Chapter 3

I rose up to my feet ready to perform my role as leader. I grabbed a machine gun and rushed downstairs. "Leon you are on the veranda, I'll contact Giovanni and see if he can get faces from the cameras outside", I dished out the orders, he went outside in battle mood. I took my phone and contacted Giovanni,"Hack into the outside cameras and see who our attackers are?"

"I know what to do, Boss", he answered. I made men protect other entry points in the house. I help my gun, together with three of my best fighters patrolled the house ready to kill anyway who attempts to sneak into the building. The gun shots got worse and worse as I deployed more of my fighters to the scene. As I could hear the bullets shattered my windows, it was a wake up call for me to go onto the field. I went out and got into position, shooting them. I managed to kill some two men in under five minutes. I sneaked through the bushes to get to a better side. "Leon, contact Gio and see if he has seen the leader of whatever this is". He shot a guy who was flipping just about sneaking to a different spot. Some of my men died though and I hated losing men. People's lives are being lost, families are losing loved ones. "Gio said he cant see the person who seems like the leader or something.

"Go back into the house and ensure that things in there are going on smoothly", Leon said while aiming at the enemies. I hated being bossed around. I am the boss but I had to put my pride aside and went through bushes into the house.

I was in my battle mood. My senses were alert, ready to pick up even the slightest movements. More windows were getting broken as the shooting outside got more intense. Who could be the person doing this? Giovanni hasn't even seen who could be in the crowd doing this. I tried to peek outside, hiding below the windowsill. I could sight bodies of my men lying in a pool of their own blood. Theirs got killed too but I am more concerned about my people. Just as my attention focused on the outside, a deep voice entered my ear canals saying,"Don't you dare move"

I turned my head to see a tall man standing behind me. His hair slicked back with his eyebrows arched just about right. He had a gun pointed at me. "Get your toy away from me"I clenched unto my gun as tightly as possible. I stood up not feeling afraid to face this man,not even at gunpoint. I wasn't about to cower to his almost deadly gaze. This is not my first rodeo, certainly won't be the last. "You are a fearless woman aren't you?" I could detect a bit of accent that I couldnt pinpoint in his voice. "This is not the first time I have been held at gunpoint, moron", I replied. A smirk tagged his lip, I remained nonchalant to any of his pathetic tactics.

I must have mistakened it but I heard a sudden snickered from him. "Well, show me who your leader is and I might decide to not put holes through your head". I smiled at him sinisterly. I cleared my throat a bit and brought my hand out,"You are talking to Miss Sullivan, leader and boss of Blood Moon Mafia".

I couldn't tell if he was surprised or shocked. His face remained emotionless as he looked at my hand like poop was on it. "I am not shaking your hands that has inflicted pain on a number of innocent victims". I put my hand back at my side. "The one time I decide to be nice to people", I muttered. He put the gun on my forehead. I didn't flinch, no fear at all, just me being bold as I always am in situations like this. "I kill people who mess with me and if those "innocent people" cross my lane, do you think I won't kill them".

"Do you know the number of families people like you destroy. People like you do not care about who you hurt as long as you get what you want", Anger coated his every word and I must say I like how infuriated he is. "I do what I do because people like you can't seem to be in their lane. For example you are responsible for this shooting out I assume. You somehow got in here in stealth mode, my CCTV camera didn't see you. How do you expect me to let you leave here undead?"

"What you do affects me because my family member could oneday fall in your clutches so I have to come after you and other people involved in organized crime". I yawned mid-way of his speech. I hate people who think they are so good and chastise people when I am sure he isn't a saint. "Are you the Police or something? Who do you think you are? The Police has been around for years and still mafia groups exist in San Francisco. What makes you think you can stop us?" I poured out the questions in irritation. He laughed hysterically and I thought he snapped right this instant. "What's funny?" I furrowed my eyebrows closer together in a frown. I sure was getting irritated and this banter is taking my time as my men are dying outside. "To answer your question on who I am, I am Gabriele Van Pelt. Not a pleasure to meet you Ma'am. An uproar of anger swirls in my tummy. This man is the stupid guy who sent hackers to infiltrate our database. How did he eventually track us. "To answer your other questions, I have taken down quite a number of mafia groups like I am about to do to yours. Now all the souls you took from this world can rest in peace because you will be in hell with your stupid parents,Miss Sullivan".

I was so happy to see Leon behind this scoundrel. He spun around swiftly and shot in Leon"s direction, luckily he had his bullet proof vest on. I quickly bashed him in the head with the back of my gun. As he was in a daze, Leon punched him so hard. "Stupid bastard", I insulted him. My men surrounded him and pointed their at him waiting for the command to pull the trigger. I went round and stood in front of him. His now disheveled hair fell on his undeniably handsome face. His lip was literally bleeding. I must say he is incredibly attractive but not my type at all. "I am sure you saw the pictures of your street hackers with our logo on their bodies", I laughed in an attempt to ridicule him. He smiled arrogantly,"You will pay for this". His voice sounded husky and serious together with his accent.

"Your threats do not scare me, Mr Van Pelt. Trust me, I am ready to blow your head off this instant but you know I would have mercy on you". I got closer to his ear and whispered,"Go away and be good, otherwise I will use your femur bones to play drums". I gave him a baleful smile. I am sure he got the memo. I snatched the gun from his grip and placed it in my holster.

"You know you are who you are because of your men. If they didn't come I would have blown your head off".

Just as I thought, the same dirtbag that put some people's life in danger and I had mercy on just about a minute ago is talking like his brain malfunctioned. "For someone who I am letting leave here with just a bloody lip, you sure are talking a load of nonsense. Why don't you put your little toy machine elsewhere while I put my machine gun away and we fight like man and woman". He took a step closer and my men instantly became alert. "Don't worry he won't try anything". They lowered their guns but still highly vigilant. "My men are still outside I could easily let them barge in here and we would put holes in every furniture here but since your goons are surrounding you I will let you be for now. Next time I won't spare you Miss Sullivan". He sounded very menacing, every word sounded dangerous than the last but they did not scare me. He went out and drove away with the remaining of his men. I have to get better security. My thoughts right now is if he hadn't come in here alone we wouldn't have had it so easily. Then again I had a machine gun on me, I could have turned him into a sieve but I didn't, he was alone. It was an interesting back and forth banter anyway.

I went out to check out the damage from all this, Leon followed me closely. The smell of fresh blood, dead bodies and laying on the floor took me years back in time to the scene of what 7yr old me saw. A sight that changed my scope on life completely. I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I groaned, reaching to it and pulling it out.
