Prologue

In the beginning, beings and beasts were no different. Their instincts were their compass and survival was their livelihood. Dawn signified safety and hope for another day while night posed the dangers of the unknown. The innate need to live to see another day overrode frivolous needs that would later be prominent further down the evolution path. But this state did not last. Both beings and beasts found themselves cornered by a great evil. The threat had manifested itself within the folds of the earth. It came in the greatest form of the Unknown.

The Unknown comprised of several strange creatures with humanoid features and claws. They could traverse the different areas of the world within seconds. They could smell their prey from many Kilometers away and could even sense their power allowing them to gauge the resistance they would face before dealing the killing blows to them. And yet, this was only the beginning.

The Unknown brought the natives to their knees. With the danger of death and even extinction eminent, various beasts and beings tried to escape. They tried everything including attacking the Unknown objects looming across the sky like the manifestation of death. The various races within the earth tried to escape only to be eradicated by the floods caused by the rain, or the crushing gravity displacing every tree, beast and being. The remaining wondering creatures were killed or captured as prey for the population of the Unknown.

The events of the arrival of far more evolved beings triggered an exponential need within the natives to develop in an attempt to defend themselves from the physically superior visitors. They arrived with the threat of billions of years of advancement and evolution.

On the fateful day of the appearance of the Unknown, as the natives had yet to develop a common language, the gravitational forces of Mother Earth shifted to accommodate their mighty fortresses that would teleport within the atmosphere, displacing the semblance of society that had been establish. The Chaos that developed within this shift caused the death of millions of the inhabitants of the innocent earth.

This marked the Arakening, a word coined by natives of the Pure Elks also known as the Elkin. This symbolized the awakening of the mighty forces of the new inhabitants of earth. The Elkin community had managed to develop a semblance of language and trade allowing communication and mutual order and communism which managed to be the saving grace. With the Elders of the community facing new problems, new solutions were required and an opportunity presented itself.

The Elkin dug the earth below their homes using their strong horns and chanced upon strange fissures which turned out to be the pathways to their chance and doom. With the Unknown's imminent doom facing them, the chance for survival was barely thought out. The Elkren (Elkin elders) ordered them to stand down, but the beasts decided to risk going through the next step. This strange phenomenon was indeed strange but in the face of death, their instincts screamed for them to run. Without any more to loose, they dove within the fissures.
