Chapter 19 - The Batang People

When Raylyn was done resting. He planned to take Araya with Humaling and Humabon on the journey. Then Datu Appari escorted them off from the shore of Appari afterwards. "Maraming salamat sa inyong tulong. Nawa'y magkita tayong muli sa hinaharap." (Translation: Thank you so much for your help. I hope that we would be able to meet again in the future.) Raylyn then answered as Araya translated it for him. "If fate allows us Datu Appari." Then they went into the Pamboat and sat down, Araya and Raylyn was next to each other as they travelled back to Kabite once again for another long 2 hours trip back. "That took everything out of me. The moment I used such power, I need to train more in the ways of the light. I am still not able to maintain this power due to the drawbacks." Then Araya listened while leaning against Raylyn's shoulder. "You can figure it out. You've always been a smart boy." Raylyn then sighed and grabbed her head from the side her hair and played with it within his fingertips. "Maybe. But there's no time for me to figure it out since we are heading to an unknown territory." They arrived at the Shore of Kabite and went to Datu Ibon to report the incident. Datu Ibon then agreed to let Raylyn investigate. Meanwhile, Humaling was still training his Kapang into its maximum potential as Humabon was throwing rocks at Humaling for some reason, it seems they were in some sort of training grounds. "Kaya mo ba matiyak na magiging maayos ka lang kung ganito ang ating pagsasanay?" (Translation: Are you really sure that you would be alright doing this kind of training?) Then Humaling answered as his burning aura ooze within his body while swinging his Kalis blade to slice all the rocks that was thrown at him. "Natalo tayo ng kalaban, kung nais natin hindi ito mangyari ulit, kailangan natin magsanay hanggang lumakas tayo!" (Translation: We were defeated by our enemies, If we want to make sure it will never happen again we must train until we become stronger!) Then Humabon sighed but saw Raylyn coming along with Araya. He waved at them and because of that, Humaling stopped for a moment and went towards them as he walked slowly. "Reileen! Maligayang araw! Napadalaw ka?" (Translation: Reileen! Good Morning! What's the purpose of your visit?) Then Araya tried to answer it on behalf of Raylyn but she was stopped by Raylyn and answered himself. "Hello Humabon. I was trying to check on you on how are you guys doing." Then Humaling smiled and answered as he sheathed his Kalis blade. "Mabuti naman. Matagal na tayong hindi nagkita, mga apat na ang nakakalipas." (Translation: That's good to know. It's been awhile since we seen each other, it's been four days.) Araya then wondered on how the three of them are communicating right now since they surely don't speak the same language. There is only one possiblity, it's either that Raylyn got used to Humabon and Humaling that he was able to understand them by heart or he could understand the language by being exposed to it for a long time but still couldn't speak it well. Araya then smiled towards them while they both discussed on a mission, finding possible clues about the enemies since Kabite right now is endanger due to the power struggle and the news about Lakan Sunog's death. "Sasama ako. Hindi ko alam kung tama ba ang nagbigay sayo ng ulat ngunit, wala tayong mapagpipilian." (Translation: I will join. I don't know if the information given to you was right but we don't have a choice.) Said by Humaling and Humabon added "Kung tayo ay pupunta sa Batangas. Kailangan natin mag ingat sa mga Batang doon. Sila ay isang mga mandirigma na kayang gumamit ng kapang na kahoy." (Translation: If we are going to Batangas. We need to be aware of the Batang over there. They are warriors that uses a Kapang with wood.) Then Araya said with a smile. "Nakakamangha naman yan." (Translation: Well that's pretty interesting) It seems that Araya likes to discover new things. Maybe she would like to go there even more now due to the wood creation she just heard. "We need to get to a boat so we could travel there faster. Appari is much further away from Kabite but we managed to get there for two hours only." Araya nodded and said to Humaling to get a Pambot and Humaling got one just in time. It took him 15 minutes but they are ready to sail once more until they reach Batangas. Araya sat down on the boat and tapped the available seat to Raylyn. "Sit here." Then Raylyn sat down next to Araya. Humaling and Humabon wondered if they have gotten closer but they dismissed it due to the fact that some important matters need to be attended. Both Humaling and Humabon sat down on the other side across them and sat next to each other. As the Pambot began to sail, after one hour. They have reached the beach of Batangas. The people there seems to be living abundantly and they seem to dress rather extra flashy perse. "It seems we have arrived at the destination. Now where do we begin to search for a possible clue?" And Araya answered "We need to get to a Datu in this place. But I don't think they have a Datu here. They seem to be in a Lakanate society. We need to be careful and not offend them too much since we are on a unfamiliar territory." Humaling and Humabon observed the place, they saw different architectures of huts with brown fabrics attached to it and saw a full of extravagant jaded palace from the top of the volcano. It seems that place would be the possible choice where the Lakan of Batangas lives, and the people here are the Batang people. Since they dress in a color brown fabrics of clothing with white jaded colors from their sleeves."It seems like we have some work to do." Said by Raylyn as he plan to go to the Lakanate of Batangas.
