Chapter 7

FLASHBACK IN SANDRA'S POV

A 16 year old me was staring at my mom lying on a hospital bed with an oxygen mask attached to her face,and a continuous beeping by her side was making me anxious. I got a call while I was at Bella's place,she has gotten into a car accident and she was in a critical state,I rushed down to the hospital and the scene I met almost made me cry. Her almost lifeless body was lying on the bed. She stared at me like she was sorry that I had to see all this. I sat down close to her holding her hand in mine. Fred and Brittany came a few hours later,I definitely lost it when she appeared here,I rushed towards her and grabbed her by her hair."This is all your fault,if you hadn't shown up,my mum wouldn't be here,you fucking bitch,I screamed in a breath. She screaming as I pushed her to the window.

Cassandra! My dad yelled as he slapped me across my face. I looked at him shocked and hurt,he had never raised his hand to me. He looked at me with guilt. I hate you,I said with a low voice,I fucking hate you so much,I said raising my voice a little,I wish my mom never married you. He looked at me for a while before he went to help Brittany,she groaned in pain as she got up with Dad's help. I stood on that same spot as I cried,she sat on a chair across the room. Dad walked back to me,"it's not her fault any of this is happening,Sandra,your mom will be fine. I looked at this man who was also my dad, he's acting all calm."Then who should I blame? You? At least you were the one who got her pregnant right,cause it's all your fault to me,I looked at him sharply. He was about to say something when I cut him off,"I don't wanna listen,I said turning my back to him. My eyes met with my mom's,she was looking at me like she wanted to tell me something.

She was mouthing my name,I rushed towards her side."Mom,are you okay? I asked as I held her hand in mine,she took off her mask and smiled weakly at me."Am fine, darling,stop worrying,she said weakly."We both know you're lying, i said with tears in my eyes. Her gaze went to dad behind me. I looked at him and looked back at her,she looked back at me. She told me to take off her customized necklace, I looked at her then took it off."I want you to have that, Cassandra,she said weakly."Why? I asked confused,"Because it fits you better than me,she said with tears forming in her eyes."What are you doing,Agnes?My dad suddenly asked.   "I forgive you, Fredrick,she said slowly, and I still love you.

She looked at me,"I love you too,Cassy,please don't make the same mistake I made,she said."Agnes, Dad whispered from behind,she looked at him then returned her gaze to me with tears in her eyes as the machine started beeping faster than before."No,I stammered, don't do this,mom. I hugged her on the bed,"I'm sorry,she whispered."Agnes,my dad said louder and moved closer to the bed. I felt her body grow limp in my hands,I knew she was gone. I stared at her corpse on the bed, then my head went numb. I just couldn't think of anything else.

Her burial was a really silent one,then Grandma offered to be my guardian. Dad never stayed home again, I was always at Bella since Brittany and her daughter, Lucinda have decided to make my life a living hell. I never heard anything from my father again after I left our house to Granny's. I heard news of the company going bankrupt. Maybe Dad was really affected by mom's death. I hated Lucinda just like her mother,then she decided to ruin the love life between I and Martin,just like her mom,it sure runs in the blood.
