Chapter 15 - Wako Pirates

At the Northern Lusong Appari. There was a unidentified ship crossing over the ocean, the natives tried scoping it with their own telescope made of bamboo and saw something getting near. "Ang mga mandaragat nandito!" (Translation: The Pirates are here!) Then the Pirates began descending at the shore. Most of them came into the island to trade with some locals but these pirates seems to be escaped criminals from somewhere. The Lusong Warriors known as Mandirigma went to meet these pirates and the leader of the pirates descended on the ship and unsheathed his blade. The captain of the pirates pointed his blade towards the Mandirigma who is already there to meet them and said "攻击!" (Translation: Attack!) The pirate crew laughed maniacally and fought the warrior from Appari. Then the news came in from a certain Datu who own the land of Appari. The Datu went to the commotion of where the battle takes place. Some of the Mandirigma was killed due to the skill of the leader of the pirates but the Datu was able to fend off and kill some pirates on the way. The leader of the pirates and the Datu battled for a short while but it seems there was a schedule of where they need to retreat. The casualties were minimal but 5 died on the incident while they retreated. The pirates seems to be testing their strength first and calculating on how strength the enemies they might have. Now that they can estimate it, they might have come back to prepare. "Ibalita mo ito sa nasasakupan ng Lusong na may mga mandaragat na sumasalakay sa ating kalupaan. Kailangan natin mag handa kung sila'y sasalakay muli." (Translation: Spread the news to the land of Lusong that there are pirates who keeps attacking our lands. We need to prepare for their next assault if they ever would return again.) Then the Mandirigma bowed respectfully "Masusunod po! Mahal na Datu!" (Translation: As you command! Mahal na Datu) At Kabite City of where Raylyn is still training. He has finished his daily swings and now he is decent in terms of the art of Kali. But he hasn't mastered it yet due to his restraint of his holy aura that is mixed within his body. Then Raylyn went towards where Araya is studying on the silid aklatan (Library) and then Araya was able to sense Raylyn when he was just leaning against the wall while she was reading a book of Anglesh that was provided by Datu Ibon. "What are you doing here Raylyn?" Then Raylyn smiled since she can already speak Anglesh in just a short time. "Nothing, I just wanna check on you and your progress. And it seems that you are studying Anglesh." Then Araya smiled as well while reading the last page and closed it. "I was already finish studying it. Thanks to the voice strolls it made my learning easy when it comes to the language. It isn't a big deal since I had to learn Taga-ilog as well as a child." Raylyn listened to her while he was still leaning against the wall and sighed softly and gazed at her with a wondering expression. "That's good. Now our communication would be much easier. But I was wondering, do you where Humabon and Humaling is right now?" Araya answered while she went towards Raylyn a little bit and while holding the book and since Raylyn is leaning against wall next to the bookshelf. Araya's hand was near Raylyn's neck while putting the book on the shelf as they began to get closer towards each other for a little bit. As Araya answered him back "Humabon and Humaling seems to be resting as of now. They took a lot of damage from the previous fight but after they recovered. I guess you could say that they began training again since they lost so they could become stronger again and might be looking for a rematch on the future." Raylyn then gazed at Araya as she began to slowly step back while she smiled at him. Then a news occured as Araya and Raylyn heard the commotion and went towards Datu Ibon's banua. "It seems the two of you are just arrived in time. Raylyn how's your training doing as of late?" Then Raylyn answered back "Let's just say I was able to be decent at Kali as of now. But I am still not good enough." Datu Ibon then said "That's good to know. Keep on making some progress but more importantly. It seems that there are some pirates running amok on the Northern Lusong on Appari. 5 died on both sides, it seems they retreated after testing their own strength. They might come back again to attack. And this is a good opportunity for you Raylyn, you can test your strength and see your trainings worth. Furthermore, you can use this opportunity to scout some of the Datu to see who would against us since Lakan Sunog was killed by me. We need to know how many people are trying to kill us. You are already well known but not enough to recognize by the whole Lusong. So there is a chance that you can still investigate." Raylyn replied with an acknowledge nod. "Do not worry Datu Ibon, I will try my best to fend off these pirates. But what kind of pirates are they?" Then Datu Ibon replied as he read the documents from the paper he received from the news. "The Leader spoke a different language. If they heard it right, in the report it seems that he said "Gonji" meaning attack. The leader might be an escape criminal from East Continent of the Ming Dynasty. However, It isn't just him, they are many people from different continents but most of them come from East as well but other one might be from Rising Sun or in our language it is be called Hapon. Many people from different parts of the world might come from that group of pirates. But that's all we know for now." Araya then listened and asked Datu Ibon. "May I accompany him Mahal na Datu?" As the Datu replied. "Yes you may. We need all the help we can get and your salamangka is very useful to track and for combat." Then Araya thanked Datu as both Raylyn nodded and went to Northern Lusong on Appari. As a new mission for Raylyn begins, while pirates is still looming around the vicinity.
