Nothing But The Truth ( 1 )

Unlocking her room door, Leah stepped in, her lips was curved in a sweet smile. She was excited because she was going to call Ami today. During her little shopping yesterday, she had gotten a phone for herself.

Since Lucius did not restrict her from making calls, she didn't see anything wrong with actually buying. She didn't think he would mind, and even if he did it was his stupid business. The thought of saying that to his face had her chuckling a little.

"What a pretty sight,"

The sudden voice from her bed startled her, and she immediately stopped laughing. Her expression turned sour when she saw Lucius sitting on her bed with Max curled up peacefully sleeping on his lap, like a cat. Lucius was wearing a black shirt that fits snugly against his broad chest emphasizing his strong physique. The top buttons of his shirt are undone, revealing a hint of his smooth and toned chest.

"What are you doing here?" Leah asked, glaring at him.

If Lucius wasn't so attractive, she didn't think she would have been able to hold herself back from punching him in the face.

"I was just enjoying your scent on the sheets," Lucius said as he grabbed the sheets and pulled them up to his nose, inhaling slowly. "You smell so fucking good," he added with a devilish smirk.

Leah glared at him, she felt like climbing unto that bed and punching that aesthetic smirk off his lips, but she didn't do that.

"What are you doing here," she asked in a much calmer voice this time.

Lucius didn't not reply immediately, instead he gently placed max on the bed from his lap before getting down from the bed.

"Did you have a visitor last night?" Lucius asked with a more serious face.

"No," Leah replied immediately, wondering why he was even asking that kind of question.

And then it hit her, she did have a visitor early this morning — from that ghost. But how did Lucius know about it?

While all these thoughts were running through her mind, her heart rate also increased which Lucius immediately noticed.

With intense eyes, Lucius stared at her like he was trying to get the answer to his question from her face.

"Lying to you is so easy for me, but why is it so upsetting when you lie to me?"

Leah was completely speechless by his question. What kind of question is this? Was she supposed to answer to answer his question? She could only stare at him because she didn't think she had any reply to give him.

"I'm not lying. No one came here," Leah said, trying to convince him.

"Hm, If you say so." Lucius walked past her towards the door, he stopped by the door and stared at Leah over his shoulder for a moment before finally leaving the room.

...

The gentle knock on the door disrupted her from what she was doing — trying to straighten her hair. She dropped the hair straightener with a frustrated groan and went to answer the door.

When she opened the door, she saw Lucius standing there.

"Come with me. I have something to show you," Lucius said in a commanding tone that sounded almost urgent.

"No," Leah replied bluntly, and was about to shut the door in his face, but Lucius placed his hand on the door, stopping it from closing. "What is it?"

"I thought you wanted to know the truth," Lucius said.

"What truth." Leah asked, opening the door a little wider.

"The truth about everything. Why I brought you here, why I lied to you, and everything else."

Leah stared at him with slightly narrowed eyes for a few seconds before finally agreeing to follow him, when she did not sense any teasing in his tone.

...

They were deep inside the woods, standing before an old, rusted metal door on the ground that appeared to lead to some sort of tunnel. The spiral staircase leading downward was only visible for the first few flights of stairs, as the remainder of the descent was shrouded in darkness.

Lucius descended first, and after a few steps, he halted and pivoted to face Leah, who seemed hesitant to follow.

"It's safe, Leah, trust me," Lucius said, his voice both convincing and reassuring.

A faint sigh escaped Leah's lips, before she also proceeded through the door.

Fortunately, the stairs didn't descend that far, so they reached the bottom quickly. The pungent odor of damp rust and blood filled her nostrils, causing her to flinch. The tunnel was even darker than Leah had expected; she couldn't even see her hand in front of her face.

"I can't see a thing. Can you turn on your flashlight?" Leah asked, obviously directing her words to Lucius, but she did not receive any reply. A few seconds passed, and she still did not hear anything - not even a single sound. Panic slowly started to creep under her skin.

"This isn't funny," she said, but still didn't receive any reply. "Lucius! Lucius...!" Her voice sounded like a whisper, even though it wasn't really a whisper.

A heavy switch sound filled the dark tunnel, accompanied by light.

"I thought you didn't know my name, since you've never called me by my name," Lucius said, as Leah spotted him standing by the wall, just a few steps away from her with a devilish smile tugging at his lips.

"Was that really necessary?" Leah rolled her eyes at him.

Lucius' expression suddenly changed to a slightly serious one, and in a flash of speed, he was standing in front of Leah.

"I told you not to roll your eyes at me, didn't I?" Lucius asked, with a dangerous glint in his eyes, like a predator waiting to pounce on his prey with one wrong movement that it made.

Leah gulped softly as she recalled his words... No, rather his warning.

"This way," Lucius suddenly said, and began walking ahead.

Leah immediately snapped out from her thoughts, and followed Lucius, slowly trailing behind him.

As they walked past different old, rusty cells, Leah kept looking to her left and right, wondering if this was a former underground prison as it looked like one.

"This used to be my family's secret prison back in the day," Lucius said, confirming Leah's lingering thought. "We no longer use it, though, except on a few occasions."

"So what are we doing down here?" Leah questioned, as her eyes scanned around.

"There's someone I want you to see."

Leah stared at Lucius back with a slightly narrowed eyes, wondering who this person was.

Lucius stopped in front of a particular cell, before opening the the door and stepping in. Leah also stepped in too.

The smell of blood was even stronger in the cell room, which had her wincing in disgust.

There was someone seated on a chair in the dimly lit room. Leah's eyes settled on the figure, who appeared to be a woman with long, flowing hair obscuring her face.

The person had her head down, making it difficult for Leah to discern her features.

But when the person raised up her head, a loud gasp escaped Leah's lips.
