Chapter One

Deborah's Pov

We just arrived from the airport where my dad and elder brother came to pick me up. It's been three years and I just returned from the UK where I had gone to study before deciding to come spend the holiday with my family here in our small town.

I went upstairs to my room and found it so neat and well arranged. it looked just like I was little. I stood as I continued to inspect the room; at my left hand stood my shelf which still contained my collection of rocks, I was surprised that was still there. I remember how I would jump out of the car and run upstairs just to add a new member to the team, I smiled as I recollected my childhood memories. I looked over to my bed and upon seeing the same bedsheet I used as a little girl I smiled and wondered how they were able to manage it. It had the picture of the cartoon character Sofia the first, I laughed as I remembered how I had cried after seeing it at the store and threatened too pack out of the house if I didn't get the bedsheet even though I had other beautiful ones at home, mum had sent the maid to go back to the store and get it that day just so she could have peace of mind. I opened the drawer and surprisingly there it was, looking as beautiful as ever, my little girlie diary; it was pink and had the picture of a little girl smiling and strolling in a garden. It was also an expensive one with a lock which my dad had gotten me on one of his trips abroad, I had promised to cherish it forever and that I did by keeping it in my drawer and making sure to check on it everyday without really writing much in it.

While growing I didn't really have time for much writing as I would make sure to stay late at school as I felt that our house was too boring being a big one located at the edge of the town with virtually no one around except the maids. I would come home and after changing into my house wear, I would make sure to disturb everyone at home, I was their little darling though I could be frustrating at times , you couldn't blame me: dad was always traveling, mum was always out with her rich friends and my elder siblings; Terry and Erica always had something to do and so I was left with no one most of the time except the maids and so I made sure I always had all their attention. When everyone was so tied up, I would go out and ride my little pink bicycle round the house letting my imagination go wide like the girl in my diary. Life was indeed so simple not until...
