Nothing But The Truth (2)

Nothing But The Truth (2)

Tied up to a chair was Kat, her neighbor. Leah was beyond shocked to see her here, she was the last person, she was expecting to see in the cell.

Her current condition was even more shocking. They were bruises all over her face, some were even bleeding, while the others had turned blue and even dried up. The rope binding her hands to metal chair handle, was digging into her flesh as blood slowly sipped from her wrist to the ground. Her hair look to be turning grey and her face looked slightly older than the last time Leah had seen her, like she had quickly aged rapidly after their last encounter.

Despite Kat current state, her lips curved into a creepy smirk when she saw Leah.

"Awwn! Lucius, how thoughtful of you to bring me my sweet little bestie." Kat ran her tongue over her bloody teeth as she stared at Leah.

"W-what is she doing here?" Leah stuttered, finding it really hard to believe that Kat was the one sitting in front of her.

Lucius did not give a reply to her question, instead his eyes only hardened.

"I've settled my part of the deal, so start talking," Lucius said, directing his words to Kat.

With bright eyes, Kat glanced at him and immediately pouted her lips in an innocent way. "You're forgetting something, Lulu,"

Lucius jaw clenched, when those words left her lips, but he did not say a thing in reply to what she said.

Glancing back and forth between Lucius and Kat, Leah had a confused expression, as to what was really going on.

'What deal are they talking about,' Leah mused to herself.

Lucius let out a small sigh, that was almost inaudible, before striding to where Kat sat. He stood directly in front of her on purpose to block whatever he was about to do from Leah's view. His black dagger materialized into his hands from tin air, before he used it to draw a tin line on his own wrist.

Kat threw her head back, her lips immediately parting in anticipation. Lucius brought his cut wrist just above her lips to let his blood drip straight into her mouth. Some of the blood slip to the side of her lips which slowly slid to her cheek.

All this time, Leah simply stood there staring at Lucius back with a confused and curious look, wondering what he was doing to Kat.

When Lucius stepped away from Kat, Leah's eyes widened a surprise, as the woman no longer had bruises on her face, what was left was only blood, and she looked even younger, with her hair back to it's deep black. The bleeding from her wrist had also miraculously stopped.

Leah glanced at Lucius with a suspicious look, wondering if he had somehow preformed some magic on Kat.

"What is going on? You said you were going to tell me the Truth... About everything?" Leah asked Lucius, her voice sounding impatient, but Lucius did not give her a reply, instead he brought out a handkerchief and began to clean his wrist, which had already healed but still had blood stain on it.

"You haven't told her yet, huh," Kat said, her words sounding like a self statement to herself rather than a question. "I guess I'll just have to tell her myself then," Kat added, a mischievous smirk curving on her lips.

"Lucius has you tied up to his leg like a little puppy because he thinks, oh, no, he thought you were his mate." Kat let out a small hearty chuckle which only sounded, creepy as it echoed in the cell room. "But unfortunately for the both of us here..." She pouted her lips as she gestured to Lucius and herself. "Your not. Isn't that right, Lulu?"

Leah's eyes widened even more before they moved to Lucius with questions, wanting to confirm if Kat was really saying the truth.

"Shut up, Kat." Lucius gave her a warning look but that did not stop her from talking, she still continued.

"But he still thinks that you might be able to save him from the deal he made."

"Not one more word from you." Lucius warned her again.

"What deal?" Leah asked Kat.

She was no longer giving Lucius any attention since he wasn't ready to speak.

"The deal he made with dea..." Kat could not finish her words as Lucius wrapped his hand tightly around her neck, choking the air out of her.

"What did I tell you, huh?" Lucius asked, his eyes so looking so lethal, and his voice sounding icy like it could cut through metals.

The intensity in his voice was so cold, that Leah even felt a slight shiver from where she stood.

Whatever Kat had been about to say, had almost sent Lucius off the edge, but he got a hold of his control before it could slip.

Curiosity and disbelief were the two emotions that were lingering in Leah's eyes. She was curious to know what deal Lucius made and how it was even related to her. And to think that Lucius had even assumed that she was his mate was even crazier than she could even imagine, because a hunter could never be a vampires mate.

They were sworn enemies and it had always been that way for centuries. There was just no way that a hunter could be a Vampires mate. First starting with the fact that a hunters blood was deadly to a vampire, as no vampire would even last more than a day after consuming it. And every hunter bloodline had a special seal that bounds them to despise vampires and all supernatural beings — it was something entirely out of their control.

A vampire couldn't even be friends with a hunter — the few that actually tried either ended up with one party losing their heads or their hearts. Leah was the only hunter was the only exception in this case.

But the fact that she did not hate vampires did not mean that she could even be a mate to one. Unless the universe was mad.

"I-I w-was just trying to help."

Kat's strained, broken voice snapped Leah out from her thought. Lucius still had his hands wrapped around her neck.

Leah could not stand there any longer as she was staring to starting to get upset, so she left the cell. Lucius was too preoccupied with his anger, that he did notice Leah leaving.

His hand slowly loosed from Kat's neck just enough for her to breath, without completely freeing her.

Kat gasped for breath, coughing a little immediately she felt the little freedom on her neck.

"You would have just let me tell her the whole truth. I was only doing you a favour," Kat said, with a smug smile, revealing her bloodied teeth.

"You wanted my blood, and I've given you that, it's your turn to fulfill your side of the bargain," Lucius said, completely ignoring what she had just said.

"You know, you could have just asked Guinevere these questions instead of asking me. Isn't she the better seer?" Kat twisted her lips like she thinking about what she said.

The reason he had Kat down here was to provide him information to some certain matters because she was a seer just like Guinevere but was even stronger.

"Don't test me. You wouldn't want me to test out stage six on you, now would you?" Lucius asked, his lips curving into a cold deadly smirk.

Stage six was the code to special torture that Kat was particularly afraid of even though she had no idea what it was. She had experienced stage five first hand, and it was nightmare.

"Let's not get aggressive now. I'll talk okay," Kat said more seriously now. "What I'm about to tell you is nothing but the truth. The person your looking for goes by the name the desert witch. She's the one who pulled the strings to get you restricted by the council. She has a lot of connections both with the council and from what I hear, or saw..." Kat rolled her eyes dramatically. "The little vixen seems to really hate you."

Lucius finally pulled away from her, a slight frown in between his brows. The name Kat mentioned did not ring a bell in his head. He had wronged a lot of people but this desert witch was not on his list.
