Yang Eun Bi was pacing back and forth in the hotel room, her heart thumped, there was somewhere else she'd rather be than this stupid engagement party.
she had all she needed to make this work
"No No No!!! This can't be happening to me" she cried out
"Is she going to stand me up, maybe she changed her mind, God please let that not be the case, I can't do this, Min Jing I beg you with everything you hold dear come" she pleaded talking to herself like she was about to go psych
She stared at her wristwatch frantically looking at the time
One would have thought that if she stared hard enough, the time would stop.
She could already hear the sound of the musical interlude from the hall downstairs,
"The party was going to start at exactly 8:00 pm, it was already 7:00 pm and Min Jing was nowhere to be found.
Just when she was about to break down into tears she heard a slight knock on the door, they had agreed to meet up by 6:30 in one of the rooms of the hotel, she had done a good job with describing the place for Min Jing but she was already 30 minutes behind schedule
She opened the door as her teary eyes immediately glistened on seeing Min Jing
"oh my!!! you came"
"Was there any doubt?"
"A little" she replied which was a big fat lie, she had given up to the point of tears before her arrival.
"okay we don't have so much time, let's fix you up"
"Okay" Min Jing simply said with a straight face, she didn't talk much plus she was here for the job, nothing else, she wasn't here to make friends with her "look-alike".
"Okay listen up, there are some things you have to know about my family, my father is a total jerk, I hate him, we rarely ever talk"
"Oh cool"
"Cool?" She asked cutting her dark long hair at shoulders length.
"Yes, that's the easy part"
"Hmmm"
she moved over to the other part of the hair
"Gosh!! I loved my long black hair" she groaned within herself.
"Is this totally necessary Min Jing?" she thought to herself
"Bet it is"
Engrossed in the little conversation she was having in her head she wasn't able to hear the part where she talked about allergies.
"I guess that is all we need to know about me"
"Any questions?" she asked remaining cheerful as ever as she applied dye on her hair.
"No, nothing at all" she responded
"How hard could it be to sit still and look pretty," she thought to herself.
Contrary to what she thought it was going to be the hardest Jib she had ever done since she started working with the Kang empire
"She was in for it"
She pulled off her dress and placed it gently on the king-sized hotel bed.
"Okay it's time to pull off yours, we have to make an exchange, we don't want to raise suspicions of any sort, there are cameras everywhere"
"What time is it?" Min Jing asked as tension crept into her soul
"It's 10 minutes to 8:00 pm"
"Oh my, that's....real close," she said quivering, that was a strange feeling, she was never this way, this was Min Jing, Fox the most feared in the underground world. Trembling because of a mere switch.
This wasn't just a switch to her, it meant the whole world to her, She has been training all her life for this very moment and looking at herself in the mirror not recognising the person she was staring at.
"Just one final touch and we're good to go"
"What?! yes, your eyes, you have light brown eyes I have a darker brown you'll need contact lens"
"Oh right! I'll need contact lens" she responded struggling to breathe
If she was ever told that a day would come when she would tremble over something as trivial as this.
"Open your eyes and look upwards"
She did just that while Eun Bi placed the contact carefully in both eyes
"Perfect!!!"
She handed over the silver-coloured straight long gown to Min Jing, it had a nice slit at the side, which went all the way to her laps
"Alright pull off your clothes"
She stood up immediately removing the black Versace vest and joggers she was putting on along with her black sneakers
It was obvious that she had no atom of royalty in her blood.
Min Jing looked at the gown, she couldn't believe that there would ever come a time when she would wear this kind of dress, not for a job but for an engagement party where she was the bride to be
"You are now me!"
She said as they both stared at each other in amusement there was absolutely no difference between both of them
She bent down to carefully place the silver-coloured shoe in her legs, they had the same sized clothes and shoes, it was a mystery she didn't want to peer into.
All that mattered to her was that she got out of the town as quickly as possible, with the love of her life.
"Shall We?"
"Yes" she responded taking a deep breath
"Let's begin"
