Chapter 1

Inside a well-furnished office seated a lady, Lily Ace, an American woman who owns a small clothing factory. Lily possesses almost everything a woman could desire: beauty, fortune, a strong character, and a wonderful attitude. Her life would be the best if only her fiance didn't cheat on her.

She caught him with her best friend having sex with each other on his birthday, and ever since then, she has been moody and grumpy. As they all say, without love, the world is nothing.

Lily sighed for the tenth time but was Interrupted by a voice from the doorway, " Lily, you won't move on if you continue thinking about what he did to you." the voice said and Lily turned to face the direction from where the voice came from and discovered that it was her mom standing by the doorway with a smile on her lips, " can I?" Her mom asked and Lily nodded.

" Yes you can," Lily responded and rubbed her both palms on her lap, before shifting her swivel chair closer to her desk. " Mom, I still can't get over the fact that he betrayed me by having an affair with my supposed best friend," she began.

Lily's mum sighed as soon as she found herself a seat and gestured for Lily to continue speaking. She was guilty that she couldn't be by Lily's side when she was passing through pain, and when she needed all the comfort in the world, she was not there for her. Her fiance, Jack, whom she loved with all her heart was caught cheating on her with her best friend on the day of his birthday.

" I knew I did the right thing by leaving that place immediately. I caught both of them cheating," Lily added, her voice trembling as tears threatened to drop down her delicate face. " I gave that bastard everything he asked for. I bought a house for him, bought him a car, and secured a job for him, yet he went ahead and cheated on me. And you know the most painful part, mum?" She asked and her mom shook her head.

" He was cheating on me with my best friend. The only person I called was my friend, could you believe that?" She chuckled bitterly.

" Lily my dear," her mom said calmly. " If you keep remembering what he did to you. You won't be able to move on with your life and I am sure he is enjoying his life, while you're here sulking in pain," she continued, " everyone has faced heartbreak before. I am sure you aren't the first and you won't possibly be the last."

" You're saying this because you got married to your first love who is my dad," Lily muttered.

" I was just lucky my baby," Her mum said, shaking her head, " and beside, your dad is no more and life goes on." She added and Lily sighed.

" But mine is a whole different from yours, mum."

" Yeah, maybe you're right my dear," she said. " But remember, one thing about this world is that you may yell at it all you want or get angry, but it will never return what it has taken from you. It also means Jake is not part of your life."

Lily went mute immediately after she heard what her mum said. Maybe she was right, it is the truth and it is said that the truth is always bitter. It was the bitter truth her mom just said. Maybe, just maybe Jake wasn't part of her life that was why he messed up. It's unfair, but that's the reality; nothing is fair in this world.

" I saw something online while scrolling through social media. It might help you forget about Jake completely even if it is hard on you" her mom said, bringing out her phone from her expensive bag and scrolling through it.

" I already know what it is, mum... Don't show me anything related to dating sites because I am uninterested" Lily mumbled, already tired of her mum's attempt to help her get over Jake.

" I bet it would make you forget about him quickly my dear." Her mom smiled and Lily frowned.

" As always, it's a big no for me!" She responded firmly. " Oh my goodness! Mom, you still believe in all this dating site stuff? They are just filled with scumbags and scammers" Lily rolled her eyes at her mom's silly ideas.

" Not all of them Lily. You might find someone---"

" I said I am not interested Mom" she groaned and her mom sighed. " How about you go on a vacation somewhere far from Las Vegas?" She asked and Lily said nothing.

" I think a vacation will do. All you have to do is book a place to stay for two months, by then you would have forgotten about Jack" her mom continued.

" Isn't it weird for me to stay at a place for two good months without doing anything other than eating, sleeping, bathing, watching movies, and all?" Lily frowned and her mom chuckled, "That's what makes it interesting. I mean, you would be so occupied with having fun that you would forget about what Jack did to you in no time." Her mom said and returned her phone inside her bag.

" You can find a place to stay for the two months' vacation if you check the internet." Her mom said and stood up, walked over to where Lily was sitting, and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

" Take care, my princess. I want you to think about what I said, I bet it would help you a lot." She said and turned around walking out of the office, her heels making soft sounds.

Finally, her mom was gone and she could now have peace of mind. Her mom has always been a pain on her ass but she was always grateful to have such a mom who cares a lot about her.

" Should I take a vacation?" Lily asked herself as she settled properly in front of her desk. And since her laptop was sitting on the desk, waiting to be used, she came up with one of the most radical ideas: believing in her mother's nonsensical ideas.

" It surely won't hurt to go for the vacation, would it?" She muttered to herself, hoping the vacation would relieve her of stress and also the pain of heartbreak.

Soon enough, she got the perfect place to spend her two-month vacation according to what her mum said. " I think this is the most suitable place to spend my two months' vacation, but what would I be doing alone in such a big penthouse close to the seashore?"

Her long black hair cascaded down to her waist. Greg, who has black jet hair, stood in front of her. He was dressed in a tuxedo suit that revealed his biceps and triceps, his deep blue eyes staring lazily at the lady in front of him. He is so attractive and captivating like a Greek god.

He is so breathtaking and also every woman's dream. Ladies squirt in their panties at the sight of him.

" Well, not as if I have any options other than to marry you since it's grandfather's choice," he said, his voice deep and sexy. He walked away from her and returned to his swivel chair and sat down, " I will marry you only when I am back from a two-month vacation with my kids."
