Catching Up!

Chapter 30: Catching Up!

Fang Yuan had no other idea than to escape in his mind, but unfortunately, thoughts couldn't overpower the reality of the situation for him. The gap between the two sides further closed up, and around a minute later, the zombie was only a few steps behind him.

Fang Yuan couldn't even hear the roar the zombie let out from time to time and suddenly crashed to the ground. The baby that had stopped crying let out a painful cry as the fall hit the baby as well.

He could no longer run, and his eyelids started to droop down as the weight of losing consciousness was too much for them and his will to bear.

Roar!

The zombie let out a roar and pounced on Fang Yuan, seeing his condition.

Swish!

But before the situation could turn worse for the zombie, a white flash engulfed the creature, and the next moment, the zombie was cut into numerous pieces.

That was the last scene Fang Yuan saw before he could no longer bear and fell into a deep sleep. At that moment, the faces of his parents and siblings flashed in his mind. He could only apologize to them, and soon things turned into darkness.

An unknown amount of time had passed when Fang Yuan's hands moved as a warm rush of energy flowed through his body. The warm energy couldn't compensate for the blood essence loss, but the corpse poison was slowly getting cleared.

"I am alive!" The next moment, he woke up and exclaimed in shock.

"Do you want to die that much?" A gentle voice rang in Fang Yuan's ears at that moment. Surprised, he turned around and saw a beautiful woman standing not far from him.

Suddenly, he remembered how he had fallen into that situation, so he hurriedly looked for the baby. Not finding it, he turned to the woman and asked her about the baby.

After getting a positive answer from the woman, he felt relieved, and the next moment, a rush of tiredness affected him. The warm energy helped lessen the physical tiredness, but the woman wasn't capable of relieving mental tiredness.

The woman's name was Hai Ling, and she was in Crimson Wood City to purchase some herbs when the attack happened. Since she was a doctor, she joined other doctors in the city to help the injured.

Fang Yuan was brought by the captain, and since Hai Ling was the only free doctor, she treated him. Now that he was out of danger, Hai Ling went to check on the other wounded.

Not long after she left, a phenomenon appeared in the tent, and soon, the familiar portal formed.

Fang Yuan woke up on his bed and his entire body was sweating. His face was pale but the next moment, it turned into shock as he noticed the change in his body.

The blood essence he had lost to save the baby had been automatically replenished and the mental stress he had accumulated had also dropped to a low level. He would be as healthy as ever after only one night's sleep.

'Does the pagoda have healing ability as well?'

He couldn't help but think in his heart. No one knew how terrible his condition was better than him. He had most certainly cut off his future path unless he took some rare herbs that could make up for the lost blood essence. With his family condition, he could never do that, but there was no need to worry about that anymore.

He sighed in relief and then fell asleep. There was still some stress, so he easily fell asleep.

Hours passed by in a flash and soon the alarm clock rang. Fang Yuan stretched his arms comfortably as he sat on the bed.

As expected, his condition had reached the same level as when he entered the Mutou world. He then returned to his usual schedule of meditating and then exercising.

Time flew by, and hours passed in a flash.

Fang Yuan entered the gym to continue his training. Since it was only the second day, the training was still basic, but there were visible improvements in him.

The zombie had pushed Fang Yuan to the extreme, and his body seemed to have remembered that. He was confident that with enough diet, he would soon be able to outgrow his past self in only a few days.
