Farosa had seen how the Chaos Witches of the Middle Ages went about their work; they would meticulously gather and refine materials, a process far more elegant than the crude decomposition by humans, and turn them into magical items.

But humans actually did it better, valuing efficiency above all else. The powdered materials still contained magic power, their effects in no way diminished, and were also convenient for packaging, storage, and transport.
