crying hysterically. She was kinda ugly too when she cried. She was an ugly crier. Totally not how I imagined saving a princess. But technically she isn't a princess so my hopes of saving a princess and getting a kiss could still be redeemed.
