Chapter 31: My Army

Celeste POV.

My feelings for him had been building for a while, but I wanted to confirm them without being confused by the mate bond. During our kisses, he keeps touching me so tenderly. I can't control my heartbeat. For once, my heart agrees with my mind.

Zayden walks up to me and squats in front of me. He grabs my hands.

“So, you're fully accepting our bond?” His eyes remind me of a puppy. I want to laugh at how adorable he looks. I let go of one of my hands as I stick out one finger in front of his face.

“I do accept our bond. BUT we still need to take things slow. We are at the dating stage, so this doesn’t mean tomorrow we go and get married. I want to focus on building our relationship from the ground up not because of our mate bond but because it’s the right thing to do.” He nods his head in agreement.
