Wood Spirit

The blue mist mixed in with shards of broken ice slowly died down.

"Wha...!"

"What is that!"

Gasps of shock spread around the students down the arena.

As the blue mist died down, it revealed a wooden wall before the three boys.

The wooden wall erupted from the arena floor, going up in front of the boys. It blocked the bombardment of icicles.

There were cracks all over the wall, showing signs of weakening. If the bombardment had lasted a few more minutes, it would have broken.

But still, it did its job of protecting the boys.

Rumble!

The arena shook, and with a rumbling sound, the wooden wall contracted down in the arena floor.

As it went down, it revealed the three boys standing behind it.

Their clothes were thorn, and there were a few icicle wounds on their arms and shoulders as they could not block all the icicles before the wall rose to protect them. But they were not seriously hurt.
