Side story : a day at the city

Sarah and Dastan skipped along the riverside while Blackheart sat down smiling at them. It was rare for the duo to show their childish side. He thoroughly enjoyed it.

Despite visiting several facilities like the blacksmith street, apothecary hall ( an informal hospital ), circus, food street etc., they were still energetic enough to play around THESE CHILDREN.... thought the old man as he gave a bitter smile.

" Don't play around too much, we still need to visit the old geezer tomorrow in the morning AND MAKE HIM ACCEPT YOU BOTH AS HIS DISCIPLES, " instructed Blackheart.

" Yes master, 😂 dastan, don't throw water on me, you... just wait, I'll drench you wet 😂 " the children didn't pay even an ounce of attention while simply fooling around in the river. It wasn't that they were not paying attention to their master or surroundings, but it was clearly disguised within their seemingly innocent and sweet playing in the water like ordinary children.

What was weird was their interests, Sarah was extremely interested in blacksmithy while Dastan was in cooking and eating. Despite being untrained, he still was so perfect in evaluating food that he might easily pose off as a professional gourmet. But that wasn't the end at all. The duo were excited in the beginning to see different beasts executing feats in the circus but their entire attention shifted almost immediately towards guessing the beast's name and characteristics or the next beast to be staged. The accurate word to describe them would be eccentric.

Old man Blackheart could only shake his head in bewilderment at the actions of his adorable disciples. He waited patiently for them to get tired before taking them back to the inn and putting them to bed.

He felt extremely lucky to have such innocent yet vigilant souls as his disciples. He cherished them and wished for them to stay the same. Alas, the world was cruel and wouldn't allow softies to survive. He lamented but could only wait for fate to play it's part in shaping these youngsters while remaining an innocent bystander.
